Been a fan since the beginning, and almost 10 years later it's still my go to survivor podcast

Phil and Will are my favorites, I watch them all the time on YouTube but this podcast is great for when I’m in my commute.

Oof - three bros talking about survivor and it shows.

I love to tune into the streams after watching Survivor but if I can’t make it this podcast is always waiting.

The bread and butter of this podcast is Survivor, and a phenomenal Survivor podcast at that, but the podcasts dedicated to movies are so refreshing. No other podcast is as nuanced and independent thinkers when it comes to film as the Survivor Specialists.

For the Survivor obsessed, you can't get better! Love u guys!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a year and thoroughly enjoy all their episodes! They were great with Phil and Alexa and now they’re great with Phil and Will. The structure of the podcast makes it really easy to listen to. It’s fun without being overwhelming or over the top. Great insight, interesting takes, and relatable reactions.

Phenomenal. Phil and Alexa were great, and Phil and Will are just as amazing! I used to listen to RHAP, but then I found this podcast a few years ago. They are insightful, honest, and do it all for the COMMUNITY. A lot of the big survivor podcasts are very corporate nowadays… they will say every season is good, every episode is great, and the casting is always perfect. This podcast is honest and usually lines up with what the community actually believes—not what the powers at be want podcasts to say. I love this podcast and it has meant a lot to me over the years. Thanks for all that you do.

Having Bret on your podcast was the worst decision! He’s so out of touch with life and honestly I can not stand him or his opinions. Worst episode I’ve ever listened too. Didn’t even finish it.

I hadn’t listened in some time and recently gave their podcast another chance. Somehow the audio seems worse even though they’ve been podcasting for years. Might be time to invest in a better audio set up.

This season of podcast coverage has been extremely good and the best. It is so nice having you both together regularly and the guests are great. The power rankings are the best survivor podcast of the week and the recaps are so much better and focused than what else is out there. You guys put out a perfect amount of content that isn’t repetitive and leaves the listener excited for more.

I enjoy the content but Alexa’s voice is way too quiet compared to Phil’s. The audio levels need to be matched before publishing. I turn up the volume to hear her then Phil talking hurts my ears

Stumbled across this while sampling survivor podcasts and I’m so glad I did. I really love how P&A approach talking about the game. Thoroughly enjoying the episodes. Thanks for the great entertainment! :)

I feel like Phil and Alexa think we hate when they complain but really it’s SO VALIDATING to hear this all analyzed! Keep being honest :)

Each episode is exactly the same. They only have like 2 or 3 talking points and just keep repeating them every episode. (“He’s So meta, they’re playing very meta, everyone is meta now”) And it’s the premier of Season 41 recap episode and Alexa didn’t even watch the episode with sound? She spent the whole show asking Phil what happened. Why even bother releasing the recap. I get she was at some watch party, but just wait a day and release the recap after she actually watched the episode and knows what happened. Does Phil have to be so egotistical? It’s hard to listen to, he knows everything all the time, and he’s always right about everything.

I love Alexa, but Phil’s constant complaining and grandstanding makes it tough to get through... if Phil doesn’t like a popular player that’s all you’ll hear about for half the podcast, it’s very annoying

Phil seems like a decent guy. But this podcast stinks. Phil has a personality and/or style of speaking that constantly leads to sermons and he is not at all factually correct. No one ever disagrees or calls him out. You could tell that dude John on the Challenge podcasts 2+2=5 and he’d say something like “That’s a great point. I hadn’t considered that.” He’s softer than a labradoodle after a bath. Unlistenable.

Listening to the winners throughout the seasons and they just spoiled season 40 talking about an entirely different season. I love this podcast and it’s one of my favorites but it’s a bummer getting multiple newer seasons ruined when you’re listening about older seasons :/ otherwise this is one of my favorite survivor podcasts!

BIG Survivor Specialist fan! I’ve been listening to Phil and Alexa since preseason 39 and have been a devoted listener ever since. They put out great content and have a great rapport with each other. Their analysis for people who haven’t played the game is always nice to hear since most Survivor podcasts are hosted by past players. Becoming a patron of the Specialists was a great decision and the community is so great! Thank you Phil and Alexa!

Best podcast ever!!! Please continuing rewatching old seasons. Loving the China recaps!!!

There are roughly one million Survivor podcasts swirling around out there, and I do believe this is one of the best. Their episodes and commentary are a the most focused and accessible, in a world where Survivor commentary is often hours and hours long / often somewhat rambling. THAT SAID, having just listened to the most recent installment of the Top 100 Survivor Players, I have to talk about Phil for a sec... First of all, I like both Phil and Alexa, and I think they are great podcasters! But I've been struggling with the Top 100 discussions, which really came to a head listening to Phil rant about Sarah Lacina's ranking. I understand that all Survivor commentary is based on people's personal opinions, and that there is no definitive or objective ranking of players. Period. I just have a hard time wth the double standard being set, if it is presented to me as logical and straightforward, based on gameplay and not edit, character, influence, etc. Like, just admit the bias and then you don't have to rant to explain your position. If you are going to pay dust to some of the most influential and objectively (in terms of placement) best women in game, which is demonstrably weighted to favor men for the last several years, just admit that you relate more to male players and their story arcs. We don't need to hear a rant about why Lacina isn't that good because of her bad first game, especially when you follow it up by dismissing Tyson's numerous bad showings and justifying his high ranking with his one good game. AGAIN, it's just the lack of awareness of the double standard in the critiques that is frustrating. Listen to Phil discuss the Natalies, or Wentworth, for example. I don't mean to rag on Phil, who I like and I find fun to listen to... I'm just want to mention it because it's something that's prevalent in the community and it's important to acknowledge. I don't have a problem with him having his own faves and opinions (aka I'm also a Michelle stan), but I don't believe that the world needs another rant about why Lacina is overrated.... I've heard it countless times on Reddit. Same with Natalie Anderson, Sandra, Parv, and countless other amazing women players / characters. So yeah okay, in isolation I don't think the rant was so bad, and I'm taking Phil to task for something that is more contextual than specific. But we all have platforms for our takes and this is mine! All that said it's a four star review, it's a great podcast, give it a listen!

Phil and Alexa get it! Cannot stop listening to this podcast. Great content and great takes in survivor! Also, I enjoy the bashing of edge of extinction. Every player to ever play hates it (except for one who won that game) and I love listening to them bash it, I agree with most of their survivor takes!

New listener. Only reviewing bc it seems like some of you fools are rating this show 1 star based on some opinions of the hosts (edge of extinction). These folks are giving away content, low ratings can negatively effect a podcast. “Edge of Extinction is part of the game if you don’t like it than stop watching” pls apply this logic to podcasts too.

SO. FREAKING. AMAZING. These two hosts breakdown the episode so well. As an avid fan of Survivor this podcast is the real deal. I love listening to these the day after survivor because it kind of makes everything click for me and I really enjoy tuning in, I also really like the concept of power rankings.

Edge of extinction is part of the game, if you don’t like it, then stop watching. Hearing Phil whine about it every week has ruined this podcast for me. Also, the fanboy crush on Michelle Fitzgerald is so played out, either ask her out or move on. You guys used to be one of the best because of your insight and analysis. Now you just sound like whiny kids who don’t like their new toy. Also, Alexa should talk more and Phil less. Otherwise, Phil should start his own solo deal and Alexa and Intern/Robert could be the Specialists. Get back to your roots guys!

It’s time to accept that edge of extinction its a freaking part of the game! That scene was llng but important to many people. Stop too much extinction its part of the game! By now should be clear!

Great podcast but Lex ruined the most recent episode for me. He is SO butthurt that he’s never one and still mad at Rob 15 years later. Please don’t have him on again.

Was I supposed to know that this podcast included spoilers for season 40!?!? There was no warning. Very annoying. Robhasapodcast was the first to start podcasting about survivor and paved the way for all these other survivor podcast wannabes. And at the very least he does NOT include spoilers.

Some people be trippin’ and should use a book on sarcasm to cushion their inevitable fall from their high horses. Phil & Alexa are both great, bringing both well balanced humor and seriousness to their discussions. Love this podcast!

Pro’s: -the passion of the hosts -tell all’s provide great in-depth insight from cast -interesting break downs with different perspectives -usually an interesting listen that helps clear up episodes -fun hearing from past contestants -overtime the podcast is getting better Con’s: -audio difficulties at times -moments of elitist attitude (name dropping, not open to criticism, close minded, unwarranted aggression, humble brags, self congratulatory) -if this criticism is read (which I doubt), I feel like the reaction would be “get a life” -would prefer if they took themselves less seriously -overemphasis on prediction (in recap eps not in the prediction episodes) -would prefer more analysis on gameplay and less of trying to figure out the edit at least in the recap episodes. -that time Phil compared bad (joke?) remarks a contestant made about all red heads to the unwanted outing of a trans contestant/ or if that person made that comment on something like race. The selective anger feels hypocritical and I’d encourage the hosts to either be critical of other portrayals on the show or steer clear from this type of conversation. -weird prodding of guests if they don’t outdo the time length of other guests Conclusion: -For me, these personalities aren’t a great fit, but I think most fans of survivor will be able to enjoy a mostly decent and passionate listen.

Great podcast - the banter between Phil and Alexa is amazing. As an avid survivor fan I’ve listened to basically all that’s out there and this is by far the best one.

I listened to this podcast for a couple seasons and I like their insights, but I stopped because Phil is coming off a little angry lately, and I prefer a more chill vibe.
