The in-depth analysis of ongoing court cases is very helpful, and the hosts can be very funny and insightful. But every time they get on their soapbox about an idea or strategy that’s too far left for their liberal tastes, I lose a little sanity.

I listened to this podcast all during Law School, in addition to the 5 to 4 podcast, and Strict Scrutiny is all of the things that I wish I would’ve learned in law school, except in real time, and actually interesting. Also, these women are incredibly brilliant and knowledgeable about the law. Would 100/10 pay big money to go to dinner with them

Extremely politically biased - wish they would be more independent in their coverage

Outright lies and misinformation at worst. The death in Georgia was due to hospital neglect. Sepsis is missed a LOT in the hospital setting. There is no law in Georgia that prevented that facility from removing tissue to save her life. There is plenty of blame to go around, but the people are sick to death of political misinformation. Please don’t let this become the norm in your show or you’ll drive away so many listeners…

I am an attorney with 7 years of practice experience and an Emory degree where I concentrated heavily in con law issues and esp 1A. The haters in these comments just don’t understand how con law works in America and how it always has…well, til this insane Trump court, anyway. It’s a 10/10 show. Highly recommend.

A very smart and informative podcast, often funny. But they should understand this is a podcast- we can’t see them, can’t see their lips moving. So the mumbling speed talking is really annoying.

This podcast is a trip. High level legal analysis delivered in the voice of a teenage girl. Think Clueless.

The “Kate is a dinosaur/Republican apologist/killjoy” bit is a little over the top. She provides some of the best analysis on the show and the other hosts sound juvenile constantly needling her. That would be a horrible way to speak to your colleague/friend in the real world, and it detracts from the show.

If you want a heavily biased option show that absolutely ignores relevant facts then this is the show for you. Save yourself some time and go to the internet Reddit echo chamber

When people ask me how I know so much about what is going on in current events in law and politics, I always say it’s because of this podcast! The hosts really lay it out there in an informative and fun way. I’ve learned so much!

The hosts are smart, funny, and strike the right balance of exasperation and agency. I learn something every episode but you do not need to be a legal scholar to follow the conversation. This is easily the best crooked media podcast.

I started listening to your podcast and was almost immediately treated to an anti-Trump viral. My first impression of your podcast is there is no Common sense involved or understanding of what happens when a law is struck down. You say many doctors did not perform emergency procedures when a woman’s life was at stake, because of fear of the law, which had not been defined yet. I guarantee you if a woman’s life was at steak and they had to do an abortion they would have, with no repercussions. The common sense of that is simple, if they didn’t perform it, she died, and the child, so child was not going to live, so regardless, the child would have died, who could blame the doctor for saving the women’s life certainly not myself or President Trump. Please think!

Unlistenable if you want true objective reporting on the Supreme Court.

I do like the other Crooked pods for what they are: unapologetic hyper partisan political commentary. They are entertaining and they don’t require a lot of focus to listen to. This one for some reason I was expecting something a little more intelligent. Besides the constant stream of verbal tics that is crooked’s signature style (“like, but like, I mean, right?”) what really bugged me is that it’s 90/10 political to legal content. I was hoping to learn something. Silly me.

Did not appreciate MM’s visit to PSA. Since when are women 28-32 “True Millennials” and “older women” in their 40’s and 50’s?? This is the type of uneducated take I would expect from a gender and age biased white male. Gross.

Seriously, this is the best podcast out there. Episode after episode is enlightening.

I really enjoyed constitutional law in college so I really get lost in these podcast. You can really tell that the host are passionate about their work. I work in manufacturing, so I can run through about 5 a shift.

Was hoping to get some ‘real’ and ‘unbiased ‘ commentary regarding the Supreme Court but in the first 5 minutes of your show your proved that you are not knowledgeable - your analysis of Kamala Harris’ ascension as the Democrat presidential nominee is entirely flawed and it is a big deal despite your representation otherwise. You fail to acknowledge that Joe Biden received approximately 14 million votes as the democratic candidate. Harris received zero. That is very ‘undemocratic’ and definitely not the voice of the people as you say. You cannot just swap out a candidate because the convention was not held yet. Obviously cannot continue listening as I know it will be filled with more nonsense and failed analysis.

I feel so much more educated after each pod. These women are brilliant and I will never stop listening but the only complaint I have is every time Leah pronounces the word “hundred” like “hunderd” it like, hurts my feelings. With fear for my earlobes, I dissent. Still, I love this pod!

The episode with Ruth Ben-Ghiat was sobering — she provided the context and history we all need in order to process the (lazily) concealed motives of the new right. I can handle the seriousness, but I do also love your banter and lightness to balance my brain.

Beautiful women. I love your pod. Fantastic content and insight. Two suggestions: First, you regularly talk over each other, often to offer an ironic quip. But it’s incomprehensible to the listener. Especially because we can’t see you, whatever was said by both persons is lost. Second, please stop the alcohol glorification comments. Big Alcohol is not a friend to women. It tells us we can’t cope without it. It shows up in the majority of sexual assaults. And it raises our risk of breast cancer 15-25%. Feminists can drink — that is a personal decision — but skip the comments glorifying alcohol. It’s not glorious for us a lot of the time. Thanks. Ellen Brostrom

Someone should tell the “interviewer” at Fux News who asked Donny the Menace to define Project 2025 that “tome” is not pronounced “tomb” (unless that was a funereal Freudian slip rather than outright ignorance). If the latter, he might want to invest in a dictionary before these guys’ Auto-da-fe wet dreams ever actually get underway. That gaff would be funny if it wasn’t sinister.

Love the show. Love the deep dives. But please be careful with the assumption that all left leaning women work outside the home. I took my college-educated brain and used it for paid work for 4 years before becoming a stay at home mom for 16 years and counting. My brain isn’t vibrating from not being used, thank you very much. I still need my microwave. I get the humor, and that you were saying those vibrations were from being FORCED to stay home, but my gut reaction was a virtual middle finger to the hosts. I can let it go and keep listening, but that’s a great way to get curious listeners to turn you off and that’s not something any of us can afford right now. I listened because I specifically wanted Project 2025 info to share on an upcoming road trip with about 5 unsure voters- but now I can’t because of careless comments like that (2 other well educated SAHM’s in that group) Like I said- be careful, please. If these three lawyers are representative of Condtitutional law professors, the US is in for long years of trouble. I listened to this one episode, and won’t listen to another. If the three panelists had spent as much time focusing on the language of the Constitution or the statutes at issue as they did making fun of Justice Gorsuch, the podcast would have a lot more credibility. One of the podcast’s sponsors was Babble, and that best describes the discussion in the podcast, even though they babbled about important issues.

But these girls are so annoying.

This podcast offers deeply insightful and knowledgeable, but still very accessible, analyses of the Supreme Court and its rulings (the hosts are law professors after all), that illustrate especially well the rulings’ malign impacts on women, democracy and society in general. Listeners can also raise a Ginni Tonic or a Martharita to the hosts as they entertainingly and constructively mock the Court in a type of gleeful irreverence I haven’t seen since John Oliver produced his canine portraits of the justices. Highly recommended!

It’s hard to have a format like this when you can’t find a conservative that argues in good faith. Ross is smarmy and distasteful. Ross still continues to trumpet racist and sexist dog whistles constantly. Trump isn’t “being Trump.” He’s being racist. Walz didn’t say he went to war. That’s a lie.

I’m shocked but I’m not surprised that there’s this much misogyny on the federal bench. there needs to be an inspector general for sexual-harassment on the federal bench. Apparently, it is widespread. Having judges police themselves is about effective as having gangsters police themselves. Ethics and the judiciary go together like oil and water.

I love this podcast but felt slightly deflated while listening to the episode about the DEI for men. I get the Alito impersonation from last year, which was scripted, BTW, but I did not personally love hearing an entire show of someone playing JD Vance and even in jest playing out gender and sex stereotypes for such a prolonged period. The train was off the rails and no one course corrected. I enjoy humor and shenanigans intermingled with serious argumentation and analysis. This show wasn't that. I have been waiting weeks to hear about the Project 2025 series rollout and recommended that my entire book club listen. I know they will not listen to another episode like this, which is a huge bummer. I just wish I had heard more genuine analysis and fewer hyperbolic impersonations. Please provide us with the actual language of the project, as suggested. I don't want to have to read it.

Our current SCOTUS is a waking nightmare and Strict Scrutiny feels like a lantern lighting our path through the darkness. I look forward to the show every week and feel grateful for all the hard work that Melissa, Kate, and Leah put into keeping us informed around recent rulings on top of their day jobs! Yes, the issues at hand NOW are Trump’s indictments but if you take a step back the decision allows Presidential immunity for “ official acts” for Presidents Nothing in the opinion states it’s only for Trump- it’s a huge expansion of presidential power for ALL Presidents, including Biden and all others down the road- unless SCOTUS reverses itself

These people make up stuff that didn’t happen a quick google search can debunk 50% of their points and they only bring on guests that completely agree with them it is a echo chamber also 75% of the episodes are just complaining about trump
