    Your not alone
We put our blend under one roof and things change negatively. I thought I made a terrible decision. I thought my partner was not who I was supposed to be with. I was stressed and angry about the messes and feeling like a maid. I thought it was just us and we weren’t ok. This podcast made me feel validated in my feelings it. The podcast saved my relationship and my view on my whole blend. I listen daily and look forward to new episodes!!

    I don’t feel alone
I love listening to this podcast because it makes me feel like there are others out there who understand what I’m going through… and sometimes it also makes me thankful for my blend because some others have it so much worse!

Lori and David have saved me over and over
From a mom of 3 and 3 bonus kiddos, I had NO clue what I was getting into. If you are a new or future step parent, please start listening now ❤️

I listen to you and almost cry tears!
I wish I had heard your podcast when my family was growing up. A lot of times you think you are the ones ones going through something. I regret a lot even though I did the best I knew at the time. I am happy though that others have access to your tools.

The blend may not be perfect, but we put in the work. That’s all you can do.
I started listening to your podcast long before I ended up in a relationship with a man who had kids from his previous marriage. I was prepared for the feelings that came, even though I still struggle with guilt. Without your support system, I’m not sure I would have been confident enough to keep this relationship together. I would have carried a large heavy shame that likely would have made me feel so bad that I would have thought that getting out of the relationship was the only way to make the shame go away. I’ve been a member of the Nacho Kids Academy for a few years and from time to time I go through a challenge or watch a lesson and it helps immensely. I can’t thank you guys enough for helping stepparents find a way to stay in the blend and finding a path that allows for grace and forgiveness and imperfection. Every day we wake up and try to do better. Thank you for being excellent coaches.

    Validated and thankful
Validating - For many years I was filled with guilt, shame & doubt…mostly around feelings as a stepmom…..BUT my internal compass was right on point and carried me through….. Did not know at the time but it’s NACHO’ING 🤗

    My Friday companion
Lori and David and their guests have remained a constant in my commute to work. It has kept me sane since I started listening to them and joined the Nacho Kids Academy later on. Prior to learning about Nacho Kids Nacho Parenting I lived with a lot of shame because my stepfamily looked a lot different from what I saw on the internet. I am so happy that they are doing all the wonderful work they do for us stepfamilies. We are still blended despite all of the mess we go through. Thank you for saving our stepfamily, for saving my marriage. It’s not easy being a public face to the mess we stepfamilies go through. I applaud you for your hard work, courage & being vulnerable, because of this I know and so many stepfamilies out there know they are not alone. You gave me hope! This podcast deserves 500M ⭐️ x infinity! God bless you, your guests and your listeners

    New found family
I moved to a new country and I have been blending for 5 years. Blending and step family is not part of my culture. I found myself overwhelmed being in a new country, living with SO and having a new SK plus the loneliness of being away from my own BD. Pre- nacho I had my late MIL to vent on. She is the only one who I could talk to because she never judged me and I can remember her saying you need to stay off of it, kindly. Whatever the issue is. I said yes but I don’t know how to do what she meant by “stay off of it”. Until she passed away and I found myself so lost until I found Nacho kids podcast. Lori and David had become that big voice in my head that continues to stir me i to the right direction. Since I have been nachoing my SO and I have been blending blissfully. I will join the Nachokids academy soon since my BD will eventually join us and I know that it will absolutely change the dynamic of our mix. Lori and David is like the Uncle and Aunt that taught me how to blend right. I have tremendous respect for them and all they do. Thank you very much for the podcast, Fb group, Nacho kids Club and Nachokids Academy and everything else you guys do to help us navigate our new normal. All the podcast episodes are unique, informative and they crack me up so bad just being their true selves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

    Nachoing Saved My Sanity
I found Lori and David Sims and the Nacho Kids Podcast when I needed it most. I’ve been a stepmom for 6 years and was starting to lose my mind trying to take care of everything concerning my SD9 along with OD3. Listening to this podcast every day, and hearing how many stepmoms have dealt with the same issues I was facing, made me feel so much better. And Lori and David are so entertaining and make me laugh every episode. LOVE THIS PODCAST!!

NKA saved my sanity and marriage!
So happy I came across the podcast and subsequently became a member of NKA! Btw - I’m not being paid to say this! I am a newer Step-Mom of 2 years, and a Bio-Mom of 12 years. I wish I would have listened to this before becoming a step parent so that I could avoid feeling so alone, isolated, and defeated, and avoid feeling like I’m just the worst person in the world! I also wish I would have found this earlier so I could have avoided the whole “mean” thing I did of trying to get my SKs to be healthy and making all these delicious meals for them. It would have saved me so much heartache! I love this podcast, and the academy has sincerely changed my life! Thank you!!!

I took some time today to listen to your show!! the nacho kids podcast, is a fantastic podcast with great info, advice, and perspectives. You won't regret listening to and learning from the podcast.

    Disappointed
In one episode the step dad accuses the stepson of breaking a press. The stepson said it never worked for him. Instead of asking more questions or having the stepson show him he just jumped to the conclusion the stepson broke it. I heard enough to know this isn’t the podcast for me.

    I’m not alone!
I’m so happy to have found The Nacho Kids Podcast last summer (after 5 1/2 years of blending..I was doing it wrong from the start! 🤦🏻‍♀️) I am eager to listen to the new episodes each Friday! Keep up the amazing work!! It is my Zen each week!
  • Gazaleh.....
Great subjects, but too much chit chat
I really appreciate this podcast especially because there are so few resources like this, but it takes a half hour to get to any substantial discussion. I’m sure that’s awesome for some folks, but for me I don’t have all that time and have to fast-forward quite a bit to get to the topic discussion.

    So helpful!
Love to listen to this show on my drives or walks. The stepmom experience can be isolating and while I don’t agree with all of the guests’ perspectives or approaches, it’s lovely to see how everyone has a different way. Lori and David also share great insight and humor. Highly recommend!
  • nctova
    Highly recommend
Listening to these episodes from stepmoms and blended families has helped me to realize that I’m not alone. More importantly, I’m learning healthy and effective ways to manage the struggles in my new role. There is power in being powerless.

    My favorite podcast
I’ve been struggling with step parenting for years and this podcast has been soooo therapeutic! I’ve had so many ah ha moments while listening and quite a few hard belly laughs—some of this stuff you can’t make up lol. Its nice to know that not only am I not alone, but there’s people out there who’ve survived and thrived in this chaotic family dynamic. You both are a blessing and I thank you for providing this resource!

    Inedible fun and helpful!
David & Lori are genuine, open, honest, and fun! Blending is hard but they have an approach that makes it possible. Thank you guys for doing so much for the blended family community!!

I've learned so much from them!
Last year I almost had a mental breakdown! Nachokids helped me figure out what healthy boundaries I needed to put in place. They validated some of my feelings as a stepmom that no one else in my life understood. I no longer have to be "supermom" to his kids. His kids are his responsibility. Not mine. I changed my job title to Executive Assistant instead of Live In Chauffeur, Nanny, or Maid. I can breathe again! Love these guys!

    Everyone needs to listen!
Nacho Kids has easily become one of my new favorite podcasts. Lori and David are hilarious and they are so knowledgeable about a plethora of topics related to stepfamilies, parenting, communication, nachoing obviously, high-conflict people and situations, and the court systems to name a few. This podcast has helped me so much already. I am in a relationship with someone with a young child so I want to learn all I can before we take the next step of marriage. Listening to a variety of people’s unique stories are so helpful because I’m learning what works and what doesn’t, and it will help me be more prepared when I get to that point. Thank you Lori and David for the work you are doing. You are truly helping so many people and I hope you continue to do this for a long time!!

Saving me 1 podcast at a time
The struggle has been real! I wish I would have knew about Nacho 6 years ago! May have save so much heartache and tears. Baby steps to Nacho! It is so hard letting go the control over my household since I am one who thrives in a structured environment. The advise and hearing what others have gone through is helping me so much on a day to day basis.

    Wow! Helping me so much!
I’m not even married to my boyfriend but we are a blended family, he has a 9 year old son. We have been together 10 months and once the honeymoon period wore off I was at my wits end. Each week I was doubting myself if I could continue this relationship. I started seeing a blended family counselor and that’s going great. I stumbled upon your podcast accidentally and wow just wow I have felt so much better to know other are thinking I have been thinking! I also have taken a step back and relived some of the pressure I was putting on myself. Thank you so much!

A must for anyone struggle in a blended family
This podcast has without a doubt saved my sanity and relationship. Like many stepmoms I was feeling isolated and mentally defeated. The amazing variety of guests provides information for a whole range of situations and issues. For example I am a childless stepmom dealing with a super HCBM and I was able to find loads of relevant episodes. Because of this podcast I joined the Nacho Kids Academy and have found my tribe! Even if you don’t join the Academy and just listen to the podcast, you’ll get a wealth of information.

Step adult learning to chill out
First, this podcast helped me realize I’m not the only step adult feeling this way. Second, it gives me a framework to use with my struggles in our blended home. Third, I feel more hopeful about the future. This podcast is great for anyone living in a blended home.

This podcast is great for stepmoms! It’s so helpful to hear from people who have been there and want to help others. Lori and David do a great job handling heavy topics with humor and empathy.

    Incredibly grateful
I can’t thank the Lord above enough for me finding this podcast. It’s a huge blessing. It is so beneficial to hear from experts about blended families but even more it’s meaningful to hear the experiences of people going through being a stepparent. I have never felt more seen or heard in my six years of being a stepmom.

    A must for step moms!
I’ve been a step mom for 5 years and it is by far the hardest and sometimes the loneliest thing I’ve ever done. So many of the step mom groups online provide empathy but don’t offer strategies to improve a step mom’s day to day quality of life. Lori’s story gave me hope that maybe there was a better way forward. I get something out of every episode.

    Extremely insightful
It’s very helps to hear multiple examples of families. Thanks

Two time childless stepmom loves it!
I found this when I was in a frustrated place three years into my blend. This is a great podcast to get a lot of different viewpoints about disengaging on different levels. I pick and choose which ones are most relevant to my situation and I’ve learned so much! It’s given me the confidence I need to talk to my husband about boundaries and rules and what I shouldn’t be doing! I’ve also started following several of the guests so I can benefit from what they offer as well.
  • Cdfjk
Great for families having difficulty blending
My husband and I started doing some version of this before we even knew this was a thing. It was the thing that saved us. It was a process. It’s not an overnight fix but it will help tremendously. Save your sanity and try this.
  • mwlters25
    Brilliant
Lori’s insight is life changing. Especially her recent episodes. I cry almost every episode from relief - that I’m not alone or a bad person. She and her husband have no ego and easy energy. Thank you to you both!

    NACHO KIDS is brilliant!
I entirely misunderstood what was meant by "nacho kids" parenting until I came across this podcast and actually looked into what they were teaching. When I did...WOW, it was completely different than what I thought: better, more helpful, and potentially marriage-saving. Plus, they're hilarious! If you haven't listened in yet, you're missing out! David and Lori, keep up the great work!

    Love it ❤️
I just started listening and omg I was missing out. I would love more info on nacho kids academy and to see if we should start. I would love to tell u my story. Bio mom to four and step mom to two boys with different moms. So two totally different situations to navigate.

If you are a stepmom struggling in any way, you’ve come to the right place.
To sum it up (because I could write a book on how much these podcast and the Nacho Kids Academy has helped me personally...) David and Lori, I can not thank you guys enough for bringing this concept out into the world. The humor and realness y’all bring into your podcasts makes me feel like I’ve known you guys forever and I’m just listening to two friends chat about totally relatable things. Almost every podcast I’ve listened to I will go from giggling my butt off to crying tears of relief, that somebody else gets it! I no longer feel alone in this stepmom journey and I feel so validated now. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys are truly amazing 💜

    Truly Amazing
This podcast has become so beneficial and helpful to my life. My bf and I are amazing together although I’ve had such a hard time adjusting toward my boyfriends 2 children (I do not and decided quite sometime ago I hadn’t wanted kids). It’s helped me to backup and realize that I am NOT their Mom I can’t make things perfect bec they aren’t mine. I am learning to keep my mouth shut on how he parents and learn to just stand by him on his decisions he makes. You have been a huge help to my relationship and I’m loving listening to you both xoxo

I wish I had started listening to this sooner!
I have been a step mom for about 10 years and have had so many of the emotions that these step moms have talked about. Since I didn’t have any friends that are also step moms, I just felt like I was crazy and a bad person. Listening to your podcast has been amazing for me- for the first time I realize that the feelings I have are completely normal. I’m now starting to navigate the teen years of being a step mom and learning about the Nacho theory has been life changing. I’ve learned to stop worrying so much about the future since I know I can handle whatever is thrown my way by doing this approach. I feel so much lighter now that a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I for once in my years of being a step mom feel somewhat confident and empowered. I am so great full that I stumbled upon this podcast!

    Wise couple
Love this podcast! I listen to several blended family podcasts and the hosts/creators of Nacho kids are so wise. You can find all kinds of advice on podcasts or social media, but what stands out about Lori & David is that they really seem happy together and that they have figured out how to create a peaceful loving stepfamily. As a child free stepmom I initially struggled with knowing what my role should be in the family, but I have picked up such great tips and tricks from this podcast. This podcast is an advertisement for the Nacho Kids Academy which I think would be a huge help for a struggling blended family.

    Thank you!
I am so grateful to have found Nacho kids. I finally feel validated and that I am not alone. As a step kid, I knew blending would have its unique challenges, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Lori and David’s story gives me hope that we can make it.
  • asseydawn
    Thank you!
So I just want to say thank you because you have made me feel like it’s ok to be me again! I was having a lot of doubt about who I was as a step mom! These have made me realize that my feelings are normal and I’m feeling like me again! So thank you for sharing your story!’nn

This podcast is amazing. Each episode is fun and easy to listen to, filled with so many tips and tricks. Hearing so many other peoples stories makes me feel less alone in my struggles, and gives me confidence that everything can be okay. Lori and David have great voices, and complement each other so well. Thank you, Nacho Kids.

Soothing to know we are not alone
I LOVE this podcast. I love how transparently everyone expresses themselves without being judged but instead understand where the feeling are coming from and be able to sooth us step moms. I love listening to other moms and their experiences. What I love the most is how they involve God, because without him nothing is possible and he gives us the strength and wisdom to cope with a blended family.

    Awesome for blended families!
I spent eight years trying to be a good spouse and be the mom figure to my step kids. After realizing I had FAR too much on my plate, I desperately started looking for resources and frankly ANYTHING that helped me make sense of feelings I had toward my step-kids. I cannot recommend NachoKids enough for the blended families that feel like everything else hasn’t worked. David and Lori helped me stop feeling guilty for not loving my step kids the same way I love my biological kids and explained all of those feelings I have and I no longer have guilt and shame. In addition, this podcast is also very light hearted which is quite a challenge given the material however, they clearly love supporting blended families and I’m grateful that they chose to use their experiences and struggles as a way to support so many other families struggling. Thank you, David and Lori for being a key part of saving my marriage and my household!
  • DodeeCS
    Wonderful
This podcast is the best I have found. They made me realize that I am not alone in my struggles as a step parent and there is really great help out there. David and Lori have a way of making you laugh and learn new tools to use at the same time. I found this podcast at a time.

    Amazing resource for blended families!!
This podcast has been so helpful. Hearing stories from other blended families, particularly stepmothers, provides relief from feeling isolated in these roles. Many episodes identify common behaviors amongst step-children, and this podcast provides great resources and experiences that will help you navigate your blended family challenges. I haven’t found anything else yet that provides such useful guidance for step-families. Highly recommend!
