The production on these episodes is fantastic! I really like the way it’s written, puts you right in the middle of the story, and does a great job of illustrating different perspectives of those that were there. Seems like a lot of research goes into every episode. Lindsey Graham’s narration is dramatic and compelling. I’ve done a deep dive on this podcast and have learned so much, thank you Lindsey Graham!

As an aspiring history buff as well as someone who travels long distances for work, I find this podcast great for absorbing as much information as I can while on the road. The topics are interesting and Graham does a great job avoiding political partialities, which is difficult when dealing with history. Some topics are brand new to me and others go into more depth on common subjects. Fun and full of new and interesting facts.

Thanks for Season 68 on the Pinkerton Detective Agency. I didn’t know much of the history and what Allan Pinkerton was like. Nothing has changed in over 150 years. He sounds just like the 45th from New York, especially with the branding and loyalty required of his underlings. The “official line” and that they “were not who they said they were” …..

Honestly this is a great podcast I learned a lot but I don’t think “spongebobbyhil589”really understands this,honestly why so negative?you sound like you didn’t actually listen to this podcast.

I love this show. It got me into podcasts in the first place. It’s provides an in depth analysis of events that make up American history. Many people say there are too many ads, but it’s really not much. I would advise this to anyone.

My academic background is PolySci, History, and Library and Information Science. There is no better source I’ve found for succinct, accurate, entertaining and informative storytelling of America’s important periods and personalities.

A wonderful show. I just wanted to point out one error concerning Saint John Paul 2. John Paul 2 died on April 2, 2005. You did get the canonization date right of 2014. But other than that I truly enjoy this show as I am a lover of history.

I’m a naturalized American and I love this show. I’ve learned so much about American history from it. Lindsey does a great job explaining the intricacies of history, politics and conflict in such an approachable way. And I really like the dramatizations. They break the monotony of these generally dry subjects and they make you put yourself in the shoes of the people involved even for a few seconds adding more impact.

This is the best history podcast I have found for my daily drive

First off, I am a 46 year Public History Grad student with a family, so my drives to and from work are perfect opportunities to learn from and listen to this great resource. I like to study topics I feel aren’t necessarily on everyone’s radar, and I get a pang of excitement every time I hear something I am researching brought up in an episode (like the Bonus March of 1932). Additionally, anytime a historical figure or event makes multiple appearances as part of different stories or season, the show broadens the context of the wild and varied history of the U.S. I also love Graham’s storytelling, a skill he uses to great effect. Some ideas for shows (from subjects I have explored) The U.S. during the Year Without a Summer (1816) The Attica Prison Rebellion Film Censorship in the 20th century That said, I look forward to whatever the show’s creators come up with next! The recent World War I episode was fantastic.

Absolutely great podcast. It’s quickly become my favorite. The detail and connections made between history and reflections of current society are unparalleled. Please do a season on James Buchanan and Dred Scott decision.

Love this podcast and this series. Working so much I don’t have as much time to read as I’d like. But listening to these shows helps me learn so much. Hearing little known stores and unknown historic events is fascinating. Started off just listening to the subjects I was interested in the most but now I’m going back to listen to them all. If you like history you’ll love this show.

Did you think you learned about history in school? You probably only scratched the surface! These are some deep dives into very interesting topics! I always enjoy this show. It’s such great quality. The sound effects add a lot to the show and the levels are perfect with the levels of the host, so they don’t blow your ear drums when they come on or they don’t overpower the host when they’re meant to be background. It’s entertaining, educational, and no political bias. I even revisit episodes often!

High production value. Decently balanced. I was looking for a good history podcast that seemed more like a history class. Most of the ones I come across are either “weird history” or “history of headlines” type shows. While this doesn’t flow quite like a class curriculum, it’s easy enough to navigate, and it follows “major” historical events, but includes some deep dives. The “acting” can get a bit hokey, but it gets better as they add voice actors. And it’s not distracting.

Love listening to this podcast! I just really wish I could opt out of the ads that are for alcohol or the stuff you’re supposed to drink before drinking alcohol so you don’t “feel terrible.” I’m a recovering alcoholic and it’s just kinda yucky to me. 😕

They add nothing to the podcast and often keep me from listening. Also, there’s an R in forward.

Ive listened through darn near all the seasons and have enjoyed them all. Its a great way to get some behind the scenes looks at how history has been made. Stories are told in a way that you really can picture the moments and come away with some knowledge and maybe a change of heart on how you viewed the history makers.

Stories are presented in a very relatable format. Love the immersive feel of it. Somewhat reminiscent of time travel. Great production.

If you are looking for suggestions I would recommend looking into the Kensington Ruenstone.

This podcast is great. It captures the listener’s attention right away. Anyone from a child to the elderly will like this.

Great podcast. It’s like a spy novel only true to life. So very interesting to learn about real accounts of espionage throughout history. I hope there are more stories to come.

Listened to the reconstruction era. Y’all need to study history a lot more. Especially about the south. How did African Americans get here? It wasn’t the American people that brought them here. And you also need to look into how African American people were sold to traders buy there own people🤔. Get the facts straight!!

I have learned details about pieces of history I don’t remember learning about in school. The podcasts interesting to listen to and seems to take great care in having accurate details.

The Wondery team does a great job of taking both known and obscure historical events and breaking them into enjoyable bite size pieces. I would love to see them do a series on the Dust Bowl soon!

This podcast started an almost year long kick of only listening to history podcasts. I’ve truly learned so much & expanded my knowledge on history I was already familiar with

I am a 60+ black American. I knew a lot that I learned in school but your podcast episodes taught me some things I did not know. Especially about the sympathetic Quakers ofNew Garden North Carolina. North Carolina is my home state but I did not grow up there. I have family there.It’s interesting how some of the current Guilford County historical websites (formally New Garden) make no mention of the abolitionist history. in this age of “book, banning” and “white washing” of black American history in slavery, your podcast does a tremendous service.

Best thing I’ve ever followed. Engaging interesting and deeply informative. I have been particularly struck by the objective and evenhanded recounting of our very checkered American history. Finding those very few criticisms of the show as being biased, or woke, to be quite amusing. Idiots.

Me and my dad listen to this together and we love it. I’m fifteen and I literally eat sleep and breathe this podcast. Lindsey Graham is a seriously talented storyteller. Keep it up man!!

I loved this podcast in the beginning, I felt for the most part it was an unbiased retelling of history aside from the guest interviews at the end of each season, but as the season progress I’m finding the narrative is starting lean heavily to one side.

Look Lindsey Graham is great and his content is probably the best out there BUT I was disappointed on something he got wrong about Reagan. He made Reagan sound like a hero for changing his ideologies like he was a truly deep philosopher but he wasn’t. He was flipped and manipulated into his later life ideology by the FBI and his second wife Nancy “Throat Goat” Reagan. It’s actually a really Fascinating story of how he was basically brain washed like they said the communists were doing to us in the 50s.

My kids love the show! It’s the only educational program they willingly listen to.

I’m 13 and not kidding you, when we go on long drives it’s all I can listen to. Me and my dad both love it. It’s SOOO good!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A broad range of American history is covered and each season looks at how Americans are affected across a wide spectrum. So much of American history repeats itself, and this show makes it quite clear that we don’t often learn from the horrors of our history….

I am in 8th grad and go to a Christian school. Because I I go to a Christian school they incorporate God into everything. Don’t get me wrong I love to learn about God but I also like to learn about history. This podcast has helped me pass all of my tests when most in my class would fail. When I went on a American history family trip I could say facts about almost every stop we were at. There are a lot of adds but how else is this podcast meant to make money. I love this podcast and so as every person I have recommended it to.
