SallyMonsterCome for the singing......stay for the singing. I’m a design executive at a Fortune 100 company (I’m not kidding), and this podcast reminds me that grownup adult businessy type people can have fun and be silly. Thank you for thawing my cold, dead heart.

Stereotypical SeattleEnough with Team JonathanHilarious design adjacent podcast filled with wit and wisdom from industry veterans. But while Jake and Jonathan are a great pair the same cannot be said of their respective fan bases. Online and off Team Jonathan are trolls looking for trouble — a polar opposite to the serene and self assured members of Team Jake. But this is news to no one. What more can we expect from Berlin-based klugscheissers who don’t know a hamburger menu from a hamburger? #teamjake4eva

AngelaJoyJThe b e s t Monday morning jamLong time listener, ever since the PB days! 🥣 Sometimes, especially during COVID, it’s easy to get a little jaded about the world and find things you’re normally super passionate about not be as exciting. Hearing two buds just having a good time hanging out and also sharing silly little nuggets of industry news has been good for my soul. It somehow helps me see the world and also my own work through a brighter lens! Highly recommend to anyone interested in having a laugh while maybe also learning something useful about product along the way. Be prepared to never think of Gandalf the same way again and also hear about the weather. 🧙🏻♂️🌬 ALL THE STICKS!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Jess A ReviewEpisode 138 outroLong time listener (actually, just a few months). Have no idea what they talk about sometimes but I busted a gut laughing at Jonathan sing out of this episode. Deserves all the stars.

anantonon75∞ STICKS!Thanks for the podcast. I know a lot of people said that, by it’s really ACTUALLY much nicer to relax while listening to informal rumblings about life with some real gold bars of insight in between than to to boring, formal, politcorrect crap that feels like a class in college or something (Yeah, hate that InVision podcast 😅). You are in my top 3 podcasts, and I actually listen to 25 regularly. :0 Also, loved the #buysprint :)

Primus2112💦🦔Very entertaining with occasional useful design/process/business/life info. I do sometimes wonder if Jake and Jonathan have brainwashed me. I’ve bought all their books and the masterclass. To be fair, I read Sprint before I knew about this podcast, and am very happy with the time and money I’ve invested in their stuff. This podcast isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it’s gold. 💦🦔

HowieWorkIt is a long 💭 deliberated 🤔 review... (revised)(My revised review/add new thoughts & questions) It's Howie again! I hope everything at AJ&Smart is going well. I recently finished updating my website and made the first move of getting into the product design industry. :) And thanks for your podcast Jake&Jonathan. They are super fun and great companions for young professions who are new to this industry. Currently, I am focused on finding an Internship/Junior product/UX designer opportunities while learning continuously. I believe in "learning by doing". Two main questions I thought you would be the right people to be asked (I understand you are very busy and I will keep it short): My interest is products for education/architecture. Considering my background, it seems hard for me to even find a practice opportunity. Considering gain experience asap is vital for now, should I look at any possible practice opportunity instead of focusing on my interest? I have applied to many firms including large corporations/design agencies. (mostly internships) I find it is hard to get HR's attention to my website. (I checked my website stats constantly) I assumed they ignored me instantly after browsing my resume (background as an architectural designer/without HCI related degrees) Is there any advice you could think of to solve this issue? (My previous review for JJ) Hi Jake and Jonathan, I have been listening to your podcast for a while, mostly when walking or showering. I very much like it so far. Mainly because it always brings me surprise. And the 'song' is so catchy. Sometimes, it starts to linger all of sudden as a remainder of the podcast. Guess its ultimate function is showing up. Also, I have a general question: do you define you as an introvert or extrovert? how does it relate to your career development? I asked this question because of Cain's book Quiet. She mentioned that "loneliness increases creativity and innovation". We all know, as a UX/Product designer, both creativity and an excellent communication skill set are required. For me, there seems to be a conflict here. I oftentimes find it is hard to allocate my time to "being alone" or "group-think" in this pro-extroverted industry. Thanks, Hao

Anton Korolev - Moscow, Russia10 zillion sticks!Jake and Jonathan make me laugh every time I listen to their casual conversations. They make my days better, they give solid advice AND they do the best voice sound effects. It's the best podcast about design and non-design.

New Orleans James1 Million Sticks!!!Over the last two years I’ve spent a good time listening to many design podcasts and somehow find myself coming back to Jake & Jonathan (formerly PBC) the most. What’s so amazing about this podcast is that it’s so honest and transparent. Even for two incredibly successful people, they have similar struggles as the rest of us. Managing life, coworkers, clients, critics, etc. and how they discuss these challenges is what makes it so relatable. Which is probably why J&J end up being my go to podcast - as well as Exponent (which Jonathan turned me on to). Whereas podcasts like Tim Ferris or InVision can be inspiring, yet it’s hard to connect those insights to my daily life. J&J do just that. PS more Amr cameos in 2020 would great, thank you!!

bhevjRuth MachineA million sticks. This is a great podcast that scratches many itches.

juan.gonzalezpMore than a year listening itSo... just bought an iPhone, open podcasts app subscribe to the podcast and leave the owed review from more than a year ago. I have been listening to you guys from a lot time now, and even if is just rant conversations there‘s always something valuable of you... and entertainment of course! Keep it up!
-
_logan w_Perfectly WeirdI can't InVision anyone illuminating Design Better than these two. Everyone else should just stop trying. A fantastic, transparent, vulnerable, and weird exploration of daily design and product life.
-
Owen from AtlantaPuts me in a design ~mood~If you want to listen to two moderately distracted designers ramble on about books they haven’t read and have meta discussions about the state of their own podcast, settle in big fella, you’re in for a treat. Jake actively berates the podcast’s organization while Jonathan laughs maniacally and then talks about his feelings. But they have good points about design, running a business, and making time (buy make time) for creative endeavors. These guys are the best. I almost cried when they pulled that fake cancellation.

lucyruthdarbyThis podcast will ruin your lifeI started listening to Jake & Jonathan (a.k.a. The Podcast Formerly Known As Product Breakfast Club) earlier this year and have been binge-listening practically non-stop on a daily basis. I won't stop mentioning it to my coworkers, my family and my friends. This podcast will prompt you to spend a frightening amount of money on every single book recommendation these two have mentioned. You'll transform the way you approach networking (#CanvasStrategy) and the way you hold conversations with others (#JUSTLISTEN). You may start quietly singing the PBC outro as a way to end awkward conversations. Their delightful, unadulterated "ramblefests" are the most refreshing thing ever to grace the podcast space. Insightful, helpful, authentic, and hilarious. The most frustrating thing about this podcast is that it didn't exist earlier. Thank you both for such a valuable resource and please don't ever stop. #buysprint

Ivanna_77Wet guysThe opposite of a dry podcast. Very wet and moist.

KatielangermanIf Headspace were funny and for designersThis podcast is weird in the best possible way. Its lighthearted and fun while still being (sometimes) product/design related. Its not at all serious but still keeps you in your subconcious design headspace. No other podcast hosts make me laugh like Jake & Jonathan. Never stop singing!

bkellogg117This podcast will take you on a journey!I found this podcast, and consequently AJ&Smart, and consequently the Sprint Book (Buy Sprint!), and consequently went to school for Product Design, and consequently quit cause this podcast and other realted content was teaching more than school, and consequently got a high paying job very quickly, and consequently left to start my own agency, and consequently am writing this review.
-
SometimesHappensAbsolutely gold!Casual podcast on design, business, and random topics that tend to be super interesting. I look forward to this podcast every week. If you’re new to it, yes, they really do sing in the intro and the content does often come back to the book Sprint which was authored by one of these guys. It’s a great book and I’m confident you’ll pick up something from listening to this podcast.
-
Dan-O-22Most Fun To Listen To Product PodcastAlways look forward to hearing Jake and Jonathan. There’s a guest here and there and product nuggets thrown in to boot. Sponsors are missing out if they haven’t jumped on this gem. (Hint: MeUndies & SquareSpace) #BuySprint

schaghayeghTHE BEST PODCAST EVER!I have been listening to a lot of podcasts recently, mostly design related. Out of like maybe 9-10 podcasts that I found and listened to, none of them were as interesting and entertaining as PBC... they are either boring and there is nothing exciting about it.. some have these guests that are just there to sell and brag themselves.. I’m this With these qualities and that qualities I’m god basically! Come on!!! Just stop it! Good for you! But PBC was really engaging, entertaining, and interesting. It feels like you’re listening to your friends talking about designs and sometimes not design related... and it’s organic! I was looking forward to go and drive and stuck in traffic to listen to previous episodes till I catch up for weekly episodes.. and not even a single time I had to fast forward or skip an episode. Jake and Jonathan are the best. Thank you for taking your time and creating these podcasts. #bestpodcastever

Shane O'TooleReally enjoyable podcastRelaxed approach and gives a lot to think about!
-
@GarrettSmithDesignInspiring, educational, ridiculousListening to Jonathon and Jake is like getting quality time with career mentors that’s usually very hard to come by. It’s also silly as hell at times, which is why it’s so fun in addition to being a terrific source of design industry knowledge. Check out these episodes to get started and be inspired: - Episode 49: Mona Patel on Starting and Growing a Multi-Million Dollar Design Agency - Episode 60: Life Lessons Learned

Donzo!Super dopeLove the podcast! It’s super fun and informative. It has helped me learn how I want my voice to sound in my content. Mucho gracias!
-
Leah-cFavorite PodcastProduct Breakfast Club is one of my favorite podcasts! Really easy and enjoyable to listen to. Always learning something interesting. Jake and Jonathan are hilarious, real, down to earth, and just go with the flow. They are super knowledgeable and admit that they don’t know everything. Love how they just do their thing and don’t care what others think.
-
StanfordtreeLove the casual style that doesn't require too much thinkingEOM

Eyal-MuzeThe only review you should read! This podcast is my Coffee machine small talk! At my studio, I don’t have the right people to to talk with about products and innovation, sharing ideas, and be up to date, and these guys are filling up the gap for me! Right now I’m just listening backwards in time... Jonathan voice sounds younger and higher, it’s a bit creepy but except that all the rest is good!. P.S When brittni will be invited? Keep the hard work and push things forward!! Eyal Talmon, co-founder of Muze - a product design agency based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
-
Katie Joy B.Passionate Product Peeps!Jake, Jonathan, and their incredible guests shine the brightest of lights on the product industry and the great people within it! Engaging, informative, and downright hilarious are just a few of the words I’d use to describe the time you’ll spend with them. Thanks so much for putting out such a spectacular show guys - keep up the great work!
-
1981116gumbandOne topic showCame over from The Talk Show because of the sponsorship. Of the dozen or so showed I’ve listened to, they all come down to evangelizing design sprints. Nice enough presenters but no variety in content. Also, the off key singing is genuinely off putting.
-
Mimmy0210My favorite podcast! It's really relaxing to listen these guys talking while I'm driving to work. It's funny, thoughtful and I can learn some stuff. I'm recommending this podcast to my coworkers too.
-
LLinATLKeeping it realI love how these two keep it real and authentic. They have the knowledge and experience to talk in a way that's really enjoyable. They vibe well together.
-
keaton_taylorA breath of fresh air in a stuffy and self important sceneLove the fun nature of the podcast. Jake and Jonathan have a hilarious and obvious connection. Listen if you love silliness, thoughtfulness and whatever the mostly positive version of a hot take is.
-
Matthew J ClarkeWork is play and play is workIn this podcast, great minds come together and stop caring if they sound so great. For that reason, 5 stars all the way. Shout out to all the episodes where they ask for reviews. This is the first podcast review I’ve written.
-
YourAverageJoeCitizenPeople helping peopleThis podcast brings laughs and realism to the hecktick agency/design world. The candor and honesty from the two hosts couldn't be funnier, yet somehow, its tactically helpful from a business and strategy perspective. There is little talk about design and products directly, but you can't help but feel like it was time well spent. AJS is crushing it & Jonathan seems to want to share and spread that feeling around. MakeTime & Sprint are nuggets of gold & Jake seems to be practicing what he preaches. (Its significantly changed the way I work for the better). If you're going to listen to them all, start on episode 4+ All of the interviews are worth listening to.
-
Gwynplaine920The work podcast that doesn’t feel like work.I’ve gotten more useful work insights and recommendations out of this podcasts than perhaps any other. But unlike some of the other design podcasts, this one is actually funny and fun and geeky in the perfect amount. I find myself looking forward to it on Sundays! Great way to start the week. #BuySprint!

slapsh0t11Ok but not greatOccasionally interesting, but better listened to when it's not the main thing you're paying attention to

CBlatchJohn Gruber sent me hereHeard the ad on The Talk Show, and John was right. Amazing podcast for anyone who likes tech and likes to laugh. Great rambling 👍
-
HankPopperAlways worth the timeThere’s usually a bit of banter, and they go off and on topic, but it’s always helpful. Lately, it’s been less design-focused and more product, which I very much appreciate.
-
MixakoatlhThe best product podcast aroundI’m a huge fan of AJ & Smart they have an amazing team behind the Instagram stories and YouTube videos. This podcast is a more intimate touch that is full of resources, opinions and comedy. I love it. From the singing of the first seconds to the singing of the last second of each episode. I think I listened to all of them. 10/10.
-
NCervantesSilly Fun InformativeThese guys are fun and hilarious but also full of rich, solid information! I’ve learned so much and also felt reassured with the personal stories they share as I can so relate them to my own career growth and growth of my new business! Love it!
-
Chis cringleBest design podcastWhile working at HomeAway I worked with Jake, Braden, Michael and a others on a sprint before it was a thing. I’ve ran at least one per month since then with great success. These two have no boundaries and creativity think about what could be if people just used common sense. They also have a great sense of humor.
-
ditdahdahditLike a morning radio show, with a helping of product adviceI listen to a few other product/business shows like Well Made, Thoroughly Considered, and Masters of Scale. They're super valuable. What makes Product Breakfast Club unique is that they approach the subject in the least serious way possible. Jake and Jonathan are hilarious. They also happen to be product and design experts. They tend to take their sweet time getting to the main topic, but once they do, there are some great lessons to be pulled from the conversations. If you enjoy a little rambling with your learning, you'll enjoy the show.
-
BenBrammerGreat leading edge discussionThese guys know their stuff, there’s plenty of rambling to keep energy up, but it’s great to listen to genuine conversation about product strategy, business environments, and practical tricks to help move individuals and teams forward. 5 stars, would listen again, despite the off key singing at the top of the episode.
-
KimSiaListensToPodcastsThis is my first review of any podcast and I love this oneMy fave episodes have to be the one with Mona Patel, the last episode of 2018 where Jake and Jonathan got really honest about how the year went for them, and finally the most recent one where they talk about Connie Chang's article on products. They have a unique style which may put off some people who prefer a more polished delivery. But this is their signature style. I am moved by the honesty they display particularly when they were doing their review of 2018 especially about what worked and didn't. As a business owner and obsessed product person, there are very few podcasts that are willing to "spill blood" and cover product management/design. Long may this podcast continue.
-
Threata13The EPIC ramblefest continues in 2019!Tech, Products, Strategy, Rambling... cooler than the other side of the pillow!

StreamQuestsDown to earth product discussionProduct Breakfast Club is not what many other design podcasts claim to be. They are not refined, practiced, or deliberate. Jonathan and Jake instead present a very raw and open window into their silly discussions. Is every minute wildly useful? Honestly, no. However, I do look forward to each and every episode and make it a priority to listen to. They seem to have found a new mixture of content + presentation that truly works. The hosts are very knowledgable in their fields and have helped me to not only understand trends in product strategy, design, and operations, they have pointed me in the direction that helps me to learn things for myself. That being said, if you want a direct IV feed of raw information, this probably isn't the podcast for you. If you are in the product space, I heartily recommend the PBC, I'm sure you will find something of value in it.

skyskymomoMy favorite podcast ever!I’ve listened to every single episode, it’s the best! Excited for a new episode every Monday.
