AbbieB4Educational AND entertaining! Not only is this a great way to stay fluid in French, but Gaelle finds truly interesting aspects of French culture and history to explore. In addition to picking up a few new vocabulary words and phrases per episode, you will also be exposed to fascinating information about the French-speaking world.

Je suis AnnegFrench comprehensionI am at a beginner level and I have been learning French for 8 months. This podcast is intermediate to advanced level French. While I was able to get the gist of the podcast the first time around. I had to listen to it three to four times to understand the details. I found the stories very informative and engaging. I haven’t reviewed the transcript yet but that is another advantage for this podcast.
-
FidelisimoExcellent “Comprehensible input”format for advanced-intermediate French learnersThis podcast is great for advanced-intermediate learners who wish to improve listening skills and learn advanced conversational vocabulary and grammar. Explanation in English is kept to a minimum: 97% French vs 3% English. Other podcasts “over-explain” in English and present very little French.
-
uiticaExcellent teacherGaelle is a fantastic communicator, and conveys the nuances of French with ease. I highly recommend her as a teacher, and her method of teaching is not haughty, or too inappropriately elevated, as was the case with my previous experience. She introduces new topics and phrases that hopefully will make the beginner more at ease in France.
-
ArbyLaneGreat for the B-1 level learner!Long enough to make it easy to listen to while doing task and just the right speed! Pretty much always learn something new or historical. I love this French podcast and have recommended it to several fellow Francophones!
-
Viktoria/22Great podcast for intermediate levelI really enjoy listening to this podcast, it’s really makes the language learning more fun and interesting.
-
Luke2222jdjeheGreat for French… Bad for ethicsThis is a great podcast for learning French, and I was really enjoying it until they released the episode about Simone Veil. The host champions her as an admirable woman because she survived the genocide of the Jews during WWII, and then went into French politics and supported abortion rights. Do the creators of this podcast fail to see the irony that Simone Veil escaped one genocide just to advocate for another?

RidesurfsailAll episodesLook forward to each new episode. The pace is perfect. The topic are fascinating. The delivery is wonderful. How lucky I am to have come across these podcasts.

old granny 2I love these!I'm not great at French--it takes me 2-3 times listening thru a podcast to get what's she's taking about. But she talks slowly enough that I can eventually make out the gist of it. Then I can read along on the website to dive in deeper. It's perfect! Thank you! I would love to hear one about being on an airplane and getttinf thru an airport. Thanks again!

Mark C 95Great for my class!I have four students in my French class. I recommended they all listen for added practice!

BOkie13Interesting topics, well produced, easy to understandThis is an excellent podcast for lower intermediate French learners. Gaëlle speaks very clearly and does a great job of pointing out relevant vocabulary, repeating certain key phrases or words and inserting funny asides from time to time. I especially like when she does a quick summary of the podcast at ‘regular speed’ French. I’m not sure who picks the topics but they are almost always interesting and often give the listener a little insight into French culture.

JoehjlThe best I ever had…I am intermediate and was looking to improve comprehending spoken French. This pod somehow found the perfect balance of 99% French.
-
FosterBerryLoving thisI just found this pod and am loving the slow french. It is interesting and on a level that I understand ❤️
-
Ireen98GoodBut I prefer just listening to French. Too many English remarks.
-
SherryTeachToo much English! At the start of the episode Gaëlle says that 99% of the podcast will be in French. Then at least every minute or less, she defines a word in English or proceeds to speak two or three sentences in English. I would make this podcast part of my learning, if she would quit doing that. But it is very distracting to my French listening and thinking for her to do all that language switching. It should be ALL in French!

Xxx jobu xxxOne of the bestHonestly it’s my favorite podcast to help with my listening skills. She speaks slow but not so slow that it’s annoying and you can get the complete transcript on their website. The link is in the podcast description so it makes it easy to find.

Buc FanWell Done and a great approach to learning FrenchNew subscriber here and not only is the method used very helpful, but the content is interesting. I like the way the host will interject English when helpful. I’ve only heard the Christmas one so far but it also held my interest because the host and I are in total accord on all points she raised (le consumérisme et d'autres questions). I’m at an intermediate level and will look forward to listening and following.
-
CSD VermontCSDGreat podcast. I have been trying to practice my French for years, but never found the correct learning environment for me. I do missions with Msf and they are always pushing me to improve my French. This podcast seems to really click for me.
-
500Great PodcastI love listening as I walk each morning. The lessons are just the right speed for me to understand. The topics are interesting and there is plenty of French unlike some other podcasts.
-
Marianne from LJfantastic podcast for advanced beginnersI am so glad I found this podcast. It is so easy to follow and yet I am still being challenged and am learning a lot. I look forward to every new episode. I’d love to have a daily broadcast, but now I’m just being greedy. Thank you Gaëlle!

Jordan NorwayGreat podcast for listening/understand and building vocabularyGaelle is lovely to listen to …. speaks slowly and vocab is usually repeated during the podcast for easier learning. I also love the interviews as this is real life with dialogue a tad faster. I especially love the podcasts on interviewing different people for different regions of France. Nice way to learn French and learn about different towns/cities/regions of France. I hope you do more!! It’s a great podcast for listening/understanding French and building your vocabulary. A+ Jordan
-
PorcbellyFantastic way to tune your ears to spoken FrenchI love Gaëlle voice in the podcast especially slowing down the reading and also throwing a bit of English for better understanding. Overall, for someone wanting to ‘catch’ spoken French this is fantastic. Highly recommended.
-
V. CampbellLearning French? Listen to this!I was thrilled to discover this podcast since I have gotten back to studying French after a long time away. I love Gael’s teaching style; she is clear in her explanations, goes at a good pace, uses relevant and interesting topics, and has excellent sound files and podcast scripts available to download on her website. I really enjoy and find benefit from learning French with Gael and hope you will check her podcast out too.
-
linqinkExcellent resource for late beginner/early intermediate learnersI’m at a plateau stage in my French learning right now, somewhere between A2 and B1. These podcasts are an excellent bridge resource for anyone in the same position. They’re easy enough to understand thanks to Gaël’s clear pronunciation and occasional English explanations, but they are pushing my vocabulary at the same time, so I’m picking up new words and verbal comprehension practice. To top it all off, the topics are actually interesting, which helps motivate me to keep going. Fantastic podcast!
-
colodude23456Incredibly helpfulI can’t get enough of these! I really notice a difference in my comprehension and it’s such great reinforcement to regular French practice.
-
-
Mark8390Unique and extremely helpful resourceI’ve found these episodes to be incredibly helpful. As a relatively new French learner, I find the speed just right (and hard to find elsehwere). Each episode allows me to actually hear and differentiate each word and contraction, which is great for both learning and confidence building. I typically listen first to build comprehension, then go back later and look up words I didn’t get. But this is such a relaxing and accessible way to help tune my ear, and I’m so grateful to Gaëlle and LanguaTalk for producing these. Please keep them coming. Merci!
