    No punches pulled!
These guys give a great “no holds barred” look at the rpg hobby. They’re smart and experienced, funny and extremely interesting

Great GM podcast (for any system)
Excellent podcast about TTRPG’s and GMing. Not all 5e content (which is a good thing!) but even when they’re on about something other then “your game” you can always take-away something useful or intriguing. The hosts have good chemistry (will they? Won’t they!?) and feel like genuinely good guys. Give it a listen.

    Upped My Game
I’m a new DM and the tips Matt and Rob give really have improved my games. My players are more engaged and I’m less stressed.

Great and fun show with some mine flaws
I’ve really enjoyed this podcast over time. Matt and Rob have a lot of good advice and are smart enough to go outside of DnD lore to look for inspiration in their games. They explore genre and different game systems in depth and insightfully. They definitely seem to have a style and yours might not always agree with theirs, mine doesn’t frequently, but it’s still beneficial to hear the conversation, imho. I particularly have enjoyed their explorations of the origins/inspiration of different classes, and the problematic nature of some of those origins. Two bits of things I’ve disliked over time: 1. The review episodes have devolved towards “10 ways WOTC could have formatted the book differently.” Instead of talking in depth about the content, I found the last few to spend a lot of time on small nitpicks about the book they disliked, like a particular piece of lore or some writing choice they made like notes from a fictional author. Personally, I want to hear about the DM content and if the subclasses/monsters/spells are interesting or ideas with them, and less about the layout of the book. 2. They very well may know this already and account for it, but - Matt interrupts Rob a lot. Noticeably so. Not on purpose I believe, he just has a thought he wants to share and starts talking over Rob. It’s been disappointing a few times when Rob was on a roll with something I found interesting only for Matt to cut him off and go in a different direction. This is a habit many people have and it can be tough to break, but for the sake of the show and good discussion I think Matt needs to work on it a bit. Overall still a very fun show that I think you should definitely check out!!

Good for Reviews - Advice episodes can be a little… meandering

    Great DM advise
Wonderful insight into RPGs and on point hot takes of culture. Good job destroying chuds while helping with my D&D games

    Good except for the stupid
The hosts have a good rapport together and present some good content. Gotta drop a couple stars due to the over the top virtue signaling and trying to create drama where there’s none. Granted I’ve only listened to a handful of episodes, but batting average for these things appears to be quite high.

    Experienced DM’s giving good tips
These two have a lot to advice to offer. I’ve been listening to D&D podcasts (non-live play) for 4 years and I’d rank them in my top 3 most helpful podcasts I’ve tried out - definitely worth a try if you’re a DM trying to improve your craft.

One of my favorites! Always come away wanting to try something new in my games.

    Great stuff
I recently started playing DnD again after a long hiatus. I found this podcast while looking around for resources to help knock the rust off, and it’s great. Good ideas and discussion - I went back through the whole archives!

Terese Nielsen-hit piece disguised as legal analysis
Please subscribe to this podcast if you can’t/won’t think for yourself and prefer to read “an article” on a subject before you consider yourself an expert on the subject enough to smear a public figure. Extremely biased, hit piece on a former member of the MTG artist community while also a long term member of another CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED group of people. Pretty disgraceful.

Dungeons & Damages is a work of art
The episode where the host and a guest lawyer wildly speculate on pending litigation is weirdly compelling g D&D content. You didn’t know you need this podcast, but you do.

Only one I keep up with.
I listen to lots of podcasts and books. This is the only one I come back to every day just incase they upload one out if the normal schedule. I absolutely love this podcast and appreciate their wisdom.

    An excellent program
Matt and Rob are a great cast that provide an interesting take on D&D in an approachable manner. It’s clear they love D&D, role playing games, and the community around it!
  • Space Race Alex
    Exceptional D&D Talk Show Podcast
This rather consistent, weekly Dungeons and Dragons podcast, DMs Matt and Rob (and sometimes the elusive Special Guest Andy) tackle issues ranging from: reviewing the latest D&D book, answering viewer questions/concerns, DMing for kids, terrible D&D movies, home brew content, and the occasional spicy take (i.e gatekeeping = bad, open mind = good, and you should feel like a jerk if you do it). It’s clear they care about their audience, and the D&D community as a whole.

    Kenny Dennis FTW
I’m three episodes in and the talk and advice is great, but five stars for the use of Kenny Dennis in episode 2. For real though, this is a good way to nerd out as a dungeon master and get some good ideas for your table.

Good podcast, keeps me coming back
Rob and Matt are your two favorite kinda grumpy uncles that have been playing TTRPG’s for most of their lives, are a bit crusty around the edges, and have seen it all before. This puts them in a unique position to review products and teach players and DM’s new and old. They have a lot of experience and you can tell they really know what they’re talking about, but they aren’t infallible. They look at creating certain types of homebrew through the lens of them personally not being very good at creating those homebrews. That and they seem to mispronounce literally every name of anything they say on purpose. But other than that it’s a great and informative podcast with two cool guys that know a lot and are pretty funny. I’ll continue listening as long as they keep making content.

    Great DM Podcast
These guys have great chemistry and obvious passion for the role-playing hobby. This is one of a few 'must listen' podcasts for me. Thanks so much for putting it together.

    The Best DM Podcast
As a fairly new dungeon master, I must give my thanks for this podcast. I’ve listened to dozens of episodes the past couple weeks and my play group is loving all I’m bringing to the table thanks to all the wonderful tips I’ve picked up from this show. Many thanks!

    Good Pod
Great advice, not afraid to be controversial, I can’t wait to see what they have to say about the upcoming Eberron book.
  • BrandonC41
Great rpg podcast for all skill levels
I love how woke this podcast is and that they dunk on Penny Arcade. 10 out of 10

    My Fav DM/RPG Show
This is hands down one of the best "how to RPG" podcasts out there. I came upon it via a Twitter suggestion, and I have powered through every available episode. The amount of stuff I have learned could fill a library! The hosts are fantastic. They actually care about the state of the RPG world, about making RPGs better and inclusive to everyone, etc. This makes for a show that really tries to think about the "why" and the "how" than just "because I can." Basically, you should listen to this show if you are at all interested in DMing an RPG OR if you love TTRPGs in general.
  • Cscouter
    Good podcast, better politics
I’ve always been a fan of the show: they give good advice and keep me current on what’s going on in the world of TTRPGS so I can better serve my player base. Recently, they had a show that got a little political and they made fun of John McCain, and the show has never slapped harder. Good to know these boys are good at helping dms craft riveting narratives AND calling out war-mongering, hypocritical, mass-murdering psychopaths.

    It’s SYSK the D&D edition
It’s fun and a bit tangential with good content. This show reminds me of the podcast Stuff You Should Know but with all the nerdy RPG details I love.

    Great Listen
Good advice, good sound quality, good banter. One of the few D&D discussion shows that is well rounded and fun to listen to.

    Magic items

    I’m out
I have been a subscriber for several months now and have listened to all episodes. I may have disagreed with some of the hosts’ opinions on gaming, but generally I found their advice to be both helpful and insightful. I have mostly overlooked their forays into political opinion, as I don’t think it really has a place in this type of podcast. Although I am willing to admit issues of inclusivity and cultural sensitivity DO need to be addressed in our hobby, I felt their tirades wandered into territory best left to other venues. Still, I continued listening. However, insulting a recently deceased war veteran has done it for me. Senator McCain, like him or not, seemed an honorable man that deserved respect. I didn’t care for the 2008 campaign jab at D&D players either, but I didn’t let it tarnish his entire being. John McCain didn’t get my vote then, but it was for many other reasons than a minor insult to RPGers. I still respected his service in both the military and the Senate. The hosts were jerks about the mans death, and they had no need to be. I’m sure neither of them really care what I think, but hopefully there are others who feel the same as I do. Guess I will ‘go kick rocks’. Coming from a Left leaning Moderate in the South, I think these two give Liberals a bad name. Just stick to gaming advice, guys.

Cool and smart D&D podcasting duo!!
Now that D&D is finally cool wouldn’t you like a D&D podcast who’s hosts are cool too?! After scouring the Internet for a smart, topical, engaging AND non-cringe-inducing D&D podcast I’ve finally found my “jam”! It’s the “news, analysis and insight” podcast for Dungeons and Dragons fans, players and DMs (and especially for NEW DMs!) Deep and crunchy enough for the already initiated but always mindful of newcomers... Great podcast! If you’re trying to DM for the first time this podcast is DEFINITELY for you! They have tons of great tips for starting your game, world building, and engaging your players! They also do a great job of breaking things down to the essentials and explaining the basics of D&D! (Telling a story as a group!) For experienced gamers or folks new to role playing games, if you like to hear smart D&D conversation, product reviews, crunchy role playing game “mechanics” discussions, or just 2 guys “in the know” talking about all-things-D&D THIS PODCAST IS ALSO FOR YOU! The hosts are great...super knowledgeable, a couple of sharp mofos (they have opinions and high standards, which I love!). They have a sense of humor and try to make each other laugh which makes me laugh! Also they surprise you with the occasional funny audio clips and regular awesome/hilarious music clips. Most importantly they have a genuine enthusiasm and interest in sharing what they love about role playing games. I can’t say enough good stuff about this podcast!!! CHECK IT OUT!

    Why Another DM Podcast...?
Why do we need yet another DM podcast? I dunno, but these guys bring a distinctive perspective and I'm getting a lot out of it. Definitely worth adding to your lineup.

    My favorite new show
I recently stumbled upon this podcast and have been bingeing it ever since. I am a (somewhat) experienced player and think I’m going to a better player after listening. I’m also going to be DMing for the first time soon and think listening has set me up for success. Anyone who loves Dungeons and Dragons, listen! Do it!
  • roll20sforpeople
They have great taste in music.
I really love this podcast! I’m a not a new to D&D but I took a very long break from it. But I recently became a DM(Critical Roll got me back in and my kids became interested also) and Matt and Rob are great at explaining the game. They talk about how to start a campaign and keep players interested. All of their advice is great. I think the best advice I have gotten from their show is that D&D is a shared game between players and DM. It has really changed the way I create the experience at the table. My players keep coming and we are having a ton of fun thanks to Matt and Rob. Thanks! Darren Riley “ A moderately popular Twitch Dm”makes me giggle every time.

    Slide into your DM
Matt introduced me to rpgs irl and it’s great to hear what the game was like if I was actually a good player.

    Great show for D&D fans
A great show for people who want to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons

    Subscribe! DO IT
Full disclosure: one of the hosts is my DM. That said, this is def worth a subscription and regular listen! Rob and Adam have a great rapport and passion for the hobby. They bring a great critical perspective to the current landscape based on years of expertise/experience that is fit for the expert or the layman (myself). As a player who came to RPGing through boardgaming, they make a fun-size approachable product that will leave you entertained and enlightened. The musical stings/audio drops bring flavor and intrigue. I love listening while walking the dog or at the gym. Give DMoN a shot, you won’t regret it!
