Welcome to The Business BrewThis podcast’s mission is to dig deep into the thought patterns and analysis of investors and business people. The podcast stemmed from Bill Brewster consistently feeling like he was listening to prepackaged material while listening to podcasts. Instead, he wanted long form, in depth, discussions about finance, capital allocation, and the psychology of investing/business. Bill is a private investor. He cohosts the podcast Value: After Hours with Tobias Carlisle and Jake Taylor. Tobias, Jake and Bill met at a Berkshire Hathaway meeting and formed a lasting friendship. And, as it turns out, people really like the podcast. While Bill tries to replicate Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger’s thought processes, he is heavily influenced by Bill Miller III, Stan Druckenmiller, and others. This podcast is his attempt to dig deeper into other investing/business philosophies and share the knowledge with the world. We are interested in interviewing portfolio managers, Wall Street sell side analysts, buy side analysts, private investors, owner operators, and anyone that is willing to go in depth about running a company/division. Pod so good I can’t hold it IN!

Business Brew is stupidly good. Bills got a velvet voice that doesn’t quit, and exquisite taste in guests. Long form allows deeper dives into strategy, and sometimes personal history in a way that’s tasteful, humble, and opens the door to the person behind the investor/business. I’ve listened to every episode, some more than once. Enlighten your ears and have a sip of this brew.

Best Investing Podcast

This has quickly become my favorite podcast on business and investing. The guests are really interesting and the host actually lets them talk. The discussions aren’t chopped up by artificial commercial breaks - they go forward organically and sometimes head to unexpected terrain that is fascinating and often funny. The host has a value investing perspective but the pods don’t get bogged down in investing mumbo jumbo inaccessible to the layman. Can’t wait for more episodes.

Master class in self delusion

nobody with a "high EQ" spends over half of their podcast talking about themselves, or says things like "my influence is growing", let alone brings their elementary school girlfriend drama onto someone else's podcast. Dude, you're a great guy with a lot to contribute, but you have an epically low EQ. Just stick to the basics, go back to how you were when people invited you onto their podcasts, before you constantly talked about yourself.

Great podcast

I normally don’t like to listen to business podcasts or podcast that have episodes over an hour because they generally are pretty dry and don’t hold my attention. This podcast is the exact opposite. Billy finds way to make the subject matter interesting and the conversation with the guests funny and captivating.

Big fan. I come from a completely different investing background, but Bill and guests have a great demeanor and style that cuts through different styles. I also appreciate how open Bill is to acknowledging where he, and fellow value travelers, might have a blind spot. Really self-aware and uncommon.

Manageable Amount of Content

Everyone and their mother has a podcast now, way too many people over do it with 2-4 episodes a week. The frequency of episodes is just right, easy to actually follow. Brewster is a beast, he even gave his own podcast 5 stars and a review which is hilarious. Definitely would recommend to anyone in finance or not. A must subscribe!

Enjoyed the interview. One piece of advice is to do less interruption. It’s tough to navigate that and some of your interruptions would decent enough questions but it made it a pretty choppy interview.
