The depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for film from Cam and Scott contributed to spyhards becoming my favorite podcast. This is a must listen for any movie fans. They have introduced me to some of my new favorites such as the “liquidator” and “the falcon and the snowman.” I will subscribe to horsehards the minute it’s released.

    Essential Spy Listening
I’ve listened to this show for years. I’m a huge Mission Impossible fan, and I’ve discovered a lot of new movies that I otherwise would not know about. And they give great code names.

    The Best In The Business
SpyHards Podcast is, without a doubt, the best espionage movie podcast to ever exist. They not only cover every inch of, admittedly, a pretty niche corner of film, but they do so well. They go in depth about the cast, crew, and pre-and-post production of the film the episode is reviewing. They talk about the film’s themes, technical aspects, and performances on and off the camera. Cam always does a great job of providing context for the film too. He explains the landscape of film at the time, comparing and contrasting the subject film against its contemporaries and competitors whether they’re in the spy genre or not. Like all good spies, they leave no stone unturned and no document un-scanned. They also deliver wonderful interviews with cast and crew from the films they cover, including directors and actors from the James Bond franchise (THEY GOT DENISE RICHARDS GUYS!) For these reasons, I would say that on top of being the best espionage film podcast, SpyHards is ALSO one of the best film podcasts ever of any genre. I do not say this lightly, but SpyHards’ catalogue of work speaks for itself. They don’t need me to say it. Agent Scott, Cam The Provocateur… keep up the fight against S.P.E.C.T.R.E, H.A.R.M and all of the other acronym villainous agencies out there.

    Masters of their (spy)craft
SpyHards have mastered the craft of interview, polite interrogation, and debriefing. I have learned so many heretofore hidden, behind-the-scenes details from Spyhards’ interviews. The hosts, Scott and Cam, disarm their guests by demonstrating a genuine interest in their life stories. We are thus able to learn nuanced details about niche films and wider truths about the history of the entertainment industry at large. Part of the magic of the Spyhards interview is a tested and true formula or procedure for the Q&A. Keep up the good work, Scott and Cam! I love your coverage of the Pink Panther films and everything Michael Caine. I look forward to more coverage of the Dalton Bond films, the Tall Blonde Man spy comedy films, and so many other deep cuts from 60s, 70s, and 80s. I also request more episodes on “the films that might have been.” Gentlemen, you are true professionals and are providing a valuable service to those who love His and Her Majesty’s Secret Service!

One of the leaders in the spy movie podcast genre!
Scott and Cam have helped me greatly expand my spy movie interest from just James Bond and M: I! This is especially true of the 30s and 40s movies that revolved around WWII. I’ve always liked movies and cartoons like the Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies that have subtle nods to current events like ration cards and “loose lips sink ships” propaganda. I know it’s not a movie (unless you count the Will Smith abomination!) but I’d love to have you review Wild, Wild West. I’ve watched my DVD set countless times. Keep up the awesome work and keep the Spymaster interviews coming!

A must listen the day it arrives!
When I see a episode drop of Spyhards it immediately goes to the top of the list for a listen. I thought I was a spy film fan prior to listening but now I know there is such a deeper world. Thanks to Scott & Cam for sharing so many hidden gems.

    Excellent movie podcast
Cam and Scott have a well produced, wonderfully executed podcast. While limited to spy movies they do an excellent job at finding a variety of types of spy movies from comedies to westerns and from silent movies to current releases. Their conversations about the movies are cogent, comprehensive, nuanced, and frequently funny. (Love Scott’s puns!)They have a great rapport and bring on intelligent and entertaining guests. I appreciate that they get to the reviews quickly and generally keep the conversation to under 2 hours. A must listen each week for me and I can’t recommend it highly enough. (Edit: when I first posted I intended to mark all five stars. Obviously I failed to proof-read that before posting. I think I’ve corrected. Scott’s puns alone are five-star, so obviously all together it’s a five star podcast).

    I’m Diehard for Spyhards
I discovered the podcast thanks to the much miss James Bond A to Z podcast. The guys discuss all kinds of interesting movies as well as bring in some very cool guests. Looking forward to what they bring us in 2024. Keep up the excellent work!!

    An undercover hit!
Agents Scott and Cam and their guests do a fantastic job of investigating some of the most thrilling and intriguing films ever put to screen. And they do it with genuine open-mindedness, curiosity, critical awareness, and good humor. I’ve discovered several new favorites and learned fresh information on nostalgic classics. SpyHards is the hidden secret weapon of my podcast arsenal.

    Spyhards - Love it!
My only criticism is that they don't talk enough about things other than the movie they're reviewing. :)

Good conversation, wide variety of films
I enjoy this podcast for being as objective as possible when reviewing a smorgasbord of spy films and determining if they make their definitive spy film list (the NOC list). Keep up the great work!

    Fantastic
Spyhards is a film-review podcast that focuses on spy films of all kinds, so they cover the usual suspects like the James Bond and Mission Impossible franchises. The intro music fits the show perfectly and sounds like it could be the theme music for a Netflix series. The show had a great structure, and Scott and Cam don’t meander too much. After giving their first impressions of the subject of the episode, Cam goes deep into the background of making the film covering things like the budget, box office, casting and any controversies or other newsworthy happenings around the movie. During the actual reviews of the movie meticulously go over the movie and make jokes. This takes up the bulk of the usually 90 min plus runtime. This is really my only beef with this podcast. I like time stamps in the show notes especially for shows that are this long. As an example: They could bookmark their opening remarks about the movie (which is spoiler free), one for the background of the movie, and a couple more at least for the beginning of each hosts’ thoughts about the movie. The show ends with a discussion about whether the movie reviewed earns a spot on the NOC list, which they consider essential viewing for the genre. They keep the running list on their website. They also have guests and interview people who’ve worked on some of these movies whether they be actors, screenwriters etc. Check it out if you like: Spy Movies and some of the behind the scenes stuff about making movies

This was a terrific listen. The hosts are well versed in the genre and researched on the films. It is rare to hear a podcast with pointed critique and sound reasoning. No rambling or shooting from the hip here. These gents are funny and knowledgeable. Truly enjoyable. Give them a rating and a subscribe. This message will self destruct in 15 seconds.

    So much fun!
Sure, anybody can give you the traditional spy genre fair of Bond and Bourne but SpyHards delivers the deep cuts (Harry Palmer and Condorman?). Agents Scott and Cam tackle more than just commentary, taking DEEP dives into how films were made and they do it with humor and intelligence. A very fun and entertaining podcast!

Your Mission Should You Choose To Accept It: Listen to This Podcast!
This is such a great podcast! The hosts are intelligent and well spoken, and they bring on fantastic guests who lend their unique perspectives to the genre. I like spy films, but I wouldn't call myself a connoisseur, but Scott and Cam really make the whole discussion very accessible. A great show and I can't wait to dive into more.

    Agents of Cinema
Special agents Scott and Cam come at the genre of spy cinema from an interesting and unique angle giving background information on source works, background on film production, all before getting into the marvelous “meat’ of their selected film’s plot. Well versed, competently prepared, and most of all -quite fun to listen to- this is a great “go to” podcast for those who enjoy spy films and are looking to uncover new gems to view, as well as being a great resource for those who wish to take a deeper dive and gain new insight into the genre on the whole. Fantastic work.

    I Spy a Good Podcast
I must be discreet as I tell you this because I don’t have much time. This is a good podcast. No one else picks apart spy movies from all different time periods better than these hosts. Their code names are Scott and Cam, and they are incredibly entertaining. I know it goes against your training, but you should tell everyone about this show.

    Destroy After Listening
As a general film discussion podcast, SpyHards hits all the right beats of insightfulness and love of cinema. However, it's focused premise on all things spy genre elevates it to a truly creative, fun show. Scott and Cam share a great rapport as cohosts balancing knowledge and entertainment well. What I especially enjoy is their coverage of things like Men in Black as it's not just focused on James Bond and movies riffing that character (although don't worry, they cover them too). Give this a listen and subscribe now!

    I dont know why. I don't.
I've been subscribed to this show for awhile now and for no reason that I can think of, I haven't come in here to write it up. They're a fun couple of guys and the shows are always good. To be fair, I am not a huge fan of spy movies, but I enjoy listening to them talk about them. You will too. So, tell ya what...stop reading this and go listen. You're still here, aren't you? Why? Go. Go now.

A spy movie podcast? Sign me up!
I really enjoy movies in the spy/secret agent genre but oddly enough, I don’t see a category for history’s greats in this genre. That’s where this podcast comes in. Agents Scott and Cam give a great synopsis of the greats, and expand on the ideals of your favorites and tie them all together in a light hearted conversation that doesn’t leave you out. The banter is engaging, and they challenge each other with the back and forth which is an element that makes the best for podcasts. Love the show guys, lemme know when you cover Kingsman!

    Great Insight, Great Sound
These guys have a natural flowing sound that makes you feel like you’re a fly on the wall, listening to experts discuss spy movies. This is a great change of pace from the “in your face” type podcasts that start to annoy you after a while. I highly recommend this podcast even if you aren’t into soy movies!
