WilliMiaNew listener but glad I’ve found you!I’m so excited to have found this podcast. Initially I started listening as I was looking to find a podcast on ideas/what to do/what not to do in becoming an expat in Italy. I’ve listened to like 20 episodes in the last few days and love not only hearing the good, the bad, but the in between as well. You ladies have done a great job making it feel like it isn’t just informative but also entertaining. I like that you keep it fairly short but in that short amount of time a lot of info comes through. I even appreciate hearing not just about experiences in Italy but other cities/countries. And I love when your humor comes through!

Erin mermaidLiving the Life of Dreams!I’ve always been fascinated with exploring other places and cultures outside the US. I didn’t get the chance to travel until after raising kids and sending them off to see the world. I finally took off to Europe in my 60’s, and with the knowledge, experience & tips I’ve gained from listening to this podcast, I am traveling like I always dreamed I would. The Bittersweet Life podcast, with Tiffany in Rome, and Katy in Seattle, explores all the bittersweet of travel, life abroad, LIFE experiences/changes/growth, with guests, like: expats, adventurists, writers & contributing listeners worldwide - sharing the bitter & the sweet of realizing dreams & living our lives with purpose and passion 🍫 Tiffany & Katy, who’ve been friends since 11 years old, are well-versed interviewers and great storytellers, with deep familiarity of their subjects and each other, as a listener I resonate easily and feel as if they are speaking directly to my longings. There is so much content to dig into from their archives of 10 years, plus they respond to listeners questions, that provide many examples of how to approach your wildest dreams. I recommend that if you’re tempted to taste the Bittersweet Life podcast, take a bite and if you want more, start from the beginning with Katy and Tiffany together in Rome. It’s a beautiful trip, the bitter and the sweet! 🇮🇪

Seattle artist LindaLMTBest of Both Known WorldsI have been listening since the very beginning and years later I am still entertained and enlightened by Katy and Tiffany. I live in Seattle and knew of Katy as the producer of one of my favorite local morning news programs. When I first saw her doing an interview “live”; I was completely impressed by her. She is competent, confident, and sincerely enthusiastic (I am older, so I am impressed by such things). The Bittersweet Life is as enjoyable as it is because we have the privilege of listening-in on the conversations of two intelligent, thoughtful and extraordinary young women. It’s true. Most importantly we get to hear about life in my beloved Italy and for a Seattleite the local twist and connection. What could be better? Niente.

Luddite3A great companionWrapping Christmas gifts, working on one of my projects or cooking a meal, Tiffany and Katie keep me company, provide entertainment and get me thinking. Frequently I end up bringing their conversation to our dinner table — what makes a travel experience memorable, the difference between dabbling or exploring a new interest, the nuances of language. They make me laugh. They make me think. Great podcast! And the production quality is superb!

DianamoLove these twoI love how Katy and Tiffany are just so open-minded, and their fascination with the world inspires me. Not just a travel pod, definitely a life pod.

kdbpvKdbpvI've been listening to this podcast for many years. It is truly excellent. It's not only for those that have been expats or those who love Italy although those folks will absolutely love "The Bittersweet Life". It is filled with so many interesting topics that relate to just being a human being in the world with a side of adventure. The friendship between Katy and Tiffany makes this podcast even more lovely.

Noemi0209Be prepared to smileThis podcasts consistently transports me back to Italy and helps me reminisce on past travels. It is possible for a podcast, and the conversations of two friends whom you’ve never met, to bring a smile to your face and instantly brighten your day.
-
RLL100Layers to appreciateI like the way Tiffany and Katy talk to each other as old friends, and I like the way the show explores how people change, move on, just live. Moving to Rome serves as a kind of metaphor for how to experience the world.
-
michellinamnLovely podcastKatie and Tiffany are almost like best friends that I think I know, but I never met. I’m a dual citizen who grew up in Rome and moved to the States, and this podcast is SO spot on on many aspects. The Italian / American cultural differences are explained so well in the context of their lives and interesting topics. It’s truly wonderful and I’ve recommended to many friends. I started listening during pandemic and never stopped. Keep going!
-
stevie bk nyItalophile or not- Katy & Tiffany……are beautiful tour guides to both Rome, Seattle & beyond. Perfect for those concretely considering the leap or idealistic dreamers who choose to keep their feet on the ground. After several years of supporting, I consider them both acquaintances and almost friends. Buon viaggio a tutti!

Mia H 2727The Bittersweet Life- you have to listen to itThis podcast is just so satisfying to listen to. I am of Italian descent and an italophilia.I would love to travel more to Italy but not able to at this time. This podcast makes me feel like I’m there. Helps you to understand every day life and not just be a tourist. Don’t miss this podcast! You won’t be disappointed!

Madi Grace NMakes the Best of Times out of the Worst of TimesI found this podcast while I was in the darkest part of the pandemic and found myself desperately missing Italy and planning for a trip that I had no date set for yet when I found these lovely ladies. Through my desire to learn more about Italy, I found myself learning about so many more things that I had never even thought about researching that I feel like I’ve travelled the globe twice over without ever leaving home. If you’re in need of travel tips, life tips, companionship, or even commiseration, look no further. This is truly the every-woman’s podcast and it will expand your mind and your travel bucket list.
-
TammischneidsSounds just like my travels to ItalyI fell in love with the people and culture of Italy. Spending time with Tiffany and Katy is the best way to get my fix-for now. I love each episode and the intro music, bells, and sirens makes me smile. Thank you ladies.
-
LeahlmassThrilled I found this podcastEven though I only recently found this podcast, Katy and Tiffany feel like old friends. If you dream of traveling more or just want to escape through learning about the experiences of others, time spend with these ladies (and their multitude of terrific guests) is never wasted. I’m certainly hooked! Highly recommend and have shared with my podcast-loving friends!

sarapostorinoRelatable and interestingI love this podcast for it’s intelligent, compassionate and thoughtful conversations. I’m a Seattle-raised expat currently living in Italy and relate greatly to these 2 women and their curious hearts. Highly recommend, thank you Katy and Tiffany!

AimeeDTDelightful to listen to friends connect across borders.Katy and Tiffany bring two different perspectives from two different countries - within one relationship that stands the test of time and distance. Each Bittersweet Life episode always entertains me, distracts me, speaks to me, educates me and/or inspires me. I never truly know what each week will bring... But, I’m always ready!

Flwerpow5Outstanding!The Bittersweet Life will certainly satisfy any expat cravings, but it is so much more than that as Katy and Tiffany offer a wide variety of educational and entertaining topics. Take a look at the available episodes that span back to 2014 with Katy’s first journey as an expat in Rome near her childhood friend and expat* Tiffany. Experience the warmth of a friendship that crosses thru the air waves. (Katy is currently in Seattle, WA and Tiffany resides in Rome, Italy with her young family.) Do yourself a favor and listen to a random episode or two and then, as Katy suggests, subscribe and go back to the beginning and make the journey to present day. Katy has a background as a radio host and producer so the audio quality and interviews are first rate. Tiffany is an author and tour guide with extensive knowledge of Rome and Italian history. She provides insightful tourist advice for eating, drinking, sleeping and touring Rome on a budget. Like Italian history? Listen to the Borgia episode. Check out the December 2020 reposting of the virtual audio tour of Rome. My absolute favorite episodes are with Katy and Tiffany, but I also appreciate the variety of guest speakers from authors, celebrities, and friends. *One subject, expat or immigrant for Tiffany, discussed in an episode!

_.Daniel._Love having this one to come back toEspecially since COVID set in, it’s been great to hear a perspective from someplace else in the world as to what life and cities are like and what people are experiencing. To have it all come from Rome through the eyes of an expat is a bonus! I appreciate the hand crafted qualities of the podcast, too.
-
Carla4311Conversation among friendsI love listening to Katy and Tiffany. Over the years I feel like they are my dear friends joining me for a coffee or walk as I listen each week <3 I first discovered the show because of my love for Rome and have stayed listening for years. Thank you ladies!

curiousappetiteHang on every word kinda pod!I’ve been living in Florence for 8 years and am from Seattle and find this podcast extremely lovely to listen to as I prepare dinner. It has gotten me thru when I stuck in SF during lockdown and is offering a glimpse into life back home now I’m back in Florence plus I get to learn more about Rome! Brave ragazze

Sam LacanDeep entertaining experiences for travel junkiesKatie and Tiffany have a unique New York Times Sunday read type of quality to their podcasts. For travel dreamers like myself, I can imagine living in Rome not just for the sights and sounds but all what life has to offer. Starting from the first episode you learn the journey of an American expat who finds her home in Rome. I enjoyed the intelligent human interest stories of neighbors, in laws, family and the deep topics like values and violence. Thanks Katie and Tiffany for sharing your friendship and lives on the Bitter Sweet Life and keep up the good work.

Nancyfrom100thEp<3Interesting, soothing, and inspiring!I’m loving this podcast. The backlog of episodes pre-corona is totally priceless. If you miss the days when you could travel, or even just make plans to follow your dreams whatever they may be, the pre-corona episodes will save you. The hosts are also so smart, thoughtful, and care so much about the subjects they address. It is so great to get their take on current events and the future of international travel/living. Highly recommend for the soothing, uplifting, and insightful content. Thank you Katie and Tiffany!
-
ProsecoPrincessThis podcast is keeping me sane!I recently started listening to this podcast while doing evening walks after working from home, and I really look forward to my Monday & Thursday walks and these podcasts! I initially started listening because I love Rome but these podcasts are so much more than a glimpse into Rome, although there is plenty of that. In the few weeks I’ve been listening I feel as if I’ve learned so much from Katie & Tiffany...life in Italy, life in Seattle, books, authors, travel and so much more! Thank you ladies for making my evenings so enjoyable!

valmiloThis podcast speaks to soul!I love love love this podcast. I’m Italian American and I grew up in Texas. I never felt like I fit in and I’ve always loved and been curious about Italy. I’m an artist and when I was young I used to listen to opera and try to teach myself Italian. I feel like I am kindred spirits with Tiffany & Katy! I secretly dream of living in Italy. This podcast is my sweet indulgence that nourishes my soul. It keeps me connected to my dream.

Carson GlasscockEccellente!I have been listening to the podcast for about 6 months and can only say they are excellent! Look forward to the new ones and have enjoyed listening to the archives. The podcast on money saving tips in Rome was spot on. Tiffany is a star shining in the eternal city ...

georgemandisMore than just travelYou can call this a "travel" podcast, but I think that misses the mark a little. Certainly that's the underlying theme and impetus for how it was started, but the hosts bring their so much of themselves into the show it feels more like listening in on meanginful conversations between close friends. It's touching, sweet and humorous. Stumbled across it years ago and one of a small handful I've consistently kept subscribed to.
-
M&M0503Great podcastI love listening to Tiffany and Katy every week.

nanoo9888My favorite podcastLike tea with a friend.
-
BrockhausekFeels like coffee with good friendsWhether you've lived abroad or love to travel (or just want to do either of those things!) this podcast explores every theme related to the topic through interesting interviews and frank conversation. I love listening to Katy and Tiffany each week. It feels so much like coffee with good friends sometimes I forget they can't hear me too as I laugh or nod along to what they are saying. I always leave with a lot of food for reflection as well. Highly recommend.

italygurlAll Roads, both physical and spiritual, lead to Roma! The Bittersweet Life podcast is one I came to relatively late but have rabidly caught up and now wait for! I feel such a kinship of spirit with Katy and Tiffany.. they seem as different aspects of my personality and I enjoy the topics, the banter and the artistic bent of the narrative. Rome calls me and I respond as often as possible. The podcast broaches subject and soundscapes that quell, at least temporarily, my longing for Italy. The inclusion of a dare I submitted really made me feel a weird sense of attachment and pride lol! (Tiffany has a beautiful voice!) Viva la podcast! I look forward to the Caravaggio book! Katy is a consummate producer and I’m sure the future of both hosts is filled with magic that I intend to listen to! Ciao bella! Brenda
-
wolfie_malmöWonderful step into their livesI heard about this podcast from the expat sandwich podcast. These two ladies reminded me of my long time friend and myself. We have begun listening to it separately as we live quite far apart and enjoying it very much.
-
halls8888I love hearing about life from the bittersweet life perspectiveTwo smart, interesting hosts and lots of fun guests!
-
Marley TitoAll who wander are not lostKaty and Tiffany remind us of this. I found this podcast while yearning for my second city - Rome. Now that I’m skipping around seasons, I’m hooked on their discussions about more than Rome or Italy or travel. But the lifestyle of making getting oneself lost with everywhere and anywhere to go.
-
Savvy listener#2Patricia MorosicI look forward to Katy and Tiffany's podcast "The Bittersweet Life" each week. Their commentations are always informative, fascinating and I learn a lot about Italy and life in general. They make me laugh. Drop in on their conversation - it's like reading a good book and it just keeps getting better and better. You hate for it to end.
-
subbacubbasubaGreat PodcastI love The Bittersweet Life, the conversations, the tidbits about Italy. Makes me want to go back!

Mrfoo12Love, love, loveI can’t believe it took me so long to find this podcast, I am totally hooked! Listening every day on my way to work is a pleasure. I’ve been obsessed with Italy for years and listening to the interviews and stories from other expats as well as Katy and Tiffany has given me so much to think about. I started studying Italian again and dreaming of someday making the move overseas. I feel like Katy and Tiffany are my personal friends now, more more more please!

Kaull girlPerfectThe Bittersweet Life is my favorite podcast. I’ve been listening from the very first episode. I love the interaction between these life long friends; it’s easy, genuine, and inspiring. They always make me think with their topic choices and guests and I find myself dreaming each week about a life lived abroad and adventures that may await me. They never hesitate to invite us in to their world and participate in the ride. Thank you Katy and Tiffany for your honesty, genuineness, and depth in a sea of trivial podcasts.
-
Stepharoo72Great show - deserves a wider audienceLiterally have laughed and cried while listening and also find myself wishing I could chime in while listening to these two friends talk

ChristinaMAmaSono grata!!A very well done, thoughtful, thought-provoking show that will line the hearts of expat listeners with a sense of comfort. There is a unique language that international living teaches, and it is so good to be understood. Wherever you are living, however in transition--this is a great resource. No one has life's answers, but how joyous to ask the questions!! Grazie a voi
-
MaryeulaliaGreat podcast!I enjoy this podcast so much! I have lived abroad as a student and I dream of one day living abroad with my own family. This definitely inspires me to want to make it happen somehow. I also love Rome as a travel destination so I love the tips and hearing about Italian culture.

B-HeeleyAn Enjoyable In-depth Look into Expat LifeAn absolutely relatable and enjoyable in-depth look into expat life, attachement to people and places, travel, and personal growth. Also, lots about Rome, which happens to my current home of choice! I enjoy listening to Katy and Tiffany so much. Not only can I relate, but I am inspired and remember experiences and moments that I had forgotten about living in differnt countries and cultures. I often laugh aloud in public while listening. xxx
-
Ben~206A podcast for expats, travelers and all of us who wish to be one. When the podcast first started, it was hard waiting each week for a new episode, so I set the podcast aside (for too long). Now I can podcast and chill (or in my case work). The episodes flow in and out telling the story, adventure and interviews by 2 near life long friends. Tiffany who has been living in Rome for more than 10 years and Katy who in the beginning is moving to Rome for just 1 year. They are both very talented, entertaining and funny. I feel like I should say more, but really you need to stop reading this and listen. It is wonderful, you will agree.
-
ecljikoGreat ListenHaving studied and then lived abroad in Siena, Italy for a few years this podcast brings back many feelings of nostalgia. I love hearing tidbits about Rome and all the various topics they discuss. Would and have recommended it to friends!
