    The Questions We Ask Matter
I’ve listened to a few episodes before which were all good but just heard the episode with Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and it was phenomenal. It was the perfect mix of pragmatic, thoughtful, and hopeful. Exactly what I needed amidst all this tumult.

    Anxiety buster
I always feel less anxious, more informed, more hopeful and less alone when I listen to this podcast. I wish everyone would listen!

    Please ask follow up questions!
Listening to an ep from November where a guest claims that their friends were democrats until Covid when they lost their businesses and now are trump supporters because they were dissatisfied with status quo. This makes no sense because trump was president the first year of Covid (aka the status quo) so why would they become trump supporters. Concerned the first thing out of your guests mouth is factually incorrect/ logically impossible and there is no follow up.

    Leah Stokes abandoned us :(
The show is pretty good, would like to give a higher rating. But Dr. Leah Stokes is based in CA and when the CPUC attacked the climate benefits of rooftop solar, Stoked stayed silent. Her platform and mission required action but she abandoned us. Do a show on the overall costs AND benefits of rooftop solar especially in CA please.

    One of my favorite podcasts
I love this podcast - especially the “what can I do” series. Information is presented in a clear, easy to understand and engaging manner, and there are clear actions to take to make a difference.

    Inspiring
Dr Wilkinson and Dr Stokes are informative, witty, and inspiring. They helped kick off my climate activism journey, and I use their podcasts as a way to introduce friends to climate solutions without scaring them. I LOVE this podcast. If you’re an MCJ fan looking for another good podcast, add this to the top of your list.

    Practical positive and honest
I am particularly grateful for the accessibility of this podcast. The solutions are sophisticated, but accessible to me as a lay person.

    Simply fabulous
This show is at the leading edge of climate storytelling. Dr. Stokes and Dr. Wilkinson have an unmatched ability to break down thorny environmental issues into compelling narratives. They speak with powerful women leading on climate who inspire me to take bold collective action for our planet. And whether they're exposing awful misdeeds or sharing awesome solutions, the co-hosts are hilarious in their back and forth! A Matter of Degrees is simply fabulous. Keep it coming!

    Spreads debunked misinformation
Either poorly researched, or deliberately misleading episode on the complicated relationship between cryptocurrency and climate

I’d rather be burnt at the stake
Forced to listen to this jargon for a class, safe to say I won’t be coming back

    Powerful Force for Change
A Matter of Degrees has rapidly become one of my favorite podcasts. As a Physician and Scientist, I really appreciate their scientific approach to climate leadership, explaining what we can do as individuals to make a positive change in our world and where it will be most effective to focus our efforts at this critical time for us, for our children and for our planet. I especially loved the episode with VP Kamala Harris, and feel so fortunate that we have her working for all of us! Thank you!

Fantastic for Climate Knowledge and Action
New time listen but this one is definitely awesome! I started listening as they did their mini series in what we can do to help fuel a greener future. First one in and already super encouraging with practical tips and calls to action! Highly recommend listen!!!

    To-dos
I’m a huge fan of the fact that the show has a bias towards action, as in, how we can actually affect change!!

    Engaging and informative
Very informative. Co-hosts really complement each other. Despit being academics they are fun, thoughtful and bring interesting perspectives to the climate discussion.

Normally love the show, but hated hearing the uber left-wing politics on the latest. My guess is many of your listeners are like me in their politics - firmly in the center. Please stick to the climate.

    Great show
I just caught up on all the episodes and I’m looking forward to the next season! I have a love/hate relationship with climate change podcasts because the info is always great, but it makes me sad to hear the damage we have done. This is a great show with fun and informative hosts!

This episode was hard to listen to but asks really key questions. In our survival, whose survival are we taking away? What is worth risking our survival for? Thank you for this podcast.

    Makes me feel hopeful.
The most empowering climate podcast I know of!
  • tentimes4
Two casts in and very impressed
You ladies and Guy are doing a wonderful job. I listened to episode 19 and 20 and I am thoroughly impressed. The Bond vigilante episode is just a wonderful call to action for my niece and nephew to show how they can actually impact climate change while not being a scientist like their crazy uncle.

    Love this podcast!
My favorite “climate curious” podcast! It has called me to action, provoked righteous anger, given me hope, and helped connect me to organizations and people that are doing incredible climate action work. Thank you for all that you do!

    Jobs for All
What I love about this podcast is the integrated blend of elements and sources. From the American Jobs Plan and federal leverage to local initiatives and visions of individuals on many levels. Not only their visions but their on the ground contributions. Inspiring, informative and always with concrete ideas about how one person can make a difference … in collaboration with others.

    Informative, entertaining, and empowering!
These ladies, Dr. Stokes and Dr. Wilkinson, are two of my climate heroes. They know their stuff and bring on excellent guests at the forefront of the climate movement. This is a great podcast for those who care about the climate crisis but want to get more informed about what’s going on and what they can do about it. Highly recommend.

Great new Voices - "Stages of Black Climate Grief"
The "Stages of Black Climate Grief" episode was an excellent example of putting front and center powerfu and important voices and perspectives towards our understanding of Climate Solutions and Climate Justice. The language and perpsectives of Climate Justice are just beginning to enter our lexicon, and having the voices of those most familiar with the role of race in Climate Injustice introduce these concepts is essential. The story of how one young Black woman moved the City of San Diego towards change is inspiring. Allowing her to produce her own story was another form of empowerment, and a subtle teaching tool. Her conversation with another Black woman"change agent" about her experience in the "environmental advocacy" space should be essential listening to all people involved in such advocacy. I will be able to use this podcast as a teaching resource in a course on sustainability and citizenship that this semester will focus much more attention on racial and class equality and social justice. Thank you!

Nope - Do #PriceOnPollution to get over 80%
Great episode BUT a clean electricity standard, CES, only tackles 27% of pollution - only that from generating electricity! Plus it is a lot of hard-to-sell regulations. Pricing pollution with #CarbonCashBack is NOT regulations so it can be put in place fast, and covers ALL fossil fuel emissions (over 80% of emissions.) Make the price gradually rise and see how effective it is. Check it out. Thanks for keeping the climate conversation interesting!
  • ClimateNoodle
    Much awaited and a suggestion
Beautifully weaving together personal stories with candid conversations about the problems, the show gets us closer to finding hope and solutions. It could be better if each episode has notes about bios of guest hosts and interviewees, links to further readings, etc.

    Cant wait until season 2
The perfect podcast for new learners in the sector as well as more experienced people as well in order to grasp the current conversations in the industry!

    Refreshing Take on Climate Change!
This podcast provides a unique take on climate change through its use of story telling. The hosts are engaging and it will allow the listener to truly understand what our world is facing right now with climate change. Also, I love the focus on larger systemic change vs. small individual actions. Worth your time to listen to!

Excellent Podcast Everyone Should Listen To
This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, to release in 2020. Full of realistic optimism, incredible insights and most importantly an amazingly simple way of presenting it. This makes it fun and easily understood by everyone. This and its solution focused orientation make it a must listen each week.

Giving voice to climate change issues
From the very beginning I have been captivated by this podcast. The podcast has helped me in my dissertation writing and it motivates me to see that climate action is possible and it can start locally.
  • LaurenK33
    One of the best
My favorite new podcast of 2020. Accessible, substantive, with great stories from guests who have played key roles in important climate-related events over the past years. Also I just think Leah is amazing and want to be her friend.
  • OskiBearHomie
    Could be shorter
I feel like this podcast could be more short and punchy. While the hosts are undoubtedly welcoming ones, with an inclusive tone and humanizing content, they bury the interview segments—which are very interesting—a little too deeply, in my opinion. I feel like the episodes could be shortened while preserving the integrity of the show.
  • Where are the Solutions?
    Missing Solutions
Billed as a solutions podcast, but so far nothing but blame propaganda.
  • Elan7431

    Love This Podcast
This has become one of my favorite podcasts very quickly. Katharine and Leah do an excellent job of explaining the many issues intersecting the climate crisis. It’s easy to understand and fun to listen to. My only criticism is that I wish there were more episodes to listen to!

    Worth it
Climate change is our single greatest threat and can overwhelm one’s ability take action. This podcast is honest yet optimistic.

    Right on!
