Thanks for making this podcast. I love hearing your and your guests’ insight into the shows. I haven’t read the books yet, but they’re in my queue! Also, a special thank you for recommending the Literally Healing Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. I work there and it’s dependent on donors to gift a book a day to each patient and their families - totaling 90,000 last year! Had to put in a little plug which I hope is okay!!

Love the pod and the episode breakdowns. I’ve found the guests to be up and down and was especially disappointed by the finale guest’s constant negativity.

Really fun if you love Slow Horses series and spy fiction.

Would be good to get more analysis instead of this tedious play-by-play of what happened. We already saw it, we don’t need you to walk through every scene with us! Verges on the Chris Farley SNL skit “remember when that happened? That was cool…”

Ok I just started listening to this after blasting through all of the books on audio. Gerard Doyle led me to the series, I’m a big fan of his after his reading of Adrian McKinty’s work. Please consider interviewing him. Also would be appreciated if you would ask your guests for additional series they are keen on. I’ll keep listening- thank you

So glad I found this! This is the kind of show you want knowledgeable people doing a podcast after every episode. It’s a rare thing where everyone in one podcast doesn’t annoy you with their voices or lack of intelligence.

Host and guests are all knowledgeable about the Mick Herron books, and have good listening voices. Fun to watch the shows, then listen to these guys!

I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who enjoys the spy and espionage genres. Mick Herron’s work is a great contemporary portal to themes and archetypes with a twist of humor, wit and fun. But what sets this podcast apart is not only the fantastic source material but the passion, knowledge and entertaining qualities that Jeff brings to it. In an amenable and casual style he effectively engages the audience with insightful and fun conversations with guests that provide further insights and interpretations to both the books and the TV show. The podcast is also a great entry space for those who are new to the genre with regular citations and references to other fantastic authors and books.

Jeff’s knowledge of the content and genre really shines through in all of his episodes. He’s excited and passionate about the genre and his style of conversation with the guests he had in the show is fantastic. This pod has become a must-listen for me after watching the new episodes of Slow Horses every Friday night! Also made me buy the entire Slough House series… I hope Jeff gets some kind of compensation for this major Herron promo haha :)

Jeff’s easy manner and thoughtful analysis, combined with the input of well-qualified guests makes this the perfect accompaniment to Mick Herron’s Slough House (and adjacent) works. I’ve enjoyed listening to Jeff on Spybrary and this podcast just reaffirms he is tops in this field.

Barbican Station is a superb podcast detailing the Slough House realm. Host Jeff Quest brings on guests to dissect each novel in the series authored by Mick Herron. If you are a fan of the acerbic wit and hilariously caustic cast of characters in Slough House, this is a binge worthy podcast. Looking forward to the next installment detailing #7!
