    Love it!
Used to hunt all the time when I was younger, kind of got out of it as I got a little older. Just turned 30 this past year and my son is 5. He shows some interest in it which in turn has got me wanting to get back in it, so I’ve been listening to the podcast to give me some new ideas and techniques to learn and show him as he learns! Thanks for an all around great podcast that goes in depth on some things that I have forgot! Keep up the great work as I look forward to the next show every week!

Great showcasing of professionalism and humor which as hunters we can all appreciate and relate to. I drive quite a bit for work and look forward to listening to the show each week. Keep up the excellent work guys!

    New Hunter
My Son told me he wanted to go hunting at the beginning of the season. I have never hunted before but felt like this was something we could do and learn together. The Information and stories you guys tell have been invaluable to helping us get started. We followed the signs and found the X on our small tract property. We’ve sat a bunch and had some young bucks and a bunch of Does come through. Trying to be patient though and wait for this 8 pointer we’ve seen a few times to come close though. Thank you guys and keep up the great work.

    All time favorite
I’m currently listening to the episode with Mr. Jody Meche and already he ranks right up there with Rick Cope and Richard Fought as one of my all-time favorite guests you’ve ever had on. The storytelling ability is top notch, and I love nothing more than to hear a man give all the glory to God! you guys continue to raise the bar with every episode! keep up the amazing work!

    Great escape
I’m a Bama boy who’s now raising three Georgia boys of my own near the Athens area. I appreciate y’all’s content. I’m a landscaper to pay the bills, but my heart is in land restoration (just not many clients around here in that field.) But I love to keep y’all on my headphones while I work. Even if I’m doing some suburban yard, it lets me pretend I’m out in the thick woods. Y’all ever come this way I -might- show you where the persimmons are hidden in the Redlands. Please keep up the good work and stay safe out there. -Aubrey Liverman

Thank you for the time you put in!
I appreciate what you guys do! I’m 29 years old and as lifelong deer hunter there’s a lot of topics you all discuss that I’ve thought about so many times over the years and catch myself, along with some of my buddies, scratching our heads on how to go about certain situations. The episodes with Bobby Worthington have been very helpful and I hope to be able to use some of these tactics and information in these Appalachian mountains to have better success for not only myself but my friends and family along side me!

    “Again,” Real and actionable content
I’m a College student in Birmingham area, and often travel to some family land in south Mississippi, and consume a lot of hunting content. I enjoy all of it but what makes the southern outdoorsman podcast special is their consistency in delivering actionable information. This podcast is easily the quickest way to learn about whitetail hunting tactics. A lot of other podcasts get a little too meta, talking about mindset and manifestation or whatever, which I’m fine with in moderation. I also enjoy the fact that Jacob and Andrew are clearly going through the struggle with the rest of us, and not magically killing giants every couple of weeks. One thing I’ll say, Jacob says “again,” a ton and it would be pretty funny if he suddenly became aware of it.

    MIC NOISE
Guys Iv religiously listened to y’all’s show from the beginning way back in 2018 and as y’all have gotten bigger the show has only gotten better. But I can’t listen to the background noise from your new MICROPHONE’S I know y’all have been using new ones for awhile and it picks up on your slightest breathing and moving or swallowing and idk if you can hear it but man does it drive me insane.

    Best Whitetail Podcast Out There
As a longtime android user, I’ve never been able to write a review on this podcast but have been listening since episodes were in the single digits. Just got an iPhone for work and writing this review is one of the first things I’m doing with it, this’ll be a long one. Don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t just a podcast for southern outdoorsmen. I live and mostly hunt north of the 45th parallel and have learned so much from this podcast over the years that I’ve been able to apply to my hunting and out some great bucks in the ground, especially for the areas I hunt. I’m one of those guys that consumes a ton of whitetail content, I listen to all of the podcasts, watch all of the big name youtube channels, follow the social media, read all the posts on the forums, read all the articles, etc. I also hunt a lot and when I’m not hunting I’m scouting or glassing or studying maps. Because I consume all of this content, particularly podcasts, I can usually tell you what the person being interviewed is going to say before they say it. That’s not the case with the Southern Oudoorsman. These guys do an awesome job finding new guests that haven’t already been interviewed on 10 other podcasts. They also do a great job asking questions that will help the listener. My only (all in good fun) beef with these guys is they are constantly lumping Midwestern states together with the stereotype that we are all hunting bed to food patterns in big ag. Most of the Midwest isn’t big ag, and has a lot more in common with the south than they might realize. Keep up the great content, would love to hear more on still hunting/spot and stalk tactics for big woods hill country in all phases of the whitetail season.

RIP the greatest intro in hunting podcast history
“Southern Child” from the eponymous (Lordy I hope the ginger bow-owner is reading this) southern rock album, was written and originally performed by Little Richard in 1972. Despite how much butt it kicks, and artwork consisting of a picture of Little Richard making kissy faces while wearing a fur vest, no shirt, and milking a Holstein, the album was shelved by Reprise Records and didn’t see the light of day till 2005. The title track’s brilliant 2020 cover by Blackberry Smoke just serves as further proof that what makes one Southern ain’t your race, genre, hair length, or broadhead choice, but rather the grease in yer groove and the honey on yer tongue. Five stars. PS: Jacob’s dating profile should state that he is looking for a woman with very large tracts of land. LITERALLY.

    Awesome
Thanks guys y’all do the best podcast I’ve listened to. Been listening for 3-4 years. Congrats to both of you on making it full time on the podcast. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Maybe y’all can film some more hunts that’d be cool. Thanks Luke from East Texas

    Really enjoy the pod
Two things, find a flatland/swamp hunter please. And it’ll be a little different from the usual content but I think a hunting club disaster story’s show would be fantastic! Rick

Hi guys, just started listening to your podcast on YouTube last week. I started hunting last year and harvested my first deer and with a bow late season and 2 doe following that kill. Followed ya on apple so I can hear all the episodes and maybe get the sticker pack 😉🤙🏼

Congrats Andrew on getting to go full time with the show. Don’t know how it could get much better, but excited to see what’s to come with both of yall being full timers.
  • MsPublic10
    Top notch
This is what the community has needed especially for the ones who grew up not having a mentor to learn from on how to hunt mature bucks. I’m glad to see there’s a big community who take hunting public serious

Can’t thank these guys enough after listening to the Garry Vines episode. Went and bought the Spurmaster and killed my first turkey by myself this season!

Great podcast and even better people
I had the pleasure of meeting Jacob and Andrew at the Southern Mobile Hunters expo and the guys that you hear/see every time you play an episode will be the guys you get when you start a conversation with them in person. They took the time talk deer and tactics with everyone who wanted too despite being tired and probably needing a water break or maybe a beer lol. If you listen to the podcast and apply the tactics you will grow as a hunter and see results. Great work guys and keep it up!

If this podcast was any better it would come with free Reese’s cups.
I spend my days behind the wheel of a fedex truck and this podcast keeps me rolling. I’ve listened to every episode and multiple episodes more than once. Guest list is phenomenal and the listener success stories are insane!

This show/podcast is awesome!! I have learned tons of stuff and have had a lot of good entertainment from you guys!!

    Information Overload
This podcast has helped me tremendously since I started listening in 2019. I’ve taken in tons of information but I think it’s important to especially pay attention to tactics that have worked for others that hunt the same types of areas as you. Since I hunt the Arkansas mountains, I loved hearing guys like Drew Atkinson and Kelsey Moss. Keep throwing in an Arkansas mountain hunter every now and then. Keep up the great work guys.
  • DBN1988
Great if you hunt the southeast
It’s nice getting to listen to how other people hunt in the southeast, instead of the typical Midwest hunting. It’s much more relatable and helpful.
