    Excitement for everyone!
Carrie’s energy and excitement — whether about running, career, family, or passion projects — is infectious! I love the variety of guests she brings on her show (I especially loved hearing from Susan Ejore, who apparently had never done a podcast before despite being one of the best 1500m runners in the world) and her ability to make everyone feel comfortable and get excited about their own accomplishments. It’s also interesting to hear Carrie’s insights as a former pro runner/Olympian sprinkled throughout. Thank you for putting a spotlight on folks who aren’t superstars, but may incredible in their own right or on the brink of a breakout season — we want to hear from them too!!

    What the heck
Why put out an episode which c sounds like everyone is under water.

    Engaging and fun podcast
Carrie does a great job of bringing in a variety of running-related guests and then drawing them out of their shells. This isn’t necessary for all guests, but many are clearly introverts and Carrie’s gentle approach helps us to learn who these people really are. I particularly liked the episode with Shalaya Kipp—I’d love to hear her on more podcasts! I remember her food blog from her earlier days; such a talented human. Adding a vote to work on the podcast volume issues: the guests are usually very quiet compared to Carrie and this is hard when wearing headphones while at work! A lot of volume adjusting. Thanks for doing this work to lift people up!

    Fun, insightful
I love listening to Carrie’s interviews. She has the perspective of an elite athlete and clearly cares so much about lifting others up and seeing the good in people. I love her attitude! She is wonderful to listen to!

    Host sound too loud
I like the podcast, great guests but the hosts sound quality is significantly louder when she talks versus her guests so it makes it very difficult to listen as I have to turn the volume down and up depending on who is talking. It’s like that every episode and worse when listening with my AirPods. I don’t know if she needs to talk further away from her mic but it would definitely make a difference in the overall episode quality.

    So enthusiastic!
Carrie is such a great host. So knowledgeable yet so down to earth.

Love the interviews, but the sound quality is awful
Basically the title. I enjoy the interviews and have been a subscriber for probably 3-4 years. But during this whole time the sound quality makes it really hard to listen, I often stop the episode half way because it becomes unbearable. The guests are very quiet, and Carrie’s volume goes from very quiet to randomly startling screaming. Time after time I keep coming back to the podcast in hopes that the sound quality has been fixed, but nothing. In this day and age there are so many resources available for assistance. I really hope some day Carrie will finally work on this aspect as I really do enjoy the podcast overall.

    Episode 167
The interview with Julie Weiss was amazing. Her story brought tears to my eyes and also brought a smile at the same time. My dad also died very quickly with cancer and my sister in-law died of pancreatic cancer, so lots of connections for me. Thank you for your podcasts.

    butterscotch dessert bars
Love the Minnesota food talk! I think those are what we call scotcheroos in Iowa and Nebraska . 😬
  • Mira Scarvalone
    racially insensitive
In the most recent episode (287), the host mocks a Japanese accent of one of her professors in college (around minute 28). I was pretty shocked when I heard this and it should be removed from the podcast.

    Keep on Keepin’ It Real
Finally a podcast that peeks behind the curtain as to what elite running is real-ly like! With her home-grown, Minnesota-based charm, Carrie brings to every show, one feels a part of “the tribe” even though 99.5% of us are mere mortals and will never be Olympians or elite level athletes. She helps bring to the surface all that elites have to deal with, just like the rest of our running community and more- NADA testing as one example. Thanks for “Keeping it Real” Carrie and for bringing our community together! Can’t wait for the next episode- as a PC grad I’ve been keeping “track” of Emily S. and it was great to hear from her on the last episode.

    Love this show
Love this show. Love hearing about from the pros. As a back of the packer, I like to hear from the elite runners. Loved the episode with Sarah and Molly Huddle! Thanks for the great, real and honest content!

Continual audio issues + Sara Vaughn
I want to listen to this podcast, but the continual audio changes where Carrie is super loud but the guest is really quiet make it a no go for me. I have to constantly change the volume, and it’s so distracting I can’t even listen. The episode with Sara was better, but ending with saying of course Puma would sign a nice lady - come on.

    Jacqueline Hansen
Thank you for sharing Jacqueline’s story. I overlooked her efforts in bringing equality to females in track and field. She truly has the fine line between grace and guts figured out. As an educator, I love the quote, “You can’t guarantee equal outcome, but you can guarantee equal opportunities.“ Great interview as always, Carrie!

Good content marred by poor audio
I wish she’d realize how much the poor audio quality and high scratchy sounds detract from an otherwise worthy running podcast. Maybe get some professional audio help?

    Once Good now an Infomercial
At one time this podcast featured people of interest to the running community. Some runners, some non-runners, some well known and some not known or at least until the podcast aired, but most were absorbing and had something to share with the listeners. Recently most episodes devolved into a hype for Generation UCAN, sometimes clumsily and awkwardly forcing the subject of UCAN into the conversation. I actually like the product and use it religiously and I understand the need to get sponsors for what amounts to free content. However I would rather listen to a commercial then listen to contrived conversations. The most recent episode with the founder of Goodr was more than I am willing to listen to. So for now I’ll select only episodes with guests I have heard of and see how that goes. This is a shame because I do like learning to people I am not familiar with.

    Great interviewer
Really love the way she questions the guest. Keep it up Disappointed that there were no women on the NBC commentary for the marathon. They actually had a British man. Really?? Wish you had been there to comment

Great podcast to learn more about the sport of running in a fun and inviting manner. Carries positive attitude and energy provides for an environment where carrie connects with new runners to elites. Thanks for continuing to champion the sport.

    More episodes!
My 9 year old daughter and I listen to this podcast together. Last night she asked why Carrie only has one episode per week :) Thank you for providing relevant content, inspiring the next generation of runners, and feeling like you could be everyone’s best friend!! Love this podcast

    Upbeat and fun
Carrie is a super positive presence who also knows her stuff; the hours of research she does for her broadcast work clearly comes across in her interviews. As an Olympian herself she can relate to the elites she has on—but she's just as comfortable talking to those who are just starting out or running for a purpose. I always learn a lot, and smile a lot.

    You’ve found the best!
Carrie is like your Olympic runner friend with whom you get to sit down and chat each week. At least that's how it feels when she talks to her guests. She is quite simply the nicest person in the running community. She is respected by everyone, is humble and unpretentious, and can relate to elite runners as well as everyday age-groupers like me. While she's aware of all aspects of what goes on in the world of running, she tries to look at the positives, and I appreciate this. She also shares some of her life with us, and that's fun too. In short, C Tolle Run will brighten your day!

    One of the best interviewers
Carrie’s broadcasting background makes her interviews so enjoyable to listen to. The Minnesota accent isn’t even bad after you get used to it. Being a former professional athlete herself, she knows all the right questions to ask, and her fun personality makes the interview enjoyable to listen to. Definitely one of my favorite running podcasts. I only wish they were longer!
