    Biased interview
The episode where the host interviews Sharon Seah regarding ASEAN I thought was one of the most biased and useless interviews I’ve come across. If you are going to bring in a biased person, have two people with opposing views and let’s hear a useful discussion. The host only very gently pushed back on Seah. And frankly the interview does not give me any indication of how reliable the survey this person Seah conducted really is.

    Excellent guests and content
Paul Haenle does a phenomenal job curating interesting, knowledgeable guests and showcasing their areas of expertise. This is an important show for people wanting to understand China’s growing global influence.

    Garbage
It started great, and I wanted to like this podcast. Midway through the show, I was listening to; I knew that this was just some academics spitballing ideas on how to force change on China. It presented itself as a balanced, unbiased podcast on developing cooperation between nations. Still, it quickly degraded into how we can contain China and enact regime change—holding the view that a relationship between the USA and China should mainly exist on the USA's terms.

    Soft
Have somebody like Steve Bannon or General Spalding. Let Kyle Bass come on and ask all these Bush and Obama soft guy's some real hard questions.

    China Apologist
While slow to anger and loathe to spend the time writing a review, this podcast brought me past the tipping point. So many softball questions, so many missed opportunities to pursue with an appropriate follow-up query. Paul may be a old China hand, but it appears he may have gone native.

    Worst interviews and bad audio
This is possibly the worst interview format podcast. The guests are boring and outdated. Please invest in an audio engineer or buy a good mic. I can barely hear the guest speaking. Turning up the volume only to be startled by the loud voice of the host. If I could thumb down this podcast forever, I would.

    The music though
Is it just me or the music in the beginning weirdly orientalist....

A Perfect Storm in U.S-China relations
As an individual who lives in Asia, I am glad that Daniel Russel no longer works in the government. I believe that all of the administrations from Truman on have gotten China wrong. Whether the current administration gets it right will see but if you think that the current leadership in China does not want to totally dominate the world as the truly all encompassing superpower who would be wrong. If we do not prevent this from happening our way of life as Americans will be negatively changed forever...

    Outstanding material
This is a great source for anyone who wants detailed info on China and the effect it is having on the world today. Excellent and knowable interviewers connecting with top notch experts in a variety of subfields of Chinese foreign policy. As a professor in that field myself, I think this is a great resource for students and faculty alike.

    Excellent Podcast
I really look forward to hearing new interviews. The people Paul has are very knowledgeable. My only complaint is that it has not been frequent enough lately. It was over a month since the last podcast.

Best podcast for understanding China Foreign Policy
Unique in that both international and Chinese scholars are featured. Provides a new perspective on Chinese foreign policy that can't be found with other podcasts and is a top source for understanding China's Growing Role in the world.

    Interesting Guests
I enjoy how the guests of this podcast have extensive experience actually working in the region and that their related background is described in the course of the conversation. I mention this specifically because it is not always the case that podcasts/news segments focusing on China include these aspects. ---Kori Cooper
