nucuplmnjuyhAnne ListerAL was not, not, dismissive or prejudiced against lower class people. Have you seen how she cares about the family of the little boy who lost his leg? Or about her agent Briggs who was sick? Or how she took Cordingley to Paris? Most of the show is based on her actual diaries. She was kind, and didn’t push people around. (Except for her sister!)

Sib-byDo they watch the shows?Or is it just about bashing show and not understanding the core reading of the show?

MoaksMHave to wonder if they careI LOVE British TV and appreciate the backstories the hosts bring to this podcast But, while I hate to be negative, I do have to echo the other comments - it is very hard to listen to. A bit of editing and cleaning up all the “ums” and “likes” would go a long way to making it more listener friendly, which, I believe, is ultimately the point of having a podcast. With so many reviews saying the same thing, I have to wonder if they care, or this is just not that important to them. Disappointing, because it could be great.

Argie77Mostly GreatI enjoy this podcast and have no trouble recommending it to friends. My biggest pet peeve (in fairness this is an issue I have with other podcasts) is that the hosts sometimes forget how amplified their voices are. There’s too much cackling and going off topic on some episodes, and unfortunately I end up skipping those episodes altogether. They also cut each other off all the time. Worth a listen, but needs some tweaks.

amsmith131Did you watch the show?Ladies, I’m not sure what show you guys were watching. There were things to criticize, you didn’t mention any of those things. Did you see the last episode? Clara did the things you said you wished she had done. No, the sugar boycott wasn’t mentioned in just one episode. Georgiana literally mentions it every episode. You claim you needed to see Charlotte deal with her emotions about Sidney, while Charlotte deals with her emotions about Sidney. By deciding to turn away from marriage, understanding her decision means she must support herself. She then finds employment, knowing this gives her a new status in society. These may not be the best ways for her to deal with her grief but here we are. Random Ralph is not random. We see him in the first episode and he is mentioned a few more times throughout the season. Her father WANTS her to marry. Soon. She is the oldest at 23. She came home from Sanditon, again, not engaged. Her plan to support herself didn’t work. So, she accepted Ralph’s proposal. We absolutely saw Charlotte grow and learn after closing herself off. Her relationship with the girls and Colbourne were a huge part of her growth. They are just in the beginning of their relationship. Also, big PS to you guys. Georgiana is a woman of color or a black woman. Do not use the phrase “colored women”.

PepperpotmaryTelevisionsEnjoy your enthusiasm for the shows you review. (Please try to break the overuse of the filler word basically).

'ZoniaKinda SloppyI love British TV, married to a Brit, was excited to find this podcast. However, my first listen was the episode about the different Professor T’s and before we even delved in, the snark was evident. I love the Belgian version and, like the reviewers, found the carbon copy British version kind of meh though it has its charms (namely Frances de la Tour). Then, when an actual discussion blossomed—& I thought, “Oh good, I judged too soon”—there were unprofessional inaccuracies: A complaint that the Belgian version doesn’t get into Donkers relationship with her co-worker (“We don’t even know his name!” We do. It’s Daan & Dan) whereas the very first episode starts with it AND his name. There are complaints of insufficient backstory from 2 people who haven’t seemed to have watched more than 2 episodes. It takes place “somewhere in Belgium” (Antwerp). An aside: “Whatever language they speak in Belgium.” That would be Dutch, German, and French. And if you hang in long enough you’ll hear pretty much every main character speak every one of them plus English. I’ll give TellyVision another try because I wanted to like it and I still do. But thus far—quite disappointing

SlotsRAwesomeBobbinsNo effort to engage with the WETAUK audience Just a narcissistic ’what I’m watching and what I enjoy’ + industry notes from two individuals too busy to check their comments)

giuliageraniumI know it could be betterPlease. I realize this is not the hosts’ actual job, but if you’re going to do it, perhaps raise the level of prep. Starting with a question or premise is great and then….it all falls apart. No notes? No little list to bring you back to the actual matter at hand? Cmon guys. You both sound like fun but it’s really falling flat.

mini.meandersLaughter is contagious!Listening to this podcast gives me so much joy. Period dramas are my favorite genre and I love geeking out about them. The ladies on this show have a delightful sense of humor and the sound of their laughter brings a smile to my face every time. It’s contagious! :D

HH1984!Stop Saying “Like” Every Two SecondsEnjoying the info and banter between these two co-hosts, but please stop saying the work “like” 1M times in every sentence. You sound like two intelligent women. Don’t diminish that by dumbing down what you have to say by inserting “um” and “like” over AND over. The frequency is making my ears bleed. You’re better than that...

Jigs cbLove these LadiesI have been listening since episode 1 and love the podcast as well as the Tellyvisions website! Ani and Lacy provide great coverage of current Bristish shows available across all networks/streaming services as well as background on how these shows make their way to the states. And, best of all they cover what shows will be coming soon! I used to have to hunt around the internet to try to find new (to me) shows and figure out where they were streaming. I wish they had more than one episode per week!

ALJScottDisappointedI’m sort of disappointed in this podcasts. The girls obviously don’t have a good background in the time period to review the Sanditon. Historically guilds, the merchant class, health spas along the sea are Austen time correct. The sex scenes are not Austenish.

TrtwwwwwLove your podcastLove your podcast! Came for Sanditon but will stay for future podcasts. 😀😀😀 you guys are great and I look forward to future episodes!

PossibilitariansSensible in ChicagoEnjoying the knowledge & honesty Lacy & Ani bring to Sanditon. Listening to them allows you to be a hopeless romantic without getting overly sappy!

Orb SportsballFun, with high production valueThe hosts’ enthusiasm for British television is infectious! And the sound engineer’s ability to bottle that enthusiasm is first rate.

BreezeNicoleA podcast for AnglophilesThis is a great niche podcast if you love British TV. Yes there’s an emphasis on PBS shows but they explore shows beyond that too. I always enjoy podcasts more when the cohosts have great chemistry and Ani and Lacy definitely do!

akikopicoFinally a good Sanditon podcast!I know they aren’t only reviewing Sanditon, but up to now there hasn’t been a good in-depth podcast review of the show. Really enjoying this. The hosts are funny and make good critical points. They’re off to a great start!
