This show is excellent! I love listening to the 80’s movie reviews. Very funny and insightful.

    My BFFs (in my head)
I love everything about this podcast. Erika’s laugh is a delight and Paul’s pronunciations are fine! The man has an adorable accent! Can you tell I read one of your only non 5 star reviews and felt the need to finally leave my review and defend your honors at the same time??!! Anyway, these two are hilarious, have excellent chemistry and have taught me how to appropriately work ‘canonical’ into conversations. Keep up the great work!

    Beautiful
I can’t even begin to remember how I discovered this podcast (as an aging Millennial, that’s to be expected), but I’m so glad I did. With everything going on, listening to this podcast lifts my heart and makes me glad that I live in a world where it exists (also my husband is super happy that I’m discovering “old” movies - a passion of his). Paul and Erika’s perspective continually open my eyes to a world I don’t experience and I’m so glad for it. Thank you for this podcast and please know that support comes from everywhere - even the red zones.

    Take your five stars, Paul
Long time listener, first time reviewer. My Catholic childhood must have given me a strong resistance to guilt trips, because it has taken this long for Paul to shame me into reviewing the pod. Add this to your week for two hilarious and thoughtful hours’ reprieve from our current hellscape.

Why aren’t you listening to this? What is wrong with you?
Best podcast ever! If you don’t like this podcast have your funny bone checked. If you like movies, if you like to laugh, if you like listening to people who truly enjoy each other and know a thing or two about movies and theater then this is the podcast for you. The movie retells are so complete you don’t have to watch or rewatch the movies! Paul’s editing makes sure every minute is filled with laughter or information. No wasted space. Erika’s cackle will always bring you joy. I’ve spent countless hours listening and laughing along with Paul and Erika and you should too!! My Annual relisten is Bram Stoker‘s Dracula. Thanks for all the joy you bring this world. No notes but all 5 stars! Are you happy Paul?

This Pod is 10/10 if it’s a Minute
I picked this pod up on a whim when I saw that they covered the Great American Cinematic Art Piece known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Now it’s been 10 straight months of binging their back catalogue every day at work. The mellow voices of Erika and Paul have replaced the playlists that I usually cycle through to keep from flipping out on my inept colleagues, and I could not be more grateful for their help in keeping my employment secure. Their friendship is such that just listening to their banter makes you feel like you’re spending quality time with your best buds, except these two are sober (well, I assume). Their episode on Roadhouse made me laugh so hard I almost crashed my car, an experience I 10/10 would recommend. If I may make any recommendations for future episodes, I would LOVE to hear their opinions on Army of Darkness (‘93) and Popcorn (‘91). Stay classy, stay sassy and, most importantly, keep those wrists limp!

    Excellent podcast!
One of my favorite podcasts, Paul and Erika are a delight and every week I love listening to them talk about movies, even if I haven’t seen it! I would love if you two did an episode highlighting one of my favorite movies, that my cousin and I begged his dad to take us to on opening day, one of Raul Julia’s best performances, Street Fighter! 5/5 stars.
  • 66meow
    Good job!
I laugh out loud during every episode. I also enjoy participating in the one-upping pun game, even though I’m usually shopping by myself and earning side eye from strangers.

No One Is Alone with That Aged Well!
Come for the movies, stay for Paul's subtle but sometimes not-so-subtle references to musical theatre! Us MT kids are so used to being alienated from the culture at large, but not here ! if you long for a sudden Sondheim reference to hit you sideways, you've come to the right place. It doesn't matter whether you've ever seen these movies or not-- with Paul and Erika you are in good company! (That's the way it ought to be. I'm ready! ) I last left a review while driving across the Mojave desert & requested All That Jazz - now in Los Angeles, requesting the bonkers pre-Rocky Horror surely Coke-fueled movie "Phantom of the Paradise!" Sexy creepy nonsense ! Cheers!

This show has exceeded any expectations I had and has raised the bar for any other podcast I will listen to. I feel like we would be great friends! Oh Paul and Erika- you stupid sluts- I love you. You make me lol each episode. Please do 200 cigarettes, and those crazy holiday Gary Marshall films. No notes.

    KATEY! I WROTE A REVIEW!
One of my high school BFFs told me about this hilarious podcast months ago but we listen via other podcast apps so couldn’t rate and review. Today, again, we were talking about how much we love “That Aged Well” and I sat down determined to figure out how to give y’all FIVE STARS because I can’t give you more. I’ve listened to all of the episodes about movies/TV I know (I grew up in the 80s) and now I’m listening to the ones I don’t know… and then the episode makes me want to watch it. My whole family just watched “Raising Arizona” on vacation. The episodes are 2 or 3 times longer than my other podcasts and yet I’m sad each time one finishes. Their humor, synergy, rapport, spirit, energy and smart comments just delight me (and Katey) and I am HOOKED. I visited Patreon for the first time cuz I want IN. Does this get me a tote bag? Can I get one for Kate, too?

    10s Across the Board!
Erica and Paul are the absolute best! They’ll make you laugh, they’ll make you cry, they’ll make you say, HUH???? Who could forget, drink bleach Annelle? Or the iconic Chekov’s whatever. You two bring it every episode! PS… could you please do Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, Star Trek the Wrath of Khan or Spirited Away????

    My Other Podcasts Are Jealous
I found this show a few months ago and have neglected so many other podcasts in favor of listening to That Aged Well’s back catalog. This show is hilarious and sweary - just what I need to make it through the day! Paul and Erika have amazing chemistry and are tough, but fair, on movies - and occasionally TV shows - from “Back in My Day.” 10/10. No notes. Cannot recommend enough!!

The best part of my week
The amount of joy Paul and Erica bring to my life each week cannot be explained but you will get it once you listen. I have played their episode on The Ladybugs for both my sisters because we lived on that movie growing up and their commentary on it is truly hilarious.

Why am I now just finding this?!
This was suggested to me on Spotify and all i have to say is life changing…NO NOTES! I was born in 1989 and i have memory of many of the movies that have be discussed. I love the banter and friendship between the two host as well as the cackle of Erika . Paul, Iago was my favorite character from Aladdin so i could relate to your reaction on that episode, also the reaction Erika had about Risky Business and The family Stone had me laughing to the point of tears. Sorry for the long review, but thanks for providing such a entertaining escape from what seems to be the apocalypse

    Canonically The Best Podcast
I have not missed an episode of TAW since I first started listening during the pandemic. It’s my favorite podcast and one I suggest to people all.the.time. Paul and Erica have shielded us through some dark times, and we owe them everything! From Erica’s spot-on reenactment of Annie’s lines from Valley of the Dolls, to Paul’s eerie invocation of Miss Piggy, this pod is “canonically” the best. PS, please do “Boom” from 1968. It’s an Erica fever-dream. PPS, Paul you can buy all the fresh nutmeg of your dreams at Sahadi’s in Brooklyn. Xx

    Quickly becoming a favorite
I really love this podcast and look forward to it’s release each week. Initially, I only listened to the shows/movies I have seen, but now enjoy listening to anything and everything they put out. Thanks for the weekly entertainment!

I’ve been meaning to write a 5 Star review!!!
Hello all! My name is Carly and I love this podcast! I recently did a show with Paul’s friend Anjali who told me about the podcast and I’ve been obsessed ever since! Thank you for keeping me company while I door dash and keep up the commentary! SIMPLY THE BEST!!
  • Angw1016
    My favorite…
This is the first review I’ve ever written. The guys are the thing. I listen to every episode, including four movies I’ve never seen because I just need to spend time with Paul and Erica. They are my besties now. When there is nothing new to listen to, I go back and listen to the Wizard of Oz episode. “Gumm!!! Gumm!!” I may or may not yell that at my own children now when they are not meeting expectations around here, while they stare at me in confusion. I love you guys, I love this podcast, I will never quit you. Thanks for all the laughs.

I’m sad I’m late to the party but have been binge listening for the past month getting caught up- come for the hilariously good reviews and stay for Erika and Paul rapping Teen Witch. 10/10!! No notes.

I have no idea how I found this podcast but so glad I did! I started at Hot Frosty and was hooked. I jumped around to my favorite movies and kept going. Love your energy, your hilarious jokes, interesting facts and that we are the same age, so I can relate to so much of what you say. Thanks for the great time! No notes!!!

    Constantly laugh out loud funny.
I’m not entirely sure how I stumbled across this podcast, but wow, am I glad I did. Within the first 60 seconds of the Mean Girls episode, I paused, searched to see if there was a Patreon, joined immediately, and then restarted the episode. Erika and Paul—my god, I don’t know how I’ve survived this long without you. You are, without a doubt, the two funniest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of paying to listen to on the internet.

    Simply Obsessed
If you’re looking for a podcast that will make you laugh out loud while taking a nostalgic trip through pop culture, That Aged Well is a must-listen. Despite not being my usual type of podcast, I’ve found myself completely hooked, squeezing episodes into every spare moment I have. The hosts keep the conversation light, sharp, riddled with expletives (LOVE) and endlessly entertaining. I have found myself literally laughing out loud at their hilarious commentary. Their chemistry makes every episode a joy to listen to. The balance of humor and insight keeps me coming back for more—this podcast has officially become my go-to escape. I can’t recommend it enough!

    Hilarious
I’m currently cracking up listening to the episode on ‘The Cutting Edge’ (beloved rom-com). Delightful hosts.

You had me at Ursula falls out of a Vagine’!!
Paul and Erika (also names of two of my dearest friends in my whole life, all 42 years of it!) you are both are stunningly delightful and bring me such joy! While I’d heard other scattered episodes, the episode that hooked me (haha fish pun) was The Little Mermaid. I uncontrollably cackled so much that I cried at work for ten minutes. All of your episodes are pure joy and I can’t go a day without listening to at least a portion. Here’s to our budding throuple relationship that you didn’t know we had LOL Big hugs from Southwest Indiana #thingswilburlikes

    Best movie review podcast!
I learned about this podcast from the lovely ladies at A Date With Dateline and I’m so glad I did. Paul and Erika’s unimpeachable reviews have me laughing and also wondering what we were thinking in the 80s and 90s. They’re hilarious and they have the best chemistry. No notes!

    Tears of laughter
I recently found this podcast and I’m binging the episodes. I was moving right along when I got to the Muppet Christmas Carol and now Erica owes me for the repairs on my car. I was laughing so hard at her Fozzi impression that I nearly had to pull over while struggling to see through my tears. I recommend this podcast to everyone I know.

    Binging joyfully
Listening to this podcast adds so much joy to my days, I find myself belly laughing nearly every episode listening to Paul and Erika’s banter and genuine friendship. They cover movies so dearly and catch so many details that I’ve gone back to rewatch several after an episode listen that I haven’t seen in years or new movies I wasn’t previously aware of or interested in; I really do love more film being in my life as a side effect. Thank you both for creating and sharing this podcast with us! Loving you! ❤️‍🔥

    5 Star Review
I found this podcast in August of 2024 and have started at the beginning. I notoriously do NOT like movies but I love listening to these two dissect and discuss! It is well-researched, funny, thoughtful, and relatable. I truly enjoy the rapport between Erica and Paul; they’re funny and banter with each other without being mean. Just a really great podcast that I walk away feeling better about the world, not worse.

A master class in “yes, and-ing” and a meandering great time!
(Thank you, Paul, for the instructions on how to leave a review, because this Gen-Xer NEVER would have figured it out!) This is one of my top 3 go-to podcasts because it’s just so much fun! For those reviewers who mention the tangents and off-topic convo: I suggest you just sit back, relax, (buckle up), and enjoy the ride! This podcast is a master class in the game of “Yes, and…” Enjoy the true chemistry and brilliance of Paul and Erika’s banter and don’t worry, they eventually make it back from their side trips. They include fun info about all the movies they discuss, along with their thoughts on each movie’s viability in today’s culture. Hence, the title. It’s fair and balanced reporting. No notes! 😁

    Love It!
I really enjoy this podcast. I was hooked by the episode of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love the banter. And even though there is some talk that is off topic, it’s not too much. Some other podcasts spend half the show or more talking about politics, which is annoying. So I appreciate the funny back and forth and the great review of the movie. Thank you for being great. You have a subscriber for life!

    I’ve Got a Golden Podcast
Who needs a Wonka Bar when you can have this podcast as a prize instead?!?!? I’m not sure when I last saw a recent movie. I love the hilarious recaps and analysis of movies from my youth. I love Paul and Erika even though they don’t share my affinity for the I’ve got a golden ticket song. Wonka is my favorite slot machine to play and the song makes my heart soar when the Oompa Loompa feature is activated.

    Love you guys!
I am so grateful to have found this podcast! The friendship is obviously beautiful and I love the review of films I grew up loving. I mean, my wedding song was “It had to be you” from When Harry Met Sally! It’s wonderful ❤️

We’ve had to apologize to our kids so many times
This is just a great podcast idea. My wife and I have also gone back and watched some old childhood favorites, and been horrified at what we thought was funny or acceptable behavior. These two hosts crack me up and continuously point out some great observations, that I didn’t even notice. NO NOTES! Im humbly request that you review “Revenge of the Nerds”. We watched it with our two college age kids recently, and had to apologize so many times. I think it would be a great watch for the both of you.

    You Must Be an Angelfood
Longtime listener, first time reviewer! I thoroughly enjoy the That Aged Well podcast, particularly when they discuss a beloved movie or one I’ve never seen. But never did I realize how therapeutic it could be! I listened on Election Day to escape the stress and boy did they deliver with Some Like It Hot. The Madonna/bakery mashup was creative and hysterical and had me crying from laughing so much. You saved me a trip to the therapist and now I want to think of more Madonna/cake-related songs. Thank you for doing what you do. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

    Hilarious and entertaining
I love the hosts! They have great senses of humor! I just listened to the Jaws episode and it was great. This was the first episode I’ve listened to. I’ll be going back and listening to older ones.

Entertaining and Surprisingly Helpful For Parents of Young Kids
I can’t say enough good things about this show. I’ve been listening for almost a year now and still in the process of binging past episodes. Along with all of the well-deserved praise others have given the show in other reviews, I want to say that it has also helped me figure out what older movies are appropriate for my two young kids. I’ve hit some landmines in the past with old Disney animated movies, and with movies made during the 80s and 90s when I grew up. But thanks to Erika and Paul, I can listen to their recaps first before I travel down memory lane with my two young ones. Thank you both for always brightening my day and making my life as a parent a little easier.

    My comfort listen
Paul’s chiding finally worked; I’ve kvelled the praises of this podcast far and wide and figured I should probably stop stalling and leave a review. I first started listening to “That Aged Well” at least two, possibly three, years ago, and in that time it’s become my go-to film podcast. Far from being the pretentious high brow commentary that some hosts strive for, Paul and Erica’s banter captures the essence of the flick, puts it in a new light, and has you laughing the whole time. Nothing beats their chemistry. Every Monday I eagerly open my app to see which movie they’ll be covering. Sometimes I squeal with excitement when I see the title, and sometimes I’ve never heard of it, but even if I have little interest or familiarity with the film, I usually hit play because the hosts are just that good. Truly, it’s a comfort listen. I’m going through a bit of a withdrawal this vacation month of September but hope Paul and Erica are enjoying the break. When they get back and (hopefully) read this I hope they’ll consider covering “The Hudsucker Proxy,” Tim Robbins’ lesser-known 1994 film. It’s a fever dream of art deco-draped satire directed by the Coen brothers, and I think the hosts would have a blast with it.

    Amanzing and so fun!
I just found this podcast, and am already hooked from my first episode. I’m so glad that there are years of episodes for me to go back and listen to. Please keep it up, I’m looking forward to more!

It is equally as fun to hear our hosts pan a movie I hated as it is one I loved. They provide intelligent, hilarious, and thoughtful reviews of the picks and pans of our youth. Plus, the luminous and quick-witted Erika and Paul have friendship chemistry for days. They clearly love theater, movies and each other. And they owe many gifts to Kimberly and Katie of A Date With Dateline for suggesting this romping good time.

Wildly Entertaining, Smart, and Laugh out Loud Funny
My friend introduced me to this podcast and I’ve been binging it ever since. Erika and Paul are sure to bring a smile to your face with their witty recaps/reviews of “classic” films-especially if you are a child of the 80s and 90s. It is impossible not to laugh throughout each podcast. These are two incredibly smart and talented people who give in-depth insight to movies we love while uncovering what has (and has not!) aged well. It’s perfect. No notes.

    Canon!
How did I live before learning about this show (thanks to Date with Dateline for the recommendation)?! Erika and Paul are brilliantly hilarious and play off one another so well. It’s like watching a beautiful ballet — if that ballet had witty d%*k jokes and also made me spit out my drink laughing (on many occasions). As a 1980 baby, I feel a kinship with these hosts and love listening to them recap the best, worst, and most-bonkers movies of my childhood. Their laughter is infectious — Paul cracking up over Iago in Aladdin and Erika reveling in the last 20 minutes of Road House make me so happy. Please keep doing what you’re doing forever! You’re perfect. No notes. P.S. Erika and Paul, you have inspired me to up my creative cursing game, AND to research “canonical” (to make sure I use it properly).

    Gabagool!!
I love this podcast! I discovered it through a date with dateline and have abandoned all my other shows. Their banter is hilarious and it’s very very entertaining and best of all NO WIRE HANGERS!! May I suggest Airplane and Look who’s talking too! That toilet scene messed me up as a kid! PS. Not sure what my username will be since apparently I’m an old lady who can’t figure out how to change it!!🧐

This podcast has everything! Paul, Erika, movies, tv shows, PSAs, hot takes, Paul cracking himself up, Miss Piggy, Audrey Hepburn, Lorraine Bracco and more! Come for the reviews, stay for the dork jokes. I love your show…Only one note, my volume has to be turned up pretty high to hear you two…either way, I am a loyal listener (thanks to my friend @Morganza.extravaganza for telling me about y’all)

I have since peed my pants
Canonically, the first episode I listed to was Newsies, because I was THAT drama kid. Then on a road trip, my husband demanded Raising Arizona after hearing the end of your American Psycho review. Just bouncing around and picked Office Space. PEED. MY. PANTS. AT. WORK. (Not a good look.) I have ZERO idea how I found you, and Erika
  • Marvelette3Gray
I’ve tried to write this review four times but it’s worth it
But you’re getting the short version: great podcast, funny, smart, stays real without losing the delight of doing bits with your friends. Please do Mystery Men (STACKED CAST, sort of predicts the fatal flaws of the superhero movie genre). Not in a creepy way okay I love you bye-bye

Please review Shag and Hello Again
I came looking for a podcast that discussed The Legend of Billie Jean, and discovered this gem of a show. Now I have been trying to make my way through the archives, but they’ve covered SO MANY of my favorite childhood movies. I feel so seen—to give an idea of how much I fall into the target audience for this podcast, I actually did watch Fifteen on Nickelodeon when it was airing, but it was just no competition for Swan’s Crossing. Anyway, the main reason I am writing a review, which I don’t usually do, is because I really need you guys to do a show on Shag the Movie (definitely didn’t age well but will always love it, and to give a warning, the license ran out for a lot of the best songs, so unless you have a copy of the early VHS editions, you won’t get the full experience) and Hello Again (which I’m pretty sure continues the tradition of Shelley Long’s characters having terrible taste in men). I’ll be eagerly awaiting your reviews. P.s. It’s a few years old now, but just in case no one ever pointed it out, Michelle Pfeiffer changed from pants to that ugly skirt in Grease 2 because of the school dress code—no pants for girls!
