Love how James explains everything and breaks down one by one!

I started taking a basic accounting class online recently. I find the word problems to be fun and easy to understand. Yet I find understanding what type of account goes on which sheet to be complicated. I read the accounting textbook and completed the homework, but I am guessing the answers. This text did not give me the basic underlying principles. But this podcast does! Congratulations on explaining the counterintuitive “whys” for newbies like me!

His lessons are great. They are direct. He gives you the information you need and nothing else. I wish I would have had his ALE-RE explanation when I was in Principles I back in the day.

The host does a great job of explaining accounting in a simple, consise manner. I really love this podcast!

I have a bachelors in accounting and an MBA. I am 9 episodes in and feel like I understand it all so much better than I ever did in school! Wish this were around 10 years ago :-)

I needed to brush up on my accounting and tried this out. It started from ground zero perfect with the A|LE R|E method / acronym. I honestly wish I learned it this way to begin with.

This was extremely easy to follow! I love how the first few episodes are strictly fundamentals that are explained more in-depth later once the concept is grasped by the listener. I did have a question after episode two or three. I sent an email and was responded to promptly! I have since recommended this podcast to four of my other classmates. I hope he comes out with intermediate and advance accounting podcasts as my degree continues!! 10/10

I listened to this app several years after having taken accounting classes. This is a great app to help refresh your accounting memory. Jimmy does a great job of explaining the fundamentals. Even after having taken several accounting courses in the past, I was still very interested in listening to Jimmy’s podcast of accounting. I even played each episode more than once.

I have been transitioning to accounting and have taken classes for about 2 years. Wanted to quickly go through this podcast to supplement my knowledge. Overall a good podcast. Even being interested in accounting I found myself tuning out some, but worthwhile to keep practicing, learning and re-reviewing accounting topics.

This podcast is a good refresher of financial accounting necessary for entry level accountants. The host does an excellent job describing the key fundamentals that influence the practical application of accounting work. Five stars!

I have an advanced degree in tax law but no formal training in basic accounting. This is helping me build a foundation to fill this gap in my knowledge. I wish I could slow down the playback to 90% bc he talks a little fast for me. He explains things very carefully, and I appreciate this podcast.

So far I like the approach on the introduction and the explanation of accounting with the debts and credits, but what I would like to hear more would be adjusting entries, I find myself struggling with examples and understanding the point behind it and why it is the way it is. I discovered this podcast a couple of days ago and got hooked. The clarity and finesse of explanations make easy the approach to accounting even if you never ever took a class of accounting. Thank you for the work and hope you keep me coming in the next months!

I knew nothing about accounting when I started listening to this. I like the order in which topics are presented, and I like how careful he is to detail each step of the processes he’s explaining (ex- reiterating debit vs credit and how they affect different types of accounts when he references those types of accounts).

Great lessons! Quick and easy to follow either on the run or when you got idle time. Has been very helpful to reinforcing or getting point across what I’m learning in my accounting class.

Even after taking financial accounting, listening to your podcast is a great refresher. It even helped me see things from a different perspective. Always helping for the better. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

This podcast is easy to listen to, clear, and concise. I’m an accountant that has already graduated with an accounting degree who was looking for a podcast for review purposes over the fundamentals. I work in a multi-million dollar company and reviewing the basics is still needful in the field. I think this is a great podcast to tie the various concepts together. Very practical. As someone who deals with financial statements, but has never taken accounting, thus filled in gaps that I had.

I graduated a year ago with an associate’s degree in accounting. I’ve been working in accounting for a year now and have felt so lost. After listening to only the first 3 lessons I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. And that light is not an oncoming train. I wish I had this when I was in school. I was blown away by just the first couple of episodes. The episodes aren’t relatively long, but yet are very detailed and easy to follow. I highly recommend this podcast to any Accountant just getting started or taking some time for some tips and refreshers!!

He goes over everything throughly with examples. I’ve graduated with a bachelors and so it’s easier for me to follow along but this is a good refresher as well. I enjoy this podcast and find that he’s clear and concise.
