My go-to after work wind down
I was looking for a knitting podcast for awhile...was searching for just the right blend of entertainment + education + knitting nerd-dom. Well, if you’re on the hunt like I was, search no more! Shiny Bees covers such a wide range of topics, and provides just the right blend of “comedy + yarn in equally large measures”

    Great podcast!
I discovered this podcast recently, and I absolutely love it. I decided to start from the beginning, listening to at least one episode per day while knitting or spinning. I especially enjoy the interviews, and I have to say it’s inspiring to hear how various people in the fiber industry got started and advice they may have for anyone considering jumping in.

    So Much Fun!
Despite being happily married (to a husband who knits!!), I find that I do have a good deal of alone time while knitting or spinning. Jo makes it like I have a hilarious friend who enjoys having a drink and a laugh with me while I'm playing with fiber. I wish I had known about this podcast sooner--I'm still working my way through catching up from the beginning, while also grabbing the newer episodes as they drop. I love every minute! As an American, I thoroughly enjoy learning about South Africa and areas of the UK. Keep up the fun, girl!

All the best aspects of fiber fun
This podcast manages to encapsulate all that is wonderful and good and fun and delightful about crafting. It is warm and funny; newsy and thought-provoking; supportive and snarky; interesting, challenging, bold, and ever-encouraging, with a perfect balance of progressiveness and respect for tradition. Jo provides great perspective and shares awesome interviews with fascinating people. If you are a crafter, you should recognize yourself and feel well-welcomed here. If you’re not yet a crafter and wonder what the fuss is about, Shinybees will help you find out. I give it all the stars I have to give.

    Fun, unique podcast
Shinybees is one of two podcasts nearly guaranteed to make me laugh out loud at least once. A great mix of knitting content, great, often irreverent humor, and serious social issues.

Yarn, humor, and food for thought
Jo's podcast is an irreverant sojurn through the yarn world, with plenty of humor. Opinonated, yes she is, but in good spirit and often in a provactive way. Love it.

    Always interesting!
Jo is always interesting and has great guests. She’s funny and irreverent. Sometimes I don’t understand a word here & there (she has an accent [said the woman from Georgia, US], but the podcast is never a waste of time.

I'm so happy that Jo is back! I love listening to this podcast. I love that Jo shares opinions honestly and that her podcast isn't the same as all the others. I look forward to each one.

    Just discovered Shnybees!
Besides being a fun podcast, it is thought provoking and interesting. I learned something new recently from Shinybees, fish and chips with gravy and smashed peas is a good thing. Haven't tried them myself, but having lived in England many years ago, I never saw fish and chips served that way. See? All kinds of topics are discussed. Give Shinybees a listen.

    In My Top 5
I found Jo's podcast 2 months ago and have been bingeing to catch up on the old ones (up to Episode 67) while listening to the new ones. She has a great balance of knitting knowledge and interviews, family, travel, and humor, with the heaviest emphasis on the knitting. Her voice and delivery are delightful. Her style is natural and engaging. I try lots of podcasts and dump those with: 1. vocal fry that cooks your ears 2. hosts more engaged with themselves than the audience 3. too much emphasis on cute kid and animal stories 4. arrogant hosts and guests, the "I'm here because I'm wonderful and you're not, poor you" 5. amateur technical glitches 6. constant sales pitches Shinybees is a keeper. Thanks, Jo!

    Not a Fan
Jo's accent is difficult for me to listen to for long periods of time. Also I've listened to 3 episodes at random and didn't see the "comedy" element I was hoping for.
