I’m so excited to have found this podcast. Initially I started listening as I was looking to find a podcast on ideas/what to do/what not to do in becoming an expat in Italy. I’ve listened to like 20 episodes in the last few days and love not only hearing the good, the bad, but the in between as well. You ladies have done a great job making it feel like it isn’t just informative but also entertaining. I like that you keep it fairly short but in that short amount of time a lot of info comes through. I even appreciate hearing not just about experiences in Italy but other cities/countries. And I love when your humor comes through!

I’ve always been fascinated with exploring other places and cultures outside the US. I didn’t get the chance to travel until after raising kids and sending them off to see the world. I finally took off to Europe in my 60’s, and with the knowledge, experience & tips I’ve gained from listening to this podcast, I am traveling like I always dreamed I would. The Bittersweet Life podcast, with Tiffany in Rome, and Katy in Seattle, explores all the bittersweet of travel, life abroad, LIFE experiences/changes/growth, with guests, like: expats, adventurists, writers & contributing listeners worldwide - sharing the bitter & the sweet of realizing dreams & living our lives with purpose and passion 🍫 Tiffany & Katy, who’ve been friends since 11 years old, are well-versed interviewers and great storytellers, with deep familiarity of their subjects and each other, as a listener I resonate easily and feel as if they are speaking directly to my longings. There is so much content to dig into from their archives of 10 years, plus they respond to listeners questions, that provide many examples of how to approach your wildest dreams. I recommend that if you’re tempted to taste the Bittersweet Life podcast, take a bite and if you want more, start from the beginning with Katy and Tiffany together in Rome. I have been listening since the very beginning and years later I am still entertained and enlightened by Katy and Tiffany. I live in Seattle and knew of Katy as the producer of one of my favorite local morning news programs. When I first saw her doing an interview “live”; I was completely impressed by her. She is competent, confident, and sincerely enthusiastic (I am older, so I am impressed by such things). The Bittersweet Life is as enjoyable as it is because we have the privilege of listening-in on the conversations of two intelligent, thoughtful and extraordinary young women. It’s true. Most importantly we get to hear about life in my beloved Italy and for a Seattleite the local twist and connection. What could be better? Niente.

Wrapping Christmas gifts, working on one of my projects or cooking a meal, Tiffany and Katie keep me company, provide entertainment and get me thinking. Frequently I end up bringing their conversation to our dinner table — what makes a travel experience memorable, the difference between dabbling or exploring a new interest, the nuances of language. They make me laugh. They make me think. Great podcast! And the production quality is superb!

I love how Katy and Tiffany are just so open-minded, and their fascination with the world inspires me. Not just a travel pod, definitely a life pod.

I've been listening to this podcast for many years. It is truly excellent. It's not only for those that have been expats or those who love Italy although those folks will absolutely love "The Bittersweet Life". It is filled with so many interesting topics that relate to just being a human being in the world with a side of adventure. The friendship between Katy and Tiffany makes this podcast even more lovely.

This podcasts consistently transports me back to Italy and helps me reminisce on past travels. It is possible for a podcast, and the conversations of two friends whom you’ve never met, to bring a smile to your face and instantly brighten your day.

I like the way Tiffany and Katy talk to each other as old friends, and I like the way the show explores how people change, move on, just live. Moving to Rome serves as a kind of metaphor for how to experience the world.

Katie and Tiffany are almost like best friends that I think I know, but I never met. I’m a dual citizen who grew up in Rome and moved to the States, and this podcast is SO spot on on many aspects. The Italian / American cultural differences are explained so well in the context of their lives and interesting topics. It’s truly wonderful and I’ve recommended to many friends. I started listening during pandemic and never stopped. Keep going!

This podcast is just so satisfying to listen to. I am of Italian descent and an italophilia.I would love to travel more to Italy but not able to at this time. I found this podcast while I was in the darkest part of the pandemic and found myself desperately missing Italy and planning for a trip that I had no date set for yet when I found these lovely ladies. Through my desire to learn more about Italy, I found myself learning about so many more things that I had never even thought about researching that I feel like I’ve travelled the globe twice over without ever leaving home. If you’re in need of travel tips, life tips, companionship, or even commiseration, look no further. This is truly the every-woman’s podcast and it will expand your mind and your travel bucket list.

I fell in love with the people and culture of Italy. Spending time with Tiffany and Katy is the best way to get my fix-for now. I love each episode and the intro music, bells, and sirens makes me smile. Thank you ladies.

Katie and Tiffany have a unique New York Times Sunday read type of quality to their podcasts. For travel dreamers like myself, I can imagine living in Rome not just for the sights and sounds but all what life has to offer. Starting from the first episode you learn the journey of an American expat who finds her home in Rome. I enjoyed the intelligent human interest stories of neighbors, in laws, family and the deep topics like values and violence. I’m loving this podcast. The backlog of episodes pre-corona is totally priceless. If you miss the days when you could travel, or even just make plans to follow your dreams whatever they may be, the pre-corona episodes will save you. I recently started listening to this podcast while doing evening walks after working from home, and I really look forward to my Monday & Thursday walks and these podcasts! I initially started listening because I love Rome but these podcasts are so much more than a glimpse into Rome, although there is plenty of that. In the few weeks I’ve been listening I feel as if I’ve learned so much from Katie & Tiffany...life in Italy, life in Seattle, books, authors, travel and so much more! I love love love this podcast. I’m Italian American and I grew up in Texas. I never felt like I fit in and I’ve always loved and been curious about Italy. I’m an artist and when I was young I used to listen to opera and try to teach myself Italian. I feel like I am kindred spirits with Tiffany & Katy! I secretly dream of living in Italy. This podcast is my sweet indulgence that nourishes my soul. It keeps me connected to my dream.

You can call this a "travel" podcast, but I think that misses the mark a little. Certainly that's the underlying theme and impetus for how it was started, but the hosts bring their so much of themselves into the show it feels more like listening in on meanginful conversations between close friends. It's touching, sweet and humorous. Stumbled across it years ago and one of a small handful I've consistently kept subscribed to.

I love listening to Katy and Tiffany each week. It feels so much like coffee with good friends sometimes I forget they can't hear me too as I laugh or nod along to what they are saying. I always leave with a lot of food for reflection as well. Highly recommend.

The Bittersweet Life podcast is one I came to relatively late but have rabidly caught up and now wait for! I feel such a kinship of spirit with Katy and Tiffany.. they seem as different aspects of my personality and I enjoy the topics, the banter and the artistic bent of the narrative. Rome calls me and I respond as often as possible. The podcast broaches subject and soundscapes that quell, at least temporarily, my longing for Italy. The inclusion of a dare I submitted really made me feel a weird sense of attachment and pride lol! (Tiffany has a beautiful voice!) Viva la podcast! I look forward to the Caravaggio book! I heard about this podcast from the expat sandwich podcast. These two ladies reminded me of my long time friend and myself. We have begun listening to it separately as we live quite far apart and enjoying it very much.

I enjoy this podcast so much! I have lived abroad as a student and I dream of one day living abroad with my own family. This definitely inspires me to want to make it happen somehow. I also love Rome as a travel destination so I love the tips and hearing about Italian culture.

Thiis is the first podcast i've ever tried, and I only wish I had descovered it sooner! Love their perspectives, insights, and sense of humor!

An absolutely relatable and enjoyable in-depth look into expat life, attachement to people and places, travel, and personal growth. Also, lots about Rome, which happens to my current home of choice! I enjoy listening to Katy and Tiffany so much. Not only can I relate, but I am inspired and remember experiences and moments that I had forgotten about living in differnt countries and cultures. When the podcast first started, it was hard waiting each week for a new episode, so I set the podcast aside (for too long). Now I can podcast and chill (or in my case work). The episodes flow in and out telling the story, adventure and interviews by 2 near life long friends. Tiffany who has been living in Rome for more than 10 years and Katy who in the beginning is moving to Rome for just 1 year. They are both very talented, entertaining and funny. I feel like I should say more, but really you need to stop reading this and listen. It is wonderful, you will agree.

Having studied and then lived abroad in Siena, Italy for a few years this podcast brings back many feelings of nostalgia. I love hearing tidbits about Rome and all the various topics they discuss. Would and have recommended it to friends!
