This show is always on point and really takes pride in doing the small things right in regards to show prep and quality!

Covers a wide range of topics related to the hobby relevant for try-hards as well as new comers. gives updates on rule changes and events as well as possible future changes. also covers diverse topics related to the hobby in general such as how to grow the game in your area, 3d printing, color blindness or how to combat burnout. a lot of high level review of tactics and army lists is often included along with interviews of players at events. the current main hosts rob p and jeremy d do a great job of spreading the joy of this game in a way that makes you want to get involved.

After getting interested in KoW, I went looking for a pod to listen to to get more information. Countercharge is the reason I took the plunge into the game. The episodes are really helpful and the pod’s Facebook group is awesome. Can’t recommend this podcast enough. Thanks for doing this for the community.

When I started considering dipping my toe in wargaming, I happened upon this podcast and listened to a few episodes to get a player perspective feel of the game. Their army reviews are what sealed the deal, but they always have good guests and a diversity of topics from the hobby side, to the fluff side, to very detailed deep-dives on different army types. Definitely the best way to dive into the game when you aren’t actually at the table.

I'm slowly building an army to play with my husband, but I listen to counter charge with him while he is busy painting away and I'm cooking or feeding the baby. It's one of the few things we can have on when the nephew is around thanks to the language staying kid friendly. The episodes where they recap players games at tournaments is really nice, they get in depth with the players over what works well for them and some of the strategies they use, which is great for someone who is still trying to figure out how everything works. Keep up the great work guys!

When I found Counter Charge Podcast early in 2016 I had just started playing tabletop wargames. Since my discovery of the podcast, I feel more vested in the community, I learned valuable hobby skills, tabletop strategy, basing techniques and my painting has improved! Upcoming events, tournament reviews, interviews with miniature makers, discussions with Mantic's KoW rules committee, and game by game recaps with major tournament winners/placers are just a few of the things you'll find by listening to Countercharge. One of my personal favorite parts is going around and asking everyone on that show what they're up to hobby-wise.

Rob has done an excellent job with a series of episodes interviewing individuals throughout the US, to see how the Kings of War community is growing. The podcast is very beginner friendly, explaining various components of the game, while still maintains a high level of content relavent to veterans. It is the premier Kings of War cast.

I have always been interested in miniatures gaming and was very curious about Mantic's offerrings. This podcast does a great job of focusing on the Mantic universe. The podcast has started off in a very polished manner (from an audio production perspective) and the commentary is fun and witty. What drew me here was Mark Z whom I listen to on the Dice Tower and on The Boardgame Piratecast. I like the style of this podcast and look forward to more! Perhaps they will convince me to take the plunge into the world of Mantic miniatures!
