    Great Show!!!
Love the show guys. I can always depend on you for an honest and straight forward review. Please keep up the hard work. If I ever make it up that way I would love to share a pour of Blanton’s with you. Cheers!!!

Ran into Anthony in the parking lot of Justin’s House of Bourbon in Lexington. What a personable dude. This podcast is a great hang with honest reviews. Being a Lexington local makes it all the more enjoyable. Thanks for the solid content and genuine laughter.

    The absolute best!
Definitely my favorite whiskey podcast and probably my favorite podcast in general - though I may be biased considering Steven is my uncle. But in all seriousness, I’ve been an avid listener since day one. The friendly banter, food talk, and laughing fits make me feel like I’m sitting at the table BSing with my friends, and as a semi-career bartender I love hearing/learning about all these great whiskeys to help me be a better salesman for any relevant bottles that come through my bar. I’m patiently waiting to hear what you guys think of the Nomad Whiskey care package I sent yous *nudge nudge* and I’m looking forward to more bottle talk! On a semi-related unrelated related note - a buddy and I have a Cryptid podcast we do on Twitch every Tuesday called The Cryptid Files (shameless self promotion), and thought it might be a cool idea to have a ln unusual crossover with yous when we cover some Kentucky cryptids - we’d love to hear your thoughts on the idea! Keep up the great work! Cheers!

    Hilarious episode
Just listened to the Critenden episode and I cannot stop laughing. Sorry Stephen but Kenny is correct , Chick fil a chicken is FAR better than Caine’s. I truly enjoy yalls podcast. Unfortunately, a lot of whiskeys you try, I cannot get in VA since it is a controlled state. I am fairly new to whiskey so do you have any “shelfers” in the $45-$75 range that you would recommend? Keep up the wonderful enthusiasm. Thank you, Eric Powers.

Inspirational and Fun Bourbon Whiskey Talk
Heard you guys needed some more reviews and thought I’d hop on that! Love listening to your podcast each week; I am a part of the Whiskey Mishaps podcast with Jesse L., Jon S. Turner S. & Cade M. and your show’s been a big inspiration for us. Listening to the different reviews and blinds always gets me pumped up to do the same with the guys and enjoy some good pours as we laugh and talk about life. Bourbon is a great way to keep people connected and you guys have really helped enhance that for us. Would love to one day meet up and glean some whiskey and podcasting knowledge from you guys the experts! Cheers and looking forward to future episodes!

    Top 100
This whiskey of the year is not very helpful to casual listener. Seems like it’s more for y’all’s friends group and stroking your own ego. Your own barrel picks included? Really? And once again Kenny is criticizing other whiskey tubers. He is only one who does this.

    Best Bourbon Podcast!!!
I’m fairly new to the bourbon world and I have watched and listened to everything under the sun that has to do with bourbon. The Mash Up is the best on any platform that I have come across. It’s funny, to the point, and honest. They have helped me narrow down choices just off the reviews. I don’t know how I haven’t discovered them sooner but thank God that I did. Now I’m binging The Mash Up everyday eager to see what they are trying that day. So to that all the guys at The Mash Up thank you and cheers!!!
  • HunterS Bourbon Thanks
    Thank you!
These guys are wonderful! Honest, open, and real talk on whiskey, food, and life. Their reviews have helped me narrow down things I want to buy, try, or pass on. Genuinely love listening to these guys! Keep up the awesome work. And thank you for the tips on my trip to Kentucky!

    Fun Bourbon Conversations
This is a really fun podcast to listen to! It's just bros talking about whiskey. It feels like you just went to a bourbon tasting and you're listening to everybody's opinions about what they're tasting. I've really enjoyed listening. I also appreciate their honesty about not liking pours and the fact that Kenny emphasizes blind tastings almost every episode!

The perfect blend of whiskey talk and humor! 🥃
Hellllllloooooo! Love this podcast. A perfect mix of bourbon and light hearted humor. An added bonus, these guys really know their whiskey. I trust their reviews to help me decide on what is a good purchase. Cheers! 🥃

Love the podcast and the camaraderie
I started listening to the Mash Up a couple of years ago when we were driving from Northern Virginia up to Cleveland, Ohio to visit my in-laws. I downloaded a couple of episodes to listen to in the car and then went down the rabbit hole after loving the format and hearing the friendship and ball busting coming through. It reminded me of how me and my buddies are when we get together to drink whiskey. The addition of Kenny took it to another level and I love how he incorporated the blinds. Anyways, keep up the great work and I’ll be making it a point to try some River Roots next time we are up that way based upon the recent interview with those guys.
  • Someguyonacouchsomewhere
    Ditto
Basically what the last guy said…but up here in Canada the internet is slow and he beat me to it. Love the show, unfortunately our bourbon selection is severely lacking….and our Canadian whiskey is cat pee in comparison, almost everything is 80 proof, boring.. and this is from a guy who lives literally 6 miles from where Crown Royal is made. Keep up the great work guys.

The BEST Review you will read all week
In the ever-evolving tapestry of the podcasting landscape, few audio offerings manage to encapsulate the rich, complex, and nuanced world of bourbon quite like The Mash Up, a veritable auditory symposium hosted by the charismatic trio of Kenny, Anthony, and Stephen. This engaging podcast, which deftly marries the realms of spirited discourse and erudite exploration, invites listeners on a delightful journey through the multifaceted domain of bourbon—a distilled spirit that embodies not only a rich heritage but also a profound cultural significance that transcends mere consumption. From the very first episode, the astute listener is greeted by the mellifluous timbre of Kenny, whose expertise in the realm of bourbon is both extensive and infectious. His welcoming demeanor serves as the perfect gateway into the nuanced world of distillation, aging, and tasting notes, setting a warm, convivial tone that permeates each discussion. Kenny's ability to weave personal anecdotes with historical context creates a tapestry that is both educational and entertaining, ensuring that the audience is not merely passive recipients of information, but active participants in a shared narrative. Equally compelling is Anthony, whose penchant for critical analysis and keen observational wit adds a layer of sophistication to the proceedings. His incisive commentary often challenges conventional wisdom, encouraging listeners to engage in reflective thinking about the industry, its trends, and its evolving landscape. Anthony's capacity to pose thought-provoking questions propels the conversation forward, creating an engaging dialogue that delves deeply into the philosophy of bourbon appreciation. His sharp intellect shines as he deftly navigates topics ranging from production techniques to market dynamics, ensuring that each episode is imbued with a sense of urgency and relevance. Then there is Stephen, whose enthusiastic spirit serves as a refreshing counterpoint to his co-hosts’ more cerebral approaches. He embodies the joyful essence of bourbon culture, infusing the podcast with an exuberance that resonates with both novices and aficionados alike. Stephen’s knack for storytelling, interlaced with humor and camaraderie, creates an atmosphere that feels akin to gathering around a well-worn bar, sharing stories and laughter over a glass of finely aged whiskey. His ability to connect with guests and listeners alike fosters a sense of community, reinforcing the idea that bourbon is as much about the shared experience as it is about the liquid in the glass. As the trio delves into a myriad of topics—ranging from in-depth reviews of specific bourbon expressions to broader discussions about industry trends—their chemistry becomes palpably evident. The seamless interplay between their diverse perspectives not only enriches the content but also offers a microcosmic glimpse into the bourbon community itself. Their discussions are often punctuated by moments of levity, ensuring that even the most esoteric of topics remains accessible and engaging. One cannot discuss The Mash Up without acknowledging its commitment to inclusivity within the bourbon discourse. The hosts frequently welcome a diverse array of guests—distillers, brand ambassadors, and industry insiders—each contributing unique insights and personal narratives that further enhance the podcast’s richness. These conversations serve not merely as promotional exercises but as genuine explorations of the myriad ways bourbon intersects with culture, identity, and tradition. The thoughtful curation of guests exemplifies a dedication to fostering a deeper understanding of the spirit, elevating the podcast beyond the realm of mere entertainment. In terms of production quality, The Mash Up stands as a testament to the power of professionalism in podcasting. Each episode is meticulously crafted, with clear audio and thoughtful editing that enhances the overall listening experience. The hosts’ voices ring out with clarity, allowing for an immersive engagement with the content that is further complemented by strategic soundscapes and thematic music choices. This attention to detail not only underscores the hosts’ commitment to quality but also reflects a deep respect for the audience. In conclusion, The Mash Up is more than a mere bourbon podcast; it is an invitation to explore the depths of a time-honored tradition through the eyes of three knowledgeable and passionate hosts. Kenny, Anthony, and Stephen embody the spirit of conviviality and intellectual curiosity, creating a platform where both the casual listener and the seasoned connoisseur can find common ground. With each episode, the trio not only elevates the conversation surrounding bourbon but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the artistry and culture that define this beloved spirit. Thus, it is with great enthusiasm that I recommend The Mash Up to anyone seeking a richly layered auditory experience that is as enjoyable as it is enlightening.

Great podcast fellas! I love the reviews of easy to get bourbon to the hard to get bourbon! I can say I have used this podcast reviews of certain bottles to see what may or may not be good to buy secondary. I like the random blinds that Kenny gives you all. I love blinds and love how you all review the blinds. It’s been great listening and learning from you guys. I would love to try and drink with you guys sometimes and provide samples for you all to do. But lastly I have to know the back story of Total Wine jokes Anthony 😂 Cheers!

What a great listen. I truly appreciate the excellent insight provided by you guys on the podcast. In particular, I appreciate referencing the secondary prices of hard to find bottles during pass, try, buy; as that is the reality for a lot of us enthusiasts. I live in NJ and visit Lexington for Keeneland usually and love hearing you guys mention my favorite spots, in particular OBC Kitchen. I love trying their picks. Keep up the phenomenal content and hope to maybe catch you guys at Keeneland sometime to share a pour.

    Awesome trio of bourbon enthusiasts
It’s always a pleasure to fire up this podcast. The banter is fun and the reviews are great. The boys make my daily commute much more tolerable! I really enjoy when Kenny comes to Anthony’s way of thinking about Buffalo Trace. Remember Buffalo Trace didn’t start the fire, they just stoked it. 😉😆🔥🥃 I truly enjoy the reviews that include whiskies that are out of the box. Bourbons, ryes, American Malt among others help whiskey drinkers find different avenues to enjoy. Keep up the good work! I will keep listening!

    Good Friends and Good Bourbon
Really enjoy the show and how you keep it conversational and not snobby. I also appreciate that you do your best to keep it clean, so I don’t have to worry about young kids walking in and learning new words. We tried out Old Louisville on your suggestion on a recent bourbon trail trip and thoroughly enjoyed it! I would be interested in hearing you review Still Austin Cask Strength, Dragon’s Milk Origin from New Holland Brewing, or Stellum Rye! Each has surprised me recently. My friends (including Jesse L. and the others at Whiskey Mishaps/A37) and I continue to use your podcast as a way to keep in touch and find good whiskey recommendations. Thanks for your show! Jon S.

Must listen for any bourbon lover
An engineer, a college professor, and an appliance salesman walk into a bar… This is a refreshing and honest bourbon podcast for people who enjoy bourbon. This isn’t another review podcast that shills for bourbon brands because they get free stuff from the marketing department. They drink good bourbon and share their thoughts, good, bad, or otherwise. Come for the jokes and laughter, and stay for the blinds and pocket pours. A great listen at the gym or in the car. Cheers gents! Keep up the good work.

    Best Bourbon Talk
Having listened to no other bourbon talk, I can safely say this is indeed the best bourbon talk I’ve listened to. Truthfully, with all of the bourbon talk there is to be found on the Internet, these guys are truly the best. Great banter, great knowledge, and I guess, most importantly, great bourbon. I’ve now been through the entire catalog of episodes and look forward to more.

    Disney Bourbon
Been listening since late 2023, even as a facts optional podcast, y’all are very entertaining. I’m not sure where Anthony was staying but if you go to the right pool bar you can have a pretty good bourbon experience. Any pool bar should have Jack, and Knob Creek Disney Select, granted not bourbon centric, but even then you should be able to get a Dark ‘n Stormy or Jack & ginger for the pool. The French Quarter resort though has a nice selection of whiskies, mostly big 6 shelfers, but the pineapple mule uses Uncle Nearest 1884. Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge is another one worth a visit. There are hidden gems inside the parks as well. Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom is worth rope dropping and the Tempting Tigress may be the best drink on property. Restarauntosaurus Lounge is “literally“ a hole in the wall, but Jimmy is a wizard with a very limited bar. If you are a member of one of the FB drinking groups with a Disney problem, you know all about Jimmy.

    Great Podcast!
This group of guys is hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable about all things bourbon! Their insights and humor make each episode a delight to listen to. The way they break down different bourbons and share their experiences is both entertaining and educational. The unique juxtaposition of hosts personalities adds a special dynamic that sets this podcast apart. Whether you're a bourbon enthusiast or just starting to explore the world of whiskey, the mash up is a must-listen!

    Bourbon Networking
I first started listening to an episode where you had Ryan Alves on the podcast. I had just previously been able to join the Bourbon Junkies on a barrel pick where Ryan was also attending. Man is he a great dude or what?! As with many things networking to find new stuff is great in this industry chuck full of awesome people! I love the banter and insight into the industry that you all bring. Kenny adds another dimension to keep you on your toes. As I consume podcasts at a fast pace I have been making my way back through the episodes and enjoying them enough to leave this 5 star review. In a recent episode you mentioned attending a whiskey event and that made me think if you were interested in another we would love to see you at the Bourbon Junkies 3rd annual event Bourbon in the Barn in MI August 2nd-4th where I believe Ryan will be attending again this year. If not I hope someday I am lucky enough to run into all of you and maybe share a pour together. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Luke Stephens

For authenticity purposes this review isn’t all about Mr. Kenny Mills…. I couldn’t find Dads drinking bourbon anymore, so I had to find a filler for the spot and I landed on The Mash Up. I’m just kidding you guys were always in my rotation…. You had me at Hellooooooooooooooooooo and welcome. Kenny does bring a hilarious Kenny Powers angle to the show, with the trust me you don’t want to interview with us, it’s not going to go well for you. You guys get a 5 ⭐️ out me for your honest takes, and hilarious banter, with suspenseful blinds that have me on the edge of my seat. All I ask is that you give my homies The Bourbon Hunters podcast a 5 ⭐️ review in return. Come hang out with us in December at the Woodford Hotel during our annual bourbon blitz. Cheers fellas Sincerely your podcasting friend, JD Fritzges

    Kenny Mills Magic
Listener for about a year and a half. I have to say that the addition of Kenny Mills aka Kenny Thrills aka The Stiff-Nipped Wonder aka The Double Blind Bambino has made this show even better. The blinds give a point of reference on pours and make each and every episode relevant, regardless of whether or not the bottle being reviewed seems like something I would be into on the surface. It’s also created pretty stunning moments such as: 1924 beating a Birthday, Remus Gatsby over Michter’s 10, and let us not forget Kenny’s Nostradamus moment guessing the three pours in front of him. You guys rock. This show rocks.

    Love this podcast!
Guys do a great job! I appreciate the weekly updates & podcast drops! I enjoy the blind tastings along with your reviews of bottles common folk can find on the shelves. I know tastes are subjective, but I put myself on a limited budget for bourbon purchases and can’t stand getting ripped off on an overhyped & overpriced bourbon. …Hardin Creek 2 year I appreciate your “pass, try, or buy” segment to warn guys like me from being total whin-ers. I don’t appreciate YouTube channels & podcasts that suggest I buy every bottle from every distillery. When a funny hat wearing guy suggest I buy all the bottles, it makes me think he/they pat the backs of distilleries instead of watching out for the common consumer that actually supports their channel/podcasts. I love you boys intimately We should get together soon

Great review of an entry level whiskey. As for Stapleton being “sober,” he says he’s “not sober” as it relates to totally dry. He just cut way back from his early drinking days. Tennesse Whiskey was originally released by David Allan Coe in 1982 and later by George Jones in 1983. Like many artists, Stapleton covered a great song on his debut album.

    The Mash Up Review
I believe I started listening to this podcast around February 2022. I love how you all catch up with each other and keep it casual before diving into the bourbon talk. The fact that y’all have started incorporating blinds is great! I believe Kenny is to blame? I got into bourbon back in 2019-2020 because of my friends. What I’ve learned from this brown juice is that it not only taste good, but you also get to meet all kinds of different people and share your opinions about the juice. I think the Mash Up really incorporates those ideals into their podcast. With that being said… I would for sure not PASS up on the Mash Up and give it a TRY. I think y’all would BUY into it and listen to their honest opinions about the Juice! -Ro.

A kentucky woman learns to love Bourbon!
I am a Kentucky woman born and raised and have never been able to like, or even appreciate bourbon. When I turned 50 in February of 2023 I made a list of 50 things to do in my 50th year. One of the things I really wanted, was at the very least, to learn to appreciate bourbon. 24 distillery tours and tastings later I get it. In fact, I love it!! I’ve learned a lot by listening to your podcast and my list of whiskeys to find grows every week. It’s really so much fun!! Thanks for all the good information and for helping this Kentucky woman learn more about bourbon!! All the best! Jennifer

Most informative and entertaining podcast around
Hellowwwwww. The Mash up is by far one of the best whiskey podcasts out there. The guys’ straight forward and honest reviews combined with their hilarious banter always leaves me wanting more episodes and recommendations. Keep up the great reviews and suggestions for those in or visiting the Lexington area. I live out of state and have my list building for the next time I’m able to visit. Cheers. Rob

    My Favorite Podcast
I started my Bourbon journey in May of 2022 with a trip to Louisville. I found your podcast shortly after that. After getting caught up by listening to every show, now I anxiously wait each Friday for the new one. These guys are great and very approachable on Instagram. Thank you for providing the show and taking time out of your busy lives to help people like me in our journeys. Drew W.

I might be the only woman who listens to this podcast…
After the birth of my first child in 2022, I found myself a mostly stay-at-home mom looking for new hobbies that would engage my brain. My husband and I had always enjoyed bourbon, but after hitting up our local bourbon fest, I decided to take a deeper dive into America’s spirit. I quickly found your podcast (beginning with the episode comparing Jim Beam and Jack Daniel’s…a.k.a. which bourbon-flavored water is more tolerable?) and was instantly hooked but the humor and knowledge. I’ve learned so much, and have especially appreciated Kenny’s explanation of how to nose and taste. Keep it up! Sarah Ann Arbor, MI
