    Approachable and Insightful
Melvin does a masterful job of interviewing a variety of experts, and offering his own insights. I am not a mental health professional, but I still gain a lot of value from this show. I highly recommend it!

    Thoughtful, brave, kind
I am not a therapist but this podcast is top notch! Mel is thoughtful, brave, and kind. He is a gifted speaker who shares in an authentic and personal way. He has a niche to be sure but his lessons transcend (especially if you are interest in creating content online). He is a gift to the podcast feed!

    What?
This podcast has such a high rating that I listen to one from time to time to find one of the gems other people see, BUT I’m always sorely disappointed! This is one of the most useless podcasts. Please don’t waste your time!!!!!!

A Wonderfully Helpful Podcast for Entrepreneurs
I was recently the featured guest (Ep. 271) on the Selling the Couch podcast with Melvin Varghese! We had a lovely conversation and it was a true honor for me! On the surface we discussed marketing videos for counseling practices, but in reality we discussed deeply human themes of suffering, authenticity, vulnerability, and depth psychology. Melvin is a truly delightful human and an excellent podcast host! Be sure to check out the Selling the Couch podcast and follow the Selling the Couch Facebook group, particularly if you are a therapist (or any small business owner really). There is so much excellent and useful content both on the podcast and in the Selling the Couch Facebook Group!

    Voice like butter
Melvin seems to be a wizard at conjuring a specific kind of conversational space that invites the humanity of the guest and the casual listener. Listening to Melvin talk feels like I’m having a 5th cup of camomile tea at a bed and breakfast in rural Appalachia. Thanks Melvin for providing a space for us to feel generous with each other and connect as private practice therapists.

    Great Podcast :)
Melvin is a great interviewer! As a featured guest and long time listener, talking with him feels effortless. He is like that long time friend from grade school or those favorite pair of slippers you hang on to from move to move. But then, out of nowhere, he drops these little nuggets of business mentorship and you don’t know it until days later when you’re thinking “What would Melvin do.” I can go on and on. Thank you Melvin for this podcast. I’ve learned a ton :)

The business advice you don’t get in grad school
Melvin and his highly qualified and inspirational guests deliver sound business advice with a genuine focus on service and helping clients. I love hearing about how other therapists are being innovative, creative and making a difference in the world through their work while also learning about new and better ways to grow and serve in my own practice.

    Episode 212
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Melvin, for this episode about your own struggles with depression and anxiety—and what helps you navigate through. For a variety of reasons, this is often a hidden topic in our community...despite how widespread it is. I would love to hear more on the subject. I so appreciate the sensitivity and genuineness your voice consistently provides.

This podcast has tons of substance
One of my favorite podcasts!! So many valuable insights and very practical. I always take away several points from each episode that I can implement in my own life and practice. My private practice would not be where it is today without implementing many of the things I have heard on the show. Keep up the great work!

    Too much fluff
Like many podcasts out there, these are too “fluffy.” Like a sandwich with too much bread, there is simply not enough meat. Melvin uses a lot of fluff talk before actually getting to the “meat” of the topic. I find myself frequently pressing the “skip 30s” button. I appreciate what he is trying to do, but he fails short of delivering enough meat to make listening to these podcasts worth my time.

Amazing content for therapists-all in one spot
This Podcast has sparked my creativity as a therapist, given me insight into my field and what others are doing that is working, and made an otherwise often isolated profession feel more connected!

    Excellent resources
This appears to be a solid podcast for people just getting into the therapy business. There are a lot of details like one's state requirements where you must begin, but the content of this podcast does a great job addressing generatlities that apply to all terapists regardless of location.

This podcast is truly from the heart!
I cannot say enough great things about Melvin and his podcast. As a person, he is so kind and so caring, and that shines through in such a way on his podcast that you feel like you are part of a warm and nurturing family... all that just by listening! Professionally, he is so talented and so smart, and he gets on a deeper level what is really important to his listeners, but more importantly, what is really important in life. I feel honored to be a part of the Selling the Couch family, and I highly recommend this podcast to any clinician, regardless of where you are on your personal therapist journey!

    Therapists & Court! EEEEK
Melvin, Thank you for letting me share some of what I have learned in my career as it relates to court testimony and prep. Subpoena's happen, so by being prepared you can reduce the impact it can have on your practice and on you as a therapist emotionally. We do such important work. It is important to protect our work and by having a strong court policy we can do just that. I love your podcasts because you cover so many important topics. It is such a value to our community. I am honored to be included and am truly grateful for the opportunity to share what I do and how I help our colleagues. Thank you Melvin.

    Helpful resource
Selling the Couch is more than just a podcast, though that's certainly an important aspect. Melvin is a thoughtful professional whose STC podcast and group provide great support to therapists. Interacting with him, both in the podcast (I was interviewed for his 120th episode), and beyond, has always been a great experience. Highly recommended.

An essential podcast for mental health practitioners
This podcast is the reason that my practice is successful. I started my practice in May 2015 but was so anxious and nervous I was getting in my own way. Melvin and his guests spoke to all my uncertainties and worries in a way that helped me stay focused on what I can control about my practice so that I could keep moving forward. The tips, tools and shared experience are so helpful as I continue to grow. Thank you Melvin for your blood, sweat and tears that you put into this and thank you to all of the guests that share their knowledge and experience. Please keep making more episodes :)

What I didn't learn in 25 yrs of practice
I love Marvins interview style- his curiosity and enthusiasm bring out the best of each guest! I've learned so many things I never learned in school and even more that I've not learned in 25 years of practice. I;ve never been one to take short cuts, but I'd strongly advise newer practitioners to take this "Therapy Business 101"! Bravo
