    Thank you!
This podcast has helped me immensely, especially as I am navigating an unexpected and unwanted divorce. I would actually love an episode on divorce and divorce recovery šŸ™šŸ¼ Thank you for all you do!

    Loved the 90/10 rule podcast
Thanks for making the complex simple and actionable. Was really thought-provoking and helpful since I have been stuck lately. Now I know what I need to do to move forward, especially in the area of meaningful work. I also really appreciate the summaries at the end of your podcasts - very helpful!

    A Guide to Personal Growth
What an incredible episode. Thoroughly enjoyed it, felt understood and learned so much. Beyond thankful for everything you have presented over the last six years. I canā€™t help but to share every single episode with friends and family all in hopes to inspire them like I have been inspired. Thank you for all that you do. Would love an in-person event!

    Really phenomenal
I am so glad I stumbled onto this show a year or so ago. Rick and Forrest both have so much great knowledge to share. On top of that you can just tell that they genuinely care about people and the work they are doing. I have seen some criticism of Forrest since he doesnā€™t have the credentials his Dad does. Normally I would feel the same, but I have learned a ton from both him and Rick. Forrest clearly cares and is informed about what heā€™s speaking about. This isnā€™t another no substance self help podcast from people who havenā€™t a clue. These guys are the real deal and I learn something every single time I listen. I also wanted to note that they have calming, friendly voices. This may seem trivial, but if you are someone with trauma who is listening to learn about sometimes tough subjects, a friendly and calm voice is so welcome. They donā€™t try to be funny or cool, they just seem to be themselves and we are so lucky they decide to share that with us. Thanks Rick and Forrest, you both continue to add to my life in a positive way.

Thought provoking, kindness promoting, passing around the GOOD
Please keep up the interesting and amazing work! Also, just finished the ā€œeverything Iā€™ve learned (so far)ā€¦ā€ episode and loved it so much hereā€™s the text I added when I shared it with my parents (74 & 76 years old and still reaching for realization): ā€œI just finished this episode, and thought you guys would also appreciate it. Not only is it stuffed full of great and enlightening information, but it also celebrates the part of each of us that has been pushing for self-realization these last few years. I hope you find time to enjoy this episode in its entirety ā¤ļøā¤ļøā€

    Letting Go- information packed
I have listened to this episode twice and found it to be very helpful and challenging at the same time. This topic is one I have been struggling with and you presented it in a way that was meaningful and had great strategies to apply. Thanks for all you do to bring this content to the world.

    Very illuminating!
I found a lot of insight in the conversation about emotionally pursuing- avoiding relationships. Much new fodder for self-awareness. Thank you.

    Great Pod
I very much enjoy listening to this podcast. Very vulnerable and insightful conversations. Sometimes the psych jargon and acronymā€™s disrupt the flow. That said, this is still one of my very favorite pods to tune in to.

    Compassionate, honest and very helpful
I enjoy the father-son dynamic, and always appreciate Dr Rickā€™s compassionate expertise. The conversations go deep while being filled with practical mental health insights for anyone on a healing journey.

    Good with the bad
I listen to this pod for the wonderfully insightful Rick Hanson. Unfortunately his son Forrest who hosts this podcast gives bad advice too often. Also not sure how heā€™s qualified or where heā€™s getting his info from since heā€™s not licensed or a therapist, just a podcaster/ ā€œcoachā€ and son of Rick Hanson. On the plus side he does ask good questions. Heā€™s just not good at giving advice.

    Love this podcast
Iā€™m constantly checking for new episodes because their content is so good. They have a good choice of guests and I really like how well the father and son work so well together.

    Question
This more a question, I listened to an episode of your podcast a while back that talked about having a mental disorder and does like taking medication for it mean you donā€™t have faith in your God, I think this was the correct podcast, I was wondering if you could tell me which episode that was because I canā€™t find it again to send it to a friend. Thank you. Awesome podcast btw

    Appointment Listening
I look forward to playing new episodes Being Well every Monday. Rick and Forrestā€™s conversations are informative and thoughtful. The father-son duo have a gentle playfulness with each other that is lovely to hear. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their mental health or supplement therapy sessions.

    My favorite podcast
I have to say listening to this podcast over the past year or so has helped me so much to ā€œelevate my personal psychologyā€. Itā€™s improved my life and put me on a track of more peace and positivity.

This was one of the best and most useful podcasts Iā€™ve ever heard. I learned so much about myself and have a better appreciation for why I behave as I do at times, but also tools to change the behaviors that donā€™t serve me and can harm others, especially those I love most. Thank you, Rick and Forest!

    Huge help
Cant thank you enough Forrest, Rick and Friends. As someone that struggles with anxiety on a daily basis, there are times that are really really hard and I cant just call a friend or stop working to get through it. But this podcast helps. Every. Single. Time. It takes my focus off of what Iā€™m anxious about and allows me to think about what the causes might be or maybe just mitigates stressful thinking for a few hours. This podcast is currently getting me through more than I could put in this review and I really do recommend it to all the anxious birds in my flock. Thank you so muchā€”keep it up!

Being Well is a great resource!
Thanks for all the insightful interviews and I appreciate witnessing the positive dynamic between father and son. Great episodes with depth and research and experience regarding psychotherapy and other health topics.

    Stellar Content!
Iā€™m a therapist and this is one of my favorite podcasts. So much useful content! Very practical tools that live within helpful context. PS to Forrest and Rick: please consider dropping your sponsorship from BetterHelp. I just listened to the episode with Elizabeth. Loving her and respecting her professionally and promoting BetterHelp, which is so destructive to the industry, is incongruous.

    Enriching Podcast
Iā€™ve been a longtime listener to Being Well and it has been a steady presence in my life since I discovered it. It has helped me to deepen into my work as a new therapist and given me tools to manage my own anxiety and pain. It also has inspired me to slow down and think critically rather than just react. Forest-you do an excellent recap at the end which serves to reinforce my learning. Rick-your balanced approach makes me feel safe. Sometimes I even take notes! Thank you to the two of you for bringing your relationship and your knowledge to us listeners. This podcast is a solid antidote to the quick fix culture we live in.

One of the best podcasts around
Lots of layers of greatness in this podcast. The father son relationship with so much respect, love and thoughtfulness for each other, the chosen topics, the hosts interview skills and great conversation.

Best podcast in the self-help genre, period.
I give this podcast unlimited stars āļø Forrest & Rick are knowledgeable, experienced & the best part FUN! The humor they sprinkle in keeps the deep subjects from becoming too seriously heavy. They also offer very practical advice with actions one can take, in other words, they donā€™t leave ya hanginā€™ with ā€˜to find out more buy ourā€¦.ā€™ as other podcasts do. The guests they have on also offer actionable advice, I give props to Forrest for his interviewing skills, again not just going to leave ya hanginā€™ with nothing to grab on to. The amount of research Forrest does for each episode is second to none! I will also comment on the audio quality which is the best on any podcast, incredibly high quality. Rick & Forrest have a special chemistry that is soothing, thereā€™s just a special flare about this podcast that no other podcast of this type has. The light-heartedness, the depth, the care, the passion sparkles šŸ’– Give this podcast a whirl! Thank yā€™all & much love, Susie-Joy

Not just insightful, but genuinely helpful
Long time listener, first podcast review ever. Listening to a recent episode was so helpful in identifying issues Iā€™ve long been suffering with. It helped me realize (and explain to my therapist) how I had been massively downplaying the amount I was suffering because I thought it was normal. Itā€™s really helped me make a lot of connections, identify triggers and treatment. I shared the episode with a number of folks close in my life to help understand a little of whatā€™s going on in my head. Canā€™t recommend this enough, thank you both Forrest and Rick!

Exceptional father son banter with depth and compassion
Iā€™ve been listening to this podcast for the last two years and Just love the beautiful relationship exchange between father and son. They exude extraordinary emotional maturity, and broad compassion for humanity. Forrest releases a podcast EVERY Monday that is incredibly comprehensive, and well-researched. There is no denying the due diligence this man puts into evey episode. He and his dad Rick Hanson, are the real deal; caring souls with giant hearts, working hard to show us a better path in relationships, personal growth, and so many life lessons on how to shed the skins we no longer need.

    Better than Dental Work
I recently had to have some dental work done and, dreading it, decided to bring my AirPods. Did I choose ambient music? An engrossing audiobook? I chose Being Wellā€” for even though I could barely follow the topic over the drilling, I find the warmth and enthusiasm between these two soothing, affirming, and inspiring, no matter the content. This is not to overemphasize the delivery; I have gained great wisdom from their well-researched and conducted interviews. Thanks, Rick and Forrest: Iā€™m fully taking in the good here.

    Helpful and interesting
Hosts are able to explain and clarify many ideas and tools that are useful. I enjoy he interaction between the father and son and their excellent guests. I love that they donā€™t put themselves above the human condition, they are relatable as well as being incredibly smart about the stuff we all go through. Thank you!

    Education is an asset
Mr. Hanson has a bachelors but talks as if he is an expert in psychoanalysis, psychology, and interpersonal relationships. I listened to 3 of his podcastsā€” pretty much a waste of my time. If you find Rick Hansonā€™s talks thought provoking he has weekly talks . Listen to them.

    Insights and compassion
We love these podcasts. The dynamic between Dr. Rick and Forrest is easy and delightful and each offers unique perspectives that the other welcomes. The topics help us develop skills to be more mindful, compassionate and self-aware. Personally, Iā€™m very grateful for these two experts sharing their knowledge. Their guests are always so insightful and the conversations engaging, relevant and applicable to help me in my relationships and experiences. I do believe theyā€™re cultivating kindness and I am a better person for listening. This podcast renews my love of podcasts and social media!

Brilliant. One of the best if not the best psychology podcast
I select episodes I want to listen to and always take away so much of value. But the podcast on fawning was beyond excellent. I was constantly writing down what was being said to make sure I can go back and take away what I learned. Thank you so much
  • chollylolly
    Long-time listener, first-time reviewer
Been listening for years, but had to leave feedback about this week's episode about being too self-aware. I'm caught in that space right now and experience the effects of it on a daily basis. The role-playing done in this episode was incredibly helpful and showed how change is incremental. I learned to be more patient with and understanding of my self-critical parts in order to tone down their volume and leave more space for my parts that were hurt and largely repressed, but are parts of me I want to explore and let other people get to know. Love the strong relationship between father and son that we're privileged to hear from every week! Thanks for your great work!

    Love this Show, So Grateful!!!ā™„ļøā™„ļø
One of my favorite Pocasts for the Forrest-Rick interaction and just to listen to Rick Hanson speak. I just listened to Forrestā€™s conversation with Dr. Jacob Ham and pretty much bawled through the whole episode. So much depth and nuance here. I was frantically trying to take notes Top-Down. I would be a person to Call In, if Q&A, lol. How brilliant and courageous Dr. Jacob Ham is!!! To go the places with his patients so many others are afraid to go in a Systematic, Artistic, trialed, and proven way. Loved the linkage of Science and Art!!! Furthermore, he conveyed a complex, unaddressed topic in such an accessible way while displaying patience and Complete Compassion. How is that possible??? I am learning the types of Trauma he is describing are the types that affect not only one person, but can destroy a whole generation in a family and echo down or up the Family Tree. It makes me want to ask, if Trauma were better addressed by the Psychological Establishment, just how many lives could be saved or improved? Again, so Grateful for this show and Dr. Jacob Ham!!!ā™„ļøā™„ļø

    Great information
I always find some useful tip to incorporate into my lifestyle which I truly appreciate. Complicated subjects are broken down into easy to understand concepts that are easy to apply to everyday life. I always feel better when listening to this father and son team. Great job guys, please keep it up!

Really helped me when I was struggling
Woke up feeling stressed as usual but my mom had sent it to me the day before and it completely turned my day around and helped me reframe my mindset and feel like things are better, more positive and realistic about how to approach things. Plus itā€™s a boy and his dad <3

    Compassionate and Direct
Kind, realistic, and caring teachings of compassion and understanding for self and others. The father and son team show generational respect for each other and towards others that I wish we all would emulate. My family never did get there, but in flying solo, I benefit from experiencing theirs. The way they cover a topic always leaves me on a hopeful note. I don't always have time to keep up with the episodes but Great choices of guests most of the time - rarely do I skip through the whole episode.

    Dr. Rick yes Forrest no
Rick is an absolute jewel. Forrest not so much. Quintessential millennial who passes himself off as an expert when he has no academic or clinical experience or credentials and little life experience. He should just act as host/interviewer and let his father and other expert guests discuss content. Sadly riding on his famous fatherā€™s coattails.

This podcast has helped me so much
I first found this podcast via YouTube then subscribed to the podcast so I can listen on my daily jogs. The way Forrest and Rick (and guests!) so clearly dive in, explore and explain have helped me tremendously in my healing journey. Always love the wrap up/summary at the end of the episodes. Thank you for what you do!

You will learn so much and become a better human!
So grateful for Forrest and Dr. Rickā€™s heartfelt and generous discussions. They present deep ideas about life, love, relationships, and psychology from a place of personal (and professional) experience and offer amazingly useful and applicable tools. I can not count the times I have stopped what I am doing to rewind an episode, take out a notebook, and take notes! Also the love and dedication they bring to this show is evident! Thank you for offering up such meaningful conversations! They have been very enriching! Thank you for doing the Fawn episode! That was like a lifetime of therapy in one hour!

    Superior Practical Awesome
As someone who has spent many hours in therapy, reads countless books from all the big names on healing, and listens to several top rated podcasts about psychology and the mind, I can tell you unequivocally that Being Well is top notch. It is unlike any other podcast, not just because Rick and Forrest Hanson are father and son, but because of the knowledgeable, respectful and succinct way in which they speak to one another and to their guests. They are genuine, honest and very self aware. How they share personal experiences is deeply appreciated, because they are both incredibly open about their lives and experiences as it relates to the topic. I am so grateful that I found this podcast and highly recommend it to all who are on their journey to a better, happier and more peaceful life. Thank you Dr. Rick Hanson and Forrest Hanson. Five well earned stars!

    Insightful and helpful
I really enjoy listening to Rick and Forrest. Theyā€™re easy to listen to and to understand, as well as provide practical and actionable advice. I also routinely have various breakthroughs. Like the episode on self abandonment was really moving for me. I usually listen to the car, and had to pull over because I was sobbing after repeating some phrases Rick recommended to recite. It helps me identify some of those thoughts, behaviors, and memories that may be holding me back or making me unwell. Since listening Iā€™ve noticed positive changes in my habits and thoughts towards life and myself. Iā€™m grateful for the work that you guys do and look forward to the next episode!

    Helpful therapy resource
I absolutely adore these two! Forrest and Rick are such gems! I look forward every week to the new episode and am pleasantly surprised as to how they almost always relate to my life in some way. This is an incredible resource for anyone who doesnā€™t know where to start with mental health or in the realm of therapy. Itā€™s an amazing resource that is free! They are a wealth of knowledge and I will keep coming back week after week! Also the banter between the two of them melts my heart at times! I love this podcast so much, thanks Rick & Forrest!!

    A great podcast
This took me a little while to appreciate and now I look forward to episodes. Thereā€™s something comforting to Forest and I appreciate how he breaks down complicated issues with the expertise of his dad, Rick Hanson. While, I knew of Rickā€™s work which drew me to listening, itā€™s Forest and the many helpful topics that keeps me returning. Thank you for the work you do itā€™s very helpful.
