    Best Family History Podcast
I been listening to this podcast for years. I am glad I found it when I first began my hobby of family genealogist. Fisher gives a lot of great stories that underscore the best reason to learn about our ancestors- their personal story. He also gives great tips & advice. Love all his guests & experts too. Keep up the good work Fisher.

None Better: EXTREME GENES GENEALOGY PODCASTS
Scott Fisher, David Allen Lambert and guests educate, enlighten, inspire, inform and delight with every podcast! Extreme Genes is far from a monologue or interview based program focused on genealogy. Not at all! Extreme Genes is more like a genealogy variety show. EG blends history, world events and then extant real people whom we may call ancestors. “Fish” replaces variety show singing, dance, skits, guests and gags with story, characters, history, expertise and fun! Each podcast is simply stellar, multi-topical, fascinatingly educational replete with expert and ordinary guests who teach, inform and inspire listeners to keep digging into our family roots. Every Extreme Genes podcast is an extraordinary cornucopia of fun, historical/ancestral education, compelling trivia, interesting Q& As, human interest and exciting discoveries. It’s just the right length podcast too because there’s not a dull moment.

I’m an amateur genealogist and family historian, like so many others. I have learned so much from this podcast since I started listening several years ago, and it has really helped me grow as a genealogist and stay on top of current happenings in the the genealogy community. I would recommend this to anyone looking to know more about how to get started on their own family tree or to learn more about how to do family history. It’s also an engaging and fun show! Top Notch Genealogy Help & Interesting Stories
I've listend to this podcast with host Scott Fisher for several years and always learn something new to help me in my genealogy research. Covers all the bases. Professionally done with a planned segmented format each week and just the right length to enjoy on a nice walk. Transcribed also which is helpful. It's not just great, it is the best!

    The best!
This is the only genealogy podcast I listen to regularly, and I have tried many. The magazine format moves along without dragging, the features are interesting, and I pick up little bits to try out later. David Allen Lambert adds a conversational tone to the start of each episode, and featured guests are knowledgeable.

The guests are excellent and I especially like when David Allen Lambert joins in. I have not been able to do much in person research but have been researching from home for over a decade. Same Annoying Ads Every Episode
There us some good info on this podcast, but I can't listen to it unless my hands are free to ff past the ads, which means I seldom add it to my playlist. Every one of those tired old ads has something extremely annoying about it! One example: "When's the last time you...If the reason is..." Reason for what??? The ad assumes a certain answer to the question, which is poor writing! Simply adding, "If it's been a while because..." would help mitigate the problem with that ad. And the ad that claims knowing about family history makes for better academic progress? Nonsense. The premise ignores the fact that (if it's even true) it's because of other factors about the types of families in which a study of family genealogy is likely, not because introducing family history to a kid will improve grades. I could go on, but you get the idea. And even non BS ads get annoying after endless repetition. Get new ads!

    Best Genealogy Show
Podcast listener here and this is my favorite genealogy show. The interviews with real people about their own genealogical and historical research and discoveries are so fascinating. I’m always sharing these shows with non-geni friends and family (especially while driving), and they get just as excited hearing these stories as I do. Thanns for all the great shows and I’m happy to keep on listening and sharing!

Good Podcast, but Skip the Last 10 Mins
Interesting podcast with interesting guests. Would have rated this as a five, except for the following: 1 Star reduced for the “Preservation Authority” segment that accounts for the last 10 minutes of every show. After a few episodes, I quickly realized that I would be consistently skipping this segment. It’s basically an extended commercial in the guise of, “I’m going to tell you how to do this yourself, but if you want a professional, you can always send the work to us.” The credibility of this segment would be GREATLY improved by having a guest each week, possibly from one of the many libraries or state archives to provide tips from truly professional archivists. With 52 states, you’d think you could fill up a year’s worth of shows with a guest from one of the state archives for each week. Half a Star was deducted for the inclusion of an inordinate number of commercials. At least 15 minutes of each podcast is nothing but commercials. To retain podcast subscribers, the number of commercials needs to be reduced.... charge more for the commercial time to compensate, if necessary, but the ratio between real content and commercials is way out of whack. Finally, another half Star was reduced because the podcast is over-produced.... Loud music that goes on too long, corny attempts at humor, and a little too much of a 1970’s radio announcer voice were big turn off’s for me at first. I’ve learned to accept it, because the news segment and guests are interesting. In summary, this is definitely a good podcast, and I am a loyal listener. I recommend the podcast, but I did want to provide some concrete ideas on how I think it could be improved.

Everything a Genealogy a Podcast should be
Fisher keeps it going in a lively fashion. He always has relevant guests and at times the interviews are a wee short. Would love to keep this one like it is but have him do another podcast maybe every other month that might me one or two interviews extended with relevant topics. This is one of my top favorite podcasts

    Great Info
I like Fisher's format although the commercials are a bit boring every episode. That said, I have used some of his advertisers so they are not worthless, just aa touch boring. All in all, a geat listen and learn podcast.
