jeg2216Time to retire thisCheck out the podcast If Books Could Kill if you’re looking for a podcast that stands for what this podcast used to.

80s_cajunBack to basics pleaseI absolutely loved the early episodes of this show when they actually talked about stuff we were wrong about. I wish they would get back to that.

VileMayorUsed to Love itHas so little direction anymore. Gonna sign off. Thanks for the good times

Elizabeth__03FrustratedI have listened to you're wrong about for many months, and I love the premise. But it frustrates me that Sarah Marshall never does any research of her own. As a vehicle for hearing about a wide variety of other peoples research it is perfect, but I wish sometimes Sarah came to the table with more than her nice comments. Honestly I feel like an a-hole saying this but it feels like Sarah putting her name on this podcast is dishonest. Maybe she has a hand in finding the people to interview or has some other bigger project or something but in terms of content she doesn't provide a lot. And I love her comments! Maybe sometimes she could invite someone on to tell them a story she's researched or something.

Ramon, in the southLove it!Congratulations, Sarah! A warm welcome to the queer tent. I've loved this podcast since early days. I was sad to see Mike go, but the thoughtfulness and care remains unmatched.

RappaporterReal accounts and the human conditionI absolutely love this podcast...Sarah and her cohosts approach it through a writer's lens with humor, compassion and appreciation for the human experience. They call out misogyny and leadership alike, and recognize how much things have changed culturally...and how some things haven't. I especially love any episode with Blair Braverman. I don't do the wilderness but I feel safer knowing there are women in the the world like her who know what to do out there. Have you thought about doing an episode on the history of AA? I've always wondered about their structure and why it's so effective. Thank you guys!

Emac187Sarah is amazingSO glad to have found this podcast, it’s informative and still has entertaining banter, Sarah’s voice and energy are so authentic and soothing. I genuinely appreciate her and this podcast.

1971kmrkI Wish I Liked This MoreThe topics seem fairly interesting in the description, but honest to god, ten minutes in I rarely know what the hosts are talking about. They somehow manage to present interesting topics in such an abstract, arcane way that I haven’t the foggiest as to what connections they’re making. Today’s episode on emotional labor, for example— seems relatable, right? Instead they were off on some tangent about airlines (???) I really do wish I liked this podcast as much as I used to.

justreckinA lovely jaunt even when it makes me cryI started a new job in this last year that consists of a lot of quiet, solitary time in the far corner of a lab, and was encouraged by my coworkers to listen to podcasts to help pass the time. I found my way here mostly on accident, and am so very happy that I did. This show is just a wonderful experience of people getting to enthusiastically explain their hyperfixations and I have never been more here for something that I have for this show. I’ve learned so much, I’ve been on so many emotional journeys, and I’m so happy to have gotten the chance to experience it. Unfortunately, I’ve gone through the whole backlog already, and must now wait for new episodes to come out so I’m off to enjoy more of the You’re Wrong About extended universe. Thank you for being my lovely parasocial work friends!

Sam.CarréThe bestThis podcast is perfect for any moment of the day, month, or year! It’s like putting on your favorite cozy sweater. I enjoy the variety of subjects, and the intelligent thoughtfulness (and humor!) with which they’re discussed. Sarah Marshall is an absolute treasure.
-
ms. crankySmarmy and under-informedI really tried to like this show but could never get through an episode. I found the host to be condescending, self-satisfied, full of predictable opinions, and not particularly interested in actual information.
-
joe speaksSarahSarah M’s short, medium and long interjections with her guests are pretty much all fairly brilliant. She has knowledge, timing and humor. Just discovered this pod last week, already a big fan.

Rabble Rousing RZABring Mike Back!!!!!!Mike, I think I still miss you buddy. Although Sarah continues to do excellent work, there was something special about the predictability of the chemistry you two had. I have done “maintenance phase”, (also excellent by the way) but it’s not the same magic. Although I respect your wishes Mike, I genuinely miss you, and am willing to bet I’m not the only one. Thanks for the great pod cast guys!

CdstratThis show is Awesome!!!Hello Sarah, I’ve really been enjoying the subjects you go after and the research that is done by both you and your guests. I originally found this show from seeing the making of the Rumors album by Fleetwood Mac. I just remember being young and seeing the Grammys that year and every time I looked up Fleetwood was walking away with another Grammy and rightly so. The show was fascinating. Especially since I’m a musician myself with 15 studio albums to my name so the creative process was intriguing to me. After that I started listening to everything in your catalogue. What really gets me is your intelligence and pithy remarks you and Micheal bantered on with. Had me rolling at times. I truly love your show. Also I’m going to be in Portland playing a show at Strum Guitar on the 1400 block of Stark St. I’d love to put you on the guest list plus 1 and would be honored to meet you, maybe if I can give back a little what I have to offer since I’ve enjoyed your talents so much. I know this is probably going to get to you late and you have plans but I felt I would be remiss if I didn’t at least reach out and try. I hope to meet you someday. It’s not hard to research me - Chris Duarte - and maybe my music isn’t your taste but the offer is there nonetheless. Keep making great shows and I’ll be out there enjoying them. Sincerely- Chris Duarte

Kathleen Paige1990Hate to say it but…I just really miss the old Mike days. I love Sarah, and I love that she is keeping it going, but it’s become a totally new show the past few years and I feel like it’s lost its premise and charm. There’s also a slowness/ awkward pacing that exists in all of the newer episodes that feels odd. Still love binging the old ones regularly, and will occasionally a “new” one (ones with blaire b as a guest host are good).

irick101Megan MarshackSarah! I love what you bring us every two weeks you bring me comfort as I go through my work day, with that said I must request a topic I’ve been dying to hear about. Please do Megan Marshack when you have a chance to dive in, she allegedly died while having intercourse with a Rockefeller and I think it’d be a juicy piece to get to the bottom of Thanks so much for all you do, you bring so much joys to so many people :)

Szumik25“Journalistic” ignoranceI just finished listening to my first—and definitely last—episode of You’re Wrong About on “multiple personality disorder” from 2018. The sheer level of ignorance displayed was truly astounding. While everyone has the right to their own opinion, it’s deeply disappointing to hear such blatant cherry-picking of “facts” and the dismissive tone used throughout. Whether or not you believe in the condition, it’s inexcusable to show such disrespect toward survivors of abuse and neglect, who may or may not have what you call “multiple personality disorder.” These are individuals living with profound, life-altering trauma, and discussions like this demand sensitivity and a commitment to truth—neither of which was present here.

tutorgurl23Survival foreverI am once again asking for a full time Blair braverman Sarah Marshall podcast
-
EandajacoboMiss Mike HobbsYou’re wrong about Pamela Anderson
-
Easyskeezy1GoodI like it
-
Chuck FrankDisappointingFor a show with such a smug, authoritative title, it should really do a better job of gathering basic facts before feeding its audience a narrative. Thinking about the phones and mental health episode in particular. Please consult actual research / researchers instead of an internet culture “journalist”.

Why we diedIt helps!Listening to “Singing in the New Year” for the second time in a row because I just want to stay in this head space a little longer. Makes me feel like it can all be worth it sometimes and I don’t want to go back to work-a-holic-ing all my feelings away.
-
Twinsmom0726Great hostsEasy and informative listen
-
Bring back MichaelBring back the old formatNot as good after Michael left. Sarah and Michael had such good chemistry they could make any story interesting to listen to.

EzEMcLeanFavorite way to spend my timeOne of your many “ideal, neurodivergent” listeners. ☺️

weaveremily83Santa epThe Santa ep made me so happy. I felt especially seen as a mom who is Santa who also does wrap the Santa gifts in special paper. My kids are 10 and 12, and I have no intention of stopping.

Wally H. DogAlways a great listen, but….How do you manage to do a hour and 16 minute show on the cola wars without talking about the Pepsi Challenge?
-
TMnSDThe host is constantly trying to prove that she winning the woke warI’m sorry - I just can’t … for the Cola War episode the host actually chastised the head of Coca-Cola for making a statement back in the 60s supporting MLK. As if that was the least he could do. MLK was assassinated not too long after that. So the country was clearly divided. Really divided. But the host was like whatever. Please don’t put today’s values on yesterday. I think those in the past who went out on a limb to statement should be thanked. Not everyone has the perch you do.
-
haleyriceMy favorite podcastThe podcast that explains all that stuff Billy Joel says in the 1989 smash hit, “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”
-
Yesenia O. MartinezCould do without.I could do without the annoying sounds coming from the host, and she tends to come off as smug and uninterested. I appreciate banter and laughs as much as the next person, but I didn’t enjoy it very much in the Elizabeth Bathory episode. Sorry.
-
pinky2anneAbsolute faveMy only always-listen podcast. Smart, compassionate, thoughtful, funny. Great mix of topics and guests. I still think about episodes from years ago.
-
cindibethRelaxed, yet Wildly Informative and FunShe has the best guests on her show and she is the best. She’s So smart and even keeled and informed. She shares her knowledge and perspective like a mentor or a friend without pushing. She has changed my mind and outlook many times and enriched my life and thoughts. I’m grateful and a better person. One of the biggest changes for me is compassion for EVERYONE. There are no monsters. Only people. Some are awful, but they are still people. And the divide between criminals and non-criminals is basically false most of the time. Love her and her guests. I don’t always agree but I pretty much always learn. And I definitely always respect and appreciate Sarah Marshall.
-
thegoodbygirlMore Princess Weekes!Love the truly random and interesting topics Sarah and her guests get into and what they tell us about history and society. Also, more Princess Weekes, please!

omgmfnx ncjjdeNatural Melatoninthis isn’t an insult, this is the only podcast that will put me to sleep now when my brain won’t shut down. I fall asleep about 15 minutes into an episode. absolutely love this podcast because if it
-
Strange MercyIt seemed goodI liked a few episodes until I listened to a subject I was extremely familiar with. After 3 minutes, the managed to get four important facts wrong. Ir’s especially lazy when video of a hearing could be found on Youtube. It makes me question what was said on topics I am not familiar with.
-
Krista WalshGone downhill without cohostThis show really worked in the past bc the premise was tight and the chemistry between the cohosts was great. Without a cohost, the guests change up the show too much and the topics feel a little all over the place. So it now feels super hir or miss (could be extremely boring or extremely lacking in research / nuance, depending on guest) Sarah is a fun and smart person but not sure she’s a strong producer of the show and definitely could benefit from a cohost balancing out her takes with more research and a different perspective
-
Pema_ÖzerChemistry and Editing CritiqueI used to love the show when Hobbs was cohost. The editing was refreshing and the chemistry was delightful. Both timing and overall chemistry are no longer present. The research does not appear to be lacking, just the delivery. Chemistry: Other criticisms here targeting the personalities involved are inaccurate and boring. Marshall continues to be witty and charismatic and her guests are interesting. Despite this, there feels like there’s a disconnect — which admittedly may be my own resistance to change. Editing: Other podcasts I’ve listened to have a lot of wasted space — all manner of things unrelated to the subject matter and endless laughter that eventually feels alienating rather than inviting. YWA has entered this territory for me. All this being said, I’m confident Marshall has the wit and charisma to reclaim me as a listener — my only wishes are she finds an excellent partner and editing be prioritized.
-
CC719CCNeeds more focus and editingI’ve been listening to You’re Wrong About for years now, back to the days with Michael as co-host, but lately I find myself either skipping episodes that sound entirely uninteresting, or listening and not finding it is interesting as it used to be. While some of the episodes in the “Sarah only” era are ok (the Blair Braverman ones in particular are great), the quality varies so widely depending on which friend of hers is the main narrator of the story, and many of the episodes are in dire need of better editing. And really, I’ll die happy if I never hear Sarah refer to “Newsies” ever again. Her non sequiturs and irrelevant references are incredibly grating after awhile, particularly when the same esoteric things are brought up over and over.
-
Dye-jobSmugly wrongIf you’re under 40, this may appeal to you. Otherwise, this podcast just sounds like 2 ppl smugly reading “facts” off of wikipedia. Do some real research. Especially with the “Snuff film” ep. Jesus. They were really talking about “mondo” movies. Look up what a “snuff” film really is. Actually…. don’t do that
-
bai36Just OkJust started listening, and have listened to about 10 episodes. Not sure I can listen to more— Sarah’s(?) voice is so whiny sounding at times, and her noises that she makes (the little laughs, oh gods, mmmhm, etc.) when she is listening to the other host drive me insane. Not only are the sounds bizarre, but they make her sound uninterested in what the other person is saying. Ugh. It’s just hard when it’s a podcast and you are just listening to have such annoying sounds.
-
AmSparrowThis is my favorite podI’ve been a listener for 7 years and I am still delighted by the perspective of this content. Sarah is always bringing to light the complexity and nuance that comes along with these topics, honoring the many social paradoxes we continue to encounter as listeners.
-
SixfootprincessHmmI liked all of it, except the woman constantly makes the most annoying “hmm” noises when she’s active listening. Be quiet!
-
ChshreCatSarah needs a cohostThoroughly enjoyed the show when Michael was there, they focused on knowledge and were biased but not overwhelmingly. Sarah on her own with only her handpicked friends as guests is unbearably biased and seems more interested in sharing and shoring up her own views than in learning anything. Show went from discussion to echo chamber. Sarah needs a regular cohost that will reign her in and challenge her previously held ideas, would love to have her interact with someone that doesn’t necessarily agree with her.
-
painted_deerPhone It InUsed to love this show, but shocked by the lack of data on the phone episode. There are valid studies showing phones are damaging student’s attention spans, tech literary, and critical thinking skills. Disappointed and unsubscribed.
-
Bratislava23GratingI don’t consider this to be journalism. It’s just two people, particularly Sarah, making a bunch of smarmy, unfunny comments about a serious topic. I couldn’t get past the first 15 minutes.
-
Fluffster NormalpawsLoud. Laughing. What is with the maniacal laughing of these presenters. It’s not that funny. The content ranges from smirk-level to absolutely not funny at all. This laughing is grating and loud. I have to turn down the volume for it. I could really do without that.
