Ghostbusters: Resurrection

60

Bustin’ makes us feel good! Ghostbusters: Resurrection is an unofficial RPG audio drama about America’s newest Ghostbusting team. It’s been over twenty years since the world was last saved by The Ghostbusters of New York. Ghosts are a rare sight these days and people have once again grown skeptical. But now, ghost sightings are on the rise in Central Florida. In a desperate attempt to keep Orlando's image as “the vacation capital of the world” unbesmirched; the mayor cuts a deal to start a new ghostbusting franchise. Ghostbusters: Resurrection is an actual-play podcast using the classic, 1980s Ghostbusters roleplaying game to tell cinematic, spectre-smashing adventures.

The best podcast ever 😁I mean it 👻👻
I ❤️ this podcast!!! I accidentally started on season 3 and it was painful to go back and stay on season 1 because I was so hooked!! I usually have a favorite character but I can’t decide. I love the element of Laforge (I hope I spelled that right) punching the crap out of the ghosts!! Over all perfect show and characters. And the story lines are perfectly written! And the comedy is amazing!!

    BEST PODCAST EVER!!!
When I am in school or at home drawing, I turn on one of the ghostbusters episodes one and let my imagination show me the story, and also for extra fun, I put my characters in the story and visualize them busting the ghosts. Love the content guys!!!! Let’s save our Halloween! Good luck!!

    Headcanon
This production is so good that I place it in my personal headcanon of Ghostbusters lore. I re-listen, as often as I rewatch the movies.

The Best Ghostbusters Continuation Out There
This series REALLY captures the spirit of what makes the Ghostbusters franchise so great! I would really love to see these guys brought into the canon via comics, animation, games, etc. Hilarious and sometimes legitimately creepy, this podcast is so worth your time!

    Love this series
I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve listened to all 3 seasons. Perfect fit to the original movies and video. The group has a ton of chemistry.

    Intermission
Love this group. But there is a advertisement for batwoman in the middle of the show. Is apple doing that now?

    Worth tell your friends about!
I’ve binge listened this podcast twice and I still can’t get enough of this show! The dynamic of the team and the way the team works together makes my day brighter. I can’t wait to find out what happens after, “Bone Zone”!

    Audio fun!
As someone who never played D&D or got much into role playing, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this. By episode 3 I was so hooked I was hooked. Just listening to the banter between the characters, how the GM narrates the adventure and provides descriptions with just enough detail that the imagination just takes over. On top of all that, the sound effects and music that was added to it was perfect for keeping the mood and adding the extra details needed to make the scene work. Definitely great to listen to if you like science fiction or ghost stories, especially good if you’re a fan of the ghostbusters movie because I feel the really captured the tone of the first movie very well! Can’t wait for the S3 hiatus to end!

My Favorite Actual Play RPG Podcast
This is one of my all time favorite podcasts, hands down! The chemistry between the crew is great, and Doug does a fantastic job in the double duty role of GM and editor of the podcast. It feels like an extension of the world that the movies inhabited, which is really great. The best part about this, though, is the fact that these guys introduced me to this wonderful game, which has given me and my friends countless hours of joy. Everything about this podcast just works, the system they use, the dynamic between all the players, the music and sound effects, the comedic moments, all of those details are what make it feel so special.

    So much fun!
I hope the hiatus ends soon because I have so much fun listening to you guys play this game. My two sons listen with me and we ordered the game to play ourselves!

    Surprisingly good!
I have to admit, I wasn't that excited listening to a Ghostbusters themed podcast but a friend talked me into it and I'm so glad they did! The GM does a fantastic job of weaving smaller episodes into a larger narrative, and the players are really creative and fun to listen to. Tobin is the best. PS: I've now put together my own beach kit, Smirnoff Ice FTW!

One of my favorite actual play podcasts
I am so happy to see they came back. This is one of my favorite podcasts. This is better then Dungeons and Dorritos but a long shot.

This is the reason I started listening to Nerdy Show
"Let's say this Twinkie represents a normal joke. According to this morning's sample, this joke would be a Twinkie 35 feet long, weighing approximately 600 pounds." "That's a frequent reference."

    Just discovered... Premium-quality RPG
Just discovered GB: Resurrection through a Crossrip recommendation. This is easilly one of the cleanest, easy to follow, well-produced, polished audio RPGs I've ever had the pleasure of sampling. Burning through Season 1 now!

Truly great and stuffed with fun.
This podcast is all around fun. They have put a lot of work into the production and the story. The characters come across amazingly and don't seem forced. This pod cast is also just packed with great references to all sorts of t.v. Shows, movies, video games, and more. The descriptions and choices give paint an amazing mind picture. All of this and it's respectful to the ghostbusters we know and love and is totally believable in there world. I suggest this as a listen for everyone.

    should be cannon
After being disappointed with the latest ghostbusters. i am contented with my original ghostbusters, and this rpg radio drama. Laughs are genuine, ghosts are real, property damage is extensive so sign the waiver and enjoy

    I believe!
Smart, funny and full of crazy ghosts! What's not to love? Highly recommended!!!

    Your Busting Dreams Come True
Who doesn't love Ghostbusters? Many people that I know didn't even know there was a Ghostbusters tabletop RPG, let alone an audio drama based on the system with such great production. If you haven't listened to this before, you are truly, truly missing out.

    Nuff said.
Absolutely the best Ghostbusters podcast I've listened to. The best quality blend of Ghostbusters, and Tabletop RPG possible. They keep the feel of the original Ghostbusters movies intact with their own brand of humor and action as well as the unique stories their DM weaves.

Binged and Loved Busting so much!
I binged while at work recently and could not get enough busting with the Central Florida Ghostbustersa! I need more of this in my life, and so does any other red-blooded Ghostbusters fan! The music, the roleplaying, it toyed with my emotions so many times and brought happy tears to my eyes every time they beat the big bad of a season (and laughs at the B Guy in epilogue #1) Keep it up, looking forward to Season 3 and wondering what you'll bust next! If you can, come to the northern lands, we got a bridge in Minneapolis that has been causing suicides for decades needs busting!

    Great Story, Great GM
As a casual fan of the Ghostbusters movies I thought this looked interesting but I wasn't drooling for it- until I got invested into the first season. Then new episodes couldn't come quickly enough. The GM who runs these games has an amazing feel for how to keep a story moving but also let the players play fast and loose with jury-rigged equipment and hairbrained schemes, without ever giving the sense that he's putting them back on the rails to keep them from wandering too far afield. Compared to the D&D show, characterization can be a bit weak- sometimes I forget who's talking to who, without the funny voices and exaggeratedly inhuman mannerisms- but the overall flow of the action carries this podcast.

    Hilarious!
This podcast matches all of the intrigue of a radio play with the goofball antics of sitting around a table with friends and rolling dice. A must-listen for any Ghosthead!

    GBR: Consistently Great
I am a fan of role-playing podcasts and Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters: Resurrection is a perfect melding of both. The team has an incredible group dynamic and Doug is an amazing gamemaster. I look forward to many more seasons!

    My favorite RPG Podcast!
There are tons of superb RPG shows on iTunes, and on Nerdy Show itself, but this one takes the cake for me. This crew captured the heart of ghostbusting - the action, the laughs, the scares - and does it in style. They run off of the original Ghostbusters tabletop system - how nerdy is that - and add a heaping dose of special effects to make the shows sound, well, AUTHENTIC. If you're gonna start from scratch, try out season 1's "The Mutineer", it has my favorite payoff to a bust for one episode. So get your positive energy going, and give these guys a listen!

Feels like Ghostbusters. I mean that as the highest compliment.
Ghostbusters is an easy thing to get wrong, tonally, I've found. You can either be too silly, and lose the stakes, or too serious and married to the minutia of the canon and lose sight of the humor. GB:R really nails this balance--characters are goofy but grounded, the stakes are real, but there's always room for jokes, the action scenes are just the right balance of wild and restrained (the players know when to cite Ghostbusters protocol and when to fly by the seat of their pants) and it's exciting as often as it is hilarious.

    Who Ya Gonna Call?
I've been a lifelong fan of Ghostbusters. These guys are easily my second favorite Ghostbustering team. They've done a truly amazing job of keeping the spirit of the original movies alive. The cast is hilarious and play off each other amazingly well, especially when you realize that, as a tabletop roleplaying podcast, the entire show is improvised. The sound quality is great and the addition of all our favorite sound effects and music just enhances the experience. Bottom line: If you love Ghostbusters, you'll love this because it IS Ghostbusters.

    They've got one!
Quality "cinematic" podcast that captuers the spirit of the original films. I often relisten to my favorite episodes and find myself cracking up every time.

    Greetings from Haunted Florida
This is an RPG podcast, meaning four or five players sit around a table with their drinks, character sheets, and dice. They go on an adventure. The game is recorded, edited, and things like sound effects and music are added to make the experience more vivid, and the result is a mixture of RPG and radio play. The story set-ups are exciting enough, but what sells this game is the chemistry between the players. These guys WILL make you laugh out loud and wonder why you ever go anywhere without a beach kit. Add laser guns, wanton destruction of public property, a few lonelyhearts looking for love, and all manner of things going bump in the night, and you’ve got a recipe for a highly entertaining podcast you won’t want to miss.

    Busting makes me feel good
This is a high quality show. They players are fun and the sounds production is top notch. Before I listened to this show Ghostbusters was just a vaguely remembered thing from my childhood. After listening though, I've gone and rewatched the movies, played the games, and bought the comics just to get more. The movies were the original, but this show carries on the spirit.

    Fantastic and Funny!
The quality of this is wonderful! I love the touches of sound effects to the story, the sound beds...the group really gets along and everything just flows so well! Great job to this group!
