jamie is a crank that fits his feared “know-it-all political hobbyist” label better than anyone else. he has good takes on housing and metro legal but otherwise …..oh brother. it’s like listening to your deranged uncle who is marginally informed on nashville politics but doesn’t understand that his time of political relevance has passed him by and that he is out of touch with almost everything. even when he has good points the way he messages them is just so off-putting. Braden is just an inoffensive centrist who loves to “both sides” every issue and probably still believes in horseshoe theory. bless his heart. they will sometimes stumble into interesting guests and sometimes they overcome their lackluster chemistry for a moment of truly good banter but this show mostly leaves me lamenting the state of independent political analysis and media in davidson county. if you want to know what’s going on in local politics and can tolerate a fair share of “old man yells at sky” vibes- this is a fine place to start. just don’t expect any sort of useful or compelling analysis.

These folks are a great listen for me, mom of a Nash daughter, on local happenings. City problems seem to be universal and love the intelligent brainstorming (and humor, because sometimes all you can do is laugh). PS Didn’t realize Jason Isbell was official mayor of Nashville. These two do a great job covering most current topics in metro Nashville and the state. They have complimentary knowledge and experiences that allow them to intelligently discuss a variety of topics and pull in great guests too. I second the review that requested more female guests.

Easily the best local podcast. Great content and guests. While we don’t agree on many subjects, the presentation is great.

I’m no longer a last listener that hasn’t left a review. I find myself shaking my head during parts of this podcast and then strongly agreeing at other points. Really enjoy the unfiltered take on the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County.

This is a great podcast by two guys who have a deep knowledge and love of Nashville. Great place to get a deep dive on local issues.

Love the pod. Until recently I had no idea this existed. You get wonderful in-depth information on local and state government actions and inaction.

I love everything about this show, but my favorite part is when I listen at 1.25x speed (because I’m busy, dammit!), Braden sounds like he’s on speed and Jamie sounds like, well…Jamie. Related: at 1.25x, listening to Paul Kuharsky sounds like I’m attending a David Sedarís book reading about sportsball.

Finally! A accurate and entertaining way to find local metro info and current news.

PBN explores important issues, has great guests and gives them real time to talk. The hosts ask good questions and don’t fall into the trap of being overly solicitous. I find half of their takes wrong (sometimes downright wacky) and find myself yelling “C’mon guys!” or something more colorful every episode, but I eagerly await each episode’s drop.

Informative and fun. A must listen every week.

Generally, I feel Jaime to be constantly aggrieved, jaded, and hyper focused on his niche obsessions (ie the director of law and environmental court). Braden on the other hand comes off as a well meaning smooth-brain. Never the less, this podcast is extremely informative and interesting; five star worthy.

I’ll leave 5 stars because overall this is a good show: However listening to the Ben Eagles episode and all I can think of is “tell me Ben doesn’t live in Nashville without saying it”.

I’ve been searching for a podcast such as this one for a long time. As a lifelong Nashvillian I truly appreciate the work that Mr. Hollin and Mr. Gall put into producing this stellar podcast!

They have great discussions and excellent taste in guests, but Hollin’s opinions on historic zoning are suspect.

Hosts do a great job identifying issues that matter in Nashville and explaining important facts. Former Council* Member Jamie can’t see past his own preferences, so he’s often right, often wrong, but never in doubt. Entertaining and informative.

The most informative podcast/conversations about where Nashville is - and where it’s going, with no punches pulled. Solution-driven conversation and essentially appointment listening for anyone residing in the six-one-five. Bravo, gentlemen. Bravo.

These are the most informed and connected podcast hosts I’ve heard regarding the Nashville civics scene. Their ability to delve into the issues with high profile guests—while in an entertainingly informal manner—is unparalleled in the Nashville news media.

Finally - a respite from Metro Council fangirls and Metro Council haters, we have a former Metro Councilman and former Piggly Wiggly bagger, to speak rationally and intelligently (albeit with occasional scurrilousness) about the legislation, process, and antics of today’s elected body. I can only hope the new class will provide less fuel for the fire. But for the sake of this podcast, perhaps not!

Jamie’s adaption of environmental court is spot on. Looking forward to an episode on historical commission.

7/20/23 episode: The Metro Council member was talking about the attire of the council members, but her mouth/speech/language was very unprofessional during this episode. People wonder why there is not much respect for council members.
