I thought this was a podcast about Daft Punk or Giorgio. It was, in fact, the gateway into my life calling. I am giving up a career in dancing to pursue a board game that I hadn’t heard of until today. I hope the game can also be played in under two hours.

I’ve been playing TI4 for a couple years now, and even though I can’t play the game that often, these guys have kept me invested in the community since 2022. Keep on doing your thing, Matt and Hunter! Also, sorry for the meltdown on Discord in 2023, I was in a bad place in my life.

I was going to offer a buck for this podcast, but these guys gave it away for free! It’s such a good deal I fear people won’t let me get away with it. I’m still considering offering my Support…. but find myself stalling. I have been saving my resources for a trip to my neighbor’s. If anyone has any advice, I’d love to hear it as long as you talk fast and don’t waste time.

Out of all the podcasts that talk about ‘direct hit’ this one has to be my favorite. In a world with so many people starting podcasts these days everybody just thinks they can sit down and talk about ‘direct hit’. Few dare to go deeper than ‘After another player’s ship uses sustain damage to cancel a hit produced by your units: Destroy that ship.’ but these boys do, every, single, week, and I just can not get enough of it. Eagerly awaiting the recently announced, 4 part HBO miniseries, “Direct Hit: When to risk it - brought to you by Triscuit“. Just glad these cats are involved in the show, afraid my Triscuit wouldn’t have the same crunch if they weren’t. Thank you for another day on this earth Nabisco.

My favorite sauce at Taco Bell is the fire sauce. I always grab a few extra if I can. I like to put it in ramen or on any variety of snacks. It’s not illegal to grab fistfuls of sauce from the napkin/sauce/silverware area. One time when I was joining through drive thru the cashier gave me 37 packets of “Diablo Sauce”. Not as good as fire sauce. Also, good podcast.

Don’t let the title of the podcasts fool you, or even what they are talking about, there are subtle insights here to dominate your fantasy football league.

Hunter doesn’t even hunt or at least never has claimed to have hunted. There’s a surprising lack of political statements which can be misleading with the title of the podcast. A bit too much basamlic and a little overcooked. They once insulted my entire bloodline. Blue tech is never discussed despite being the current meta. They hate green tech. They love green tech way to much it’s definitely not that good. Would recommend

I recently decided to try out a smart phone - my granddaughter has been nagging at me to “get with it”. While I do miss my old flip phone with buttons, this iPhone 14 whoziwatzit is truly a marvel of modern technology (and apparently child labor scrapping for the precious metals needed for such a technological miracle). Well, at any rate, the screen has so many little things on it, I tapped one that is labeled “Podcasts” so up came two young gentlemen have a rather obtuse discussion regarding cats and turtles in space - oh and Phil Collins as well. (I just love him! Su-su-sudio forever! Seems weird to just have a button for nothing but these talky guys. The conversation shifted to algebra, specifically “X-1”. But they never did figure out that problem. Anyhoo - check out this thing - I guess this is what that purple “Podcast” square is for on the phone. I should check if my granddaughter knows about this.

These hosts have reviewed and analyzed a unknown number of movies and have thoroughly spread the fandom of those movies to the corners of the world. They also founded/fostered a very welcoming and inclusive community around these movies. I love the discord, especially #nolan-general, #Memetown-aNewHope, and #dumpsterbin. I love the Star Trek coin dozer

I give Hunter and Matt my Support for the Throne.

Since starting this podcast so many things have improved in my life. I get better sleep, I now can mentally control my bodies metabolism at will, I have learned how to tie my shoe laces backwards, and I even began experiencing time as a construct. Can’t recommend this enough!

Pros: The podcast is often funny and while not always 100% on strategy hit the mark 95% or more. Cons: Listen for any length of time and Hunter and Matt will try to push you to the discord for invitational and/or patreon tournaments In the discord you will find a culture that is sexist and racist. And hosts/moderators who make it clear if you don’t appreciate the way the “rules” are half hearted applied you can leave.

Look at these big boys, my sweet nuggets, doing their little podcast things. Almost 300 episodes! Look at how they did their board game thing! I love these little bubulas.

The number 1 podcast for all things TI, except you should know that, despite what Matt and Hunter say, you actually need to have an infantry on a planet to swap control of it in Alliance Mode.

I started this podcast to get better at TI but I only get to play once a year or so, but the hosts are so fun to listen to that it’s still worth it.

Fun to listen to and mostly not shills.

My favorite motorcycle enthusiasm podcast. I love these itty bitty boys.

I simply listen to this podcast because of Ben Prunty’s music. Putting up with Matt and Hunter for two hours is worth it for the bits of music at the end. Five stars!

An excellent podcast deep diving into the culture and strategy surrounding primarily Twilight Imperium and Leder Games. Though every once in a awhile, like say every 250 episodes, there’s a dash of ecological discussion about their namesake critters.

Truly the greatest podcast of a generation — listen well and become enlightened. My favorite episode is the original Winnu guide: I would put it on before meetings with an incompetent supplier. No matter how poorly things would go with them it would never be as bad as a Winnu round one!

Matt and Hunter have found the perfect balance between providing excellent entertainment and incredibly helpful info/strategy for Twilight Imperium. They were the ones that got me hooked on this astoundingly awesome board game, and has kept me connected to this amazing community even after moving overseas. Whether you are a TI4 veteran or are discovering this game for the first time, check it out!
