My favorite politics podcast. I’m a huge JVL fan!

You know guys there are many other examples of presidents hiding physical and cognitive problems from the public. Wilson, FDR, Reagan are a few examples. Please don’t forget your party had this in their own hands twice. Convict for the obvious crimes he was impeached for. The people who voted for him are responsible for his election. Did the Biden team makes mistakes. Yes they were loyal to him and his presidency. The truth in politics would really be nice but alas we are forced to live with lies and deceit from our maga party of poison and death.

I won’t get through these next 4 years without you! The Next Level is essential for my welll-being - thank you for my weekly dose of sanity!! And also - you are NOT over-dunking on Biden! He and his unforgivable, irresponsible team are the reason we’re here in this (most likely) irreversible nightmare. Bringing up Biden and his terrible team of enablers is not looking backward - it’s helping us build a new identity, re-define our version of true public service, and leave his sorry and disgraceful legacy behind us. We must learn from the disastrous Biden White House mistakes - keep the lessons flowing! O

JVL, Sarah, and Tim start from different points on the political spectrum, from an ideological standpoint, but share an objective approach in their analysis of topics through the lens of belief in the foundational values of classical liberal democracy. Apologies for the rambling run-on of a sentence.

Thank you for fighting for America! If your podcasts were not here I’d definitely feel like I lived in the Twilight Zone. Your clear eyed observations and speaking the truth let me know this upside down chaos is where we are at BUT not where we have to stay. It feels good to know I am not alone.

Love the show (especially the “long shows”). So glad to hear voices that confirm that what I am seeing is what they are seeing! Best part of the show - making Sarah chuckle/giggle. Such joy!

I watched it last week. We are in deeper trouble than I even thought. Trump IS the SAVAGE MONSTER he calls immigrants. Watch movie- The Apprentice. George Conway and leading psychologists are correct; Trump is a malignant narcissist. He will not stop until he destroys everything he can. It’s his personality disorder and he will ONLY get worse. This is not about politics w Trump. The only people that stick with Trump are like him.

You are so articulate and provide concrete actions we can take. Love the guys, too, but you’re a shining star.

The performance of the ugly orange chimp and his side kick Vance in the Oval office was embarrassing and exposed the true nature of what America has become - how do you all sleep at night!

Guys, the federal government doesn’t keep voter registration records. It’s a state function, not a federal function. But nevertheless, people should make their voter registration records private, to elude mining of public data.

Sarah is great- analytical etc. I listen to Tim on his podcast &nice to catch him here but what does JVL bring? Too often sophomoric and no real depth-

Tim and JVL have gotten annoying (I quit listening to The Bulwark a couple months ago bc Tim’s snarkiness is just old now). Actually I guess JVL has been annoying for a long time (“Biden’s the greatest president ever” wut 😟). So I really just listen bc of Sarah. Wish she’d do her own daily—sans focus groups or George Conway.

Thank you Sarah for defending the belief that many (many!!) of us are horrified, did not vote for this, and are seeking about comprehensive and factual info. This American did mot want this at all.

You 3 together make me so happy! And I always appreciate all of your perspectives and discussions. Please keep it up!!! 🇺🇸✌🏽

I just wanted to mention that Senator Chris Murphy is one of the only voices in the Dem party who is really speaking truth to power on a consistent basis….please give him credit. He had an excellent appearance on Fast Politics a while ago, making great points. Thank you. Hopefully you will listen.

You guys were a little down today as are we all. Sarah injected a bright spot by saying that the overreach is happening and will eventually reach the attention of the public at large. I agree. There were and still are so many exhausted people who tuned out but voted anyway based on the misinformation spewed everywhere all the time by Trump Inc. But remember JVL, it’s not “the people” who don’t care. We care, we are out here, and we are “the people” too. I love you guys! Thank you all and especially Tim for his Bulwark Podcast too. One more thing. I wish we could discard the DEI campaign and use something simpler instead. Maybe “Fairness”. Who can oppose Fairness? Diversity, Equality, & Inclusion is a mouthful and too many don’t even understand the meaning of the words. So the concept, the term and the acronym have all been demonized. You can’t demonize Freedom but you can understand it.

For Pete’s sake, quit complaining that “people don’t care” or “no one is paying attention”. People are following the news. We are alarmed. We care deeply about what Trump and his authoritarian shock-and-awe phalanx is doing to the government. People are also frightened. You are self-indulging in cynicism when what we need is elucidation.

I laughed….I cried!! Excellent …Excellent!!! Come out to San Diego…Why don’t you come Here for a show??!! Doesn’t Everyone want to come to San Diego?? It’s beautiful…sunny & 74 degrees. Yep I wasted my time again with 2/3 of this pod. Every sentence out of Longwell’s mouth is dumber than the one before and Tim is just raging id venting thru a haze. Just let JVL have his own show already.

Good show as per usual. Much of what this administration has done these last 3 days is a beige too far. I disagree that people do not care that much about the gutting of all programs that have anything to do with fair practices in hiring and diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The fact that there hasn’t been a hue and cry though out the land I believe has more to do with the fact that there has been so many bad, horrific decisions made we in the general public are somewhat gobsmacked and still processing. So…keep doing what you’re doing and…give some of us a minute.

We need y’all! Please,please, please help us. Keep talking us thru these dark days.

JVL wrote it. I believe Sarah said it too. Yes! More more! Democrats, please. Make trump and the republicans in congress own every. single. thing. Every bill that comes up. Every problem that arises. When the stock market falls, when housing prices continue to go up, when it’s 100 degrees in DC in May or a forest fire breaks out in NJ, when there is a horrible shooting anywhere anytime, when there’s a labor shortage and you can’t get houses built or Nannie’s for your kids or produce across country, when bird flu morphs to the next pandemic, when the corporate and creative class of women are largely gone from red states, when the house GOP are having food fights over which christian bible should be in public schools and Mike Johnson is lap dogging on the dais,….when this or these or the next comes to pass, then Democrats, journalists, media, podcasters, everybody who has paid lip service ever to a democracy, PlEASE, demand, demand, demand answers every single second. Make Trump, his Maga Republicans and the cowards in the GOP own what they will have wrought. No bail outs. No compromises but for the Democrats agenda. Every second of every day call the question. Why don’t you just get it done? Why are things so bad? Where’s the fix?

Thank you, thank you, thank you for existing first of all. After Biden‘s catastrophic debate in June, I felt like I was losing my mind because the usual folks I listen to didn’t seem to be acknowledging the scare of the catastrophe. Now I’m a super regular listener and reader of the bulwark. Now — and I say this a lifelong progressive Dem — THANK YOU for “annihilating” as you put it Joe Biden on the most recent TNL. Anybody who has a problem with your having done that can shove it. Biden deserved it and more. He delivered Trump to the American people on a silver platter. Or in a flaming dumpster more like. Anyway thank you for being a sane voice out there!!

I’m a Trump supporter who agrees with his policies but cannot stand his pettiness or childish attitude. The reason why I listen to Bulwark podcasts is the very fact that they expose him. Keep it up

I’m here for Sarah and Tim. JVL stop. My god. The interruptions of the flow are driving me insane. Someone else needs to moderate this bc he has no sense of timing. The analysis is fine but it makes the show a tougher listen than it should be. Also! It’s a podcast. No one cares if it’s 47 vs 42 minutes. Stop cutting off the topic awkwardly. I really do love the show but please fix this.

This show is the best. Sarah, Tim and JVL are magic.

I laughed so hard at the 3 of you like siblings all yelling at each other! I needed a laugh looking into the abyss of 2025 and what we have coming at us. I am truly saddened by events. Don’t know what to do about it. But you 3 keep my spirits up!!!cheers! Love all 3 of you. B

Relentless condescension from Sarah and Tim to JVL, why??? They refer to each other as “best friends” but the way they talk to JVL is like they keep him around just to have someone to talk down to make their own opinions sound better. Hard to listen to.

Tune all of the other MSNBC / CNN political garbage out. Easily the best political podcast out there. Never miss one.

Dec 4 episode was awesome. Love Sarah’s stories about a conference she attended. The three were on fire for the entirety of the episode.

I am one of those “Liberals” that sometimes Tim etc refer to with a tinge of disparaging tone, it always feels unnecessary considering I’m here to learn and be open minded.

Tim: I don’t know who Nick Fury is, but that’s very wise. Sarah: he’s probably a wrestler. JVL: 🤦🏻‍♂️ First real laugh I’ve had all week. Thank you.

No matter how busy my week is, I do NOT miss this podcast. The analysis and insight is fantastic, but what I really appreciate about this show in particular is that JVL, Sarah, and Tim don’t leave their passion at the door. They wear their hearts on their sleeve and allow me to do the same in this crazy, scary time, but in a way that’s smart and productive. I’m so appreciative of their hard work. You guys ARE the real deal bulwark of our democracy, thank you.
