Zaq Flanary, the Script Keeper, has created a fun escapist podcast that will briefly take your mind out of our current social weirdness. From the short series Inside My Mind, where Zaq takes you on an audio journey through the chaos that is his brain, to Gunner Halifax, a sci-fi comedy show that follows the WORST human in the universe, we give your brain a reprieve from the daily grind and provide a humorous break. The show draws inspiration from the golden age of radio and tells serialized stories week by week. It’s also performed entirely by the Script Keeper and the many voices in his head!

    Easily the Most Ridiculous
    Podcast I have ever listened to, but I thoroughly enjoyed it - in the beginning. It quickly became more difficult to listen to or care about. Fell off my regular listen list for months. Finally circled back and one of the very first episodes I picked was basically an entire show bashing a completely different podcast/content creator - the same creator who is the reason I found skatcast to begin with. It got worse, though, because one of the very next episodes featured another ex employee of the previous podcast/boss. An employee who was fired APPROPRIATELY and with cause. Ex employee is not a victim. Skatcast clearly would rather throw in with that employee and excuse all his egregious acts. That is their right and choice. Just as I have the choice to stop listening. It’s insanely disappointing how these two act like their previous boss owes them anything.

    It’s really sad you have to try and throw shade at a better podcast to scrape together your own fan base. Maybe don’t protect a repeated cheater and someone who used a business space to get a little action.

    Not sure what I just listened to but for an hour and a half they just complained about being fired by a boss after calling him a cuñt at work and feeling sorry for another guy who had an affair at work with a subordinate. Did I get that right? Super weird and awkward for a first listen.

    You shouldn’t have a platform. You misrepresented information, making Joe seem like a victim when in fact he didn’t just cheat but also took advantage of a subordinate. It doesn’t matter if it was consensual, as she could not consent because of the power dynamic. How dare you back Joe - who not only cheated on his wife but betrayed one of his best friends, jeopardizing their business by having an inappropriate relationship while on the clock at the office! Shame on you for painting Joe as a victim. Your parting with BM was clearly deserved.

    The first episode listened to was the Rocky Mountain oysters one with Dave and Angus. I thought it was okay and went with my day like usual. That night I dreamt their voices and I had to come back the next day, I ended up binging all the episodes. Great voice acting, funny plots, and good music. 3/5 stars!

    I’ve listened to all of these and I’m still on the fence. I’ve wanted so badly to find gold here because the idea is great and for the connection to Timesuck and because I want peoples’ dreams to come true. It definitely has moments of hilariousness but it’s lacking a consistent level of quality in the writing. I also find his host voice impossible to accept. To me it sounds false and self conscious and I would rather not hear it. Overall I think it’s an ok show with lots of potential.

    Best enjoyed with gas station roller grill burrito skat droppings, and a sense of humor. I would have appreciated a trigger warning about the extremely vivid description of the molting process. I paid good money for that gas station club sandwich I just projectile vomited, and the turkey was my favorite shade of grey…..
