I would love a podcast that talks about strengthening you hands to hold a pick after an injury. I have to hold my pick with my thumb and middle finger on my right hand (missing the tip of my index finger). I tend to shy away from playing with a pick because of the struggle with holding a pick and doing it well. Thank you for your podcast.

I tried listening to this podcast but had to give up. The speaker is rattling on so fast he doesn’t even fully pronounce words. Difficult to follow closely, irritating as all get out. There are far better programs doing this same thing.

Geared more for begineer to intermediate lpayers, the Begineer Guitar Academy hawks a hybrid online guitar program which blends a typical online guitar course with an individual instructor who checks your playing (via videos you submit) once or twice a month as well as remaining available for emailed questions when one is stuck. However, thiis is typically only the first couple minutes of the podcast; the balance of the podcast is content ranging from very useful information for beginners to intermediate guitarists to more general information about playing guitar & notable guitarists to more advanced & esoteric information for intermediate to early advanced guitarists. It's a very useful & entertaining for anyone interesting in playing guitar, playing guitar better, or just appreciating really good guitarists. Unfortunately most of the downloads and supplemental materials are limited to Academy members, but sometimes Paul releases some really useful materials.

Each episode is packed with usable tips to help me move forward with my guitar studying. I always listen to the episode as soon as it is in my feed. Highly recommend!

I found this podcast on one of my many work trips. At the time I had been trying to teach myself guitar through YouTube. Besides being a great podcast with very useful tips the idea of learning through BGA really intrigued me. I joined for $1 in November of last year just to try it out and it was everything I hoped it would be. Structured, step-by-step lessons, mixed in with fun activities like playing songs. It slowed me down and allowed me to focus so I could actually get better. I have made WAY more progress in the first 4 months than I did in the previous 6. It's not even a comparison. I didn't even mention the workshops, song studies and actual one-on-one feedback and live sessions (which I haven't attended yet). It literally checks ALL the boxes. So glad I found this.

Short, straight to the point guitar playing knowledge with no fluff and filler. No 10 minute ad reads. Really my favorite pod. I just recently joined BGA and am blown away by the structure and quality of the academy. Anyone out there listening who even remotely likes this content needs to try BGA. Stop the YouTube learning and get to progress!

Paul’s podcasts are perfect for beginner to intermediate guitar players. I struggled the first two to three years of trying to learn to play guitar through online options, then came across this podcast…perfect! Practical and accessible advice that I could implement immediately. Joined Paul’s Beginner Guitar Academy about 3 months ago and have made more progress than in the prior two years. Plus, I been able to identify and eliminate (almost) the bad habits I’d picked up in other online course. Highly recommend this podcast and the BGAcademt.

I decided to learn guitar and stumbled upon this Podcast. Paul is an excellent teacher and it comes through in this podcast. I have listened to the first 70 episodes of the podcast so far, and what I like about is how thoroughly Paul goes though a subject. While I listen in my car, I get great information packed into an easy to listen show, then I go to the show notes online afterwards and he has great resources on there for me to pick up where the show stopped and continue to learn or research. If you’re looking for a beginning or restarting point for learning to play the guitar - this is it! I started with Paul’s podcast, checked out his Amazon book, and joined his academy online. What’s great about Paul’s podcast and instruction is that it saves me time by keeping practice lessons focused - I’m not searching all over YouTube clicking on the next shiny thing. I don’t have to think about what to practice next, Paul has already done the search work for me, and his podcast reinforces those basics and gives me ideas on what to explore next.

I can’t say enough at how easy the lessons are. I’m now on my second month taking the online course and have learned so much. Stop waisting you’re time on YouTube trying to pause and play random lessons. This is a structured and very simple guitar lesson structure if you have 15 minutes a day or 1 hour a day. It’s allot of fun with a community to encourage and ask questions! You won’t be disappointed, I love Paul’s teaching techniques and his quick response to every question. Great job Paul!!!
