maybenexttime1Stale curmudgeonsUsed to anticipate the show weekly but this past year has completely fallen off. Apart from the very obvious PCMR long sections are just unlistenable. Feels forced at this point. Scott prides himself on not succumbing to FOMO yet votes for a game that’s he’s never played for the game awards is a prime example. Hope they figure it out

SomeDude6547Great show with one problemThis is a weekly listen for me, with plenty of great topics and information. The hosts are entertaining and funny, and usually provide good insight into the games they play. However, Beau needs to turn down his mic gain or something, because every time I listen to him inhale it sounds like he has half a jar of mayonnaise lodged in his throat, it is so gross to listen to.
-
SL_CTBeau repeats himself and gets on his high horseLong time listener, but when Beau gets on a subject he repeats himself and interrupts the other hosts. It’s annoying. Just make the point and move on or let the hosts respond.

yesionHosts get a bit snobby.Been listening to Scott’s work since early Instance episodes, but lately it seems to me there is a lot of games that, if you’d like to hear their opinion of, you’re more than likely to hear why they didn’t play it. Game can be !too popular! or has some controversy around it you will be treated to 30 minutes of explanation why they will not play it. Scott will quite often rediscover the same game 2 years later, forgetting that he has a show playing retro…

Lannistark741Best gaming show everThat’s really all I have to say about it. Listen to CORE!
-
SciphonBest aroundThis has been my standard weekly listen for some time now. Hands down the best hosts around with the most in depth discussions on the topics at hand.
-
LuckytugsDear BoJust finished listening to everyone’s Unity opinion and I’ve gotta say, understand that not every business is big corpo. I’m surprised it was the accountants that were upset with you and not small business owners. Throwing 3 stars cause I think the show is great; my only critique is that political opinion should stay off a game show. I think it’s the biggest flaw of this show. Anyways, looking forward to the BG3 spoilercast!

Terrorskull (The Original)Better than a lake runGreat show and great hosts. A weekly must listen for anyone interested in video games and the happenings around them who also enjoy some entertaining conversations.
-
FeelsMidSmack smackI’ve followed Scott and Frogpants for over a decade and this point and I love this show…… except, at the end of nearly episode Beau starts eating at the end of the show and unfortunately for me I can’t listen to him talk with food in his mouth. Love the sho tho.
-
Sean T GallagherHow could you not love core?Between his loveable dad humor and his amazing voice, Scott is the perfect person to hear talking about your favorite video games. His cohosts Jon and Beau are also fantastic as they are very knowledgeable and are able to talk in an enthusiastic way. This show is perfect if you want to listen to a great group of guys talk about gaming in a more humorous way, rather than the more dry approach of simply reading you the news. Fantastic listen and keep up the amazing show.

IwillbeyourhuckleberryGamer ElitismI used to love love love love Core but I feel like lately it’s gotten to be where there is a lot of gamer elitism being spewed on the show. I feel Scott and beau look down on people who like to play shooters or anything that isn’t Indy or “ chore core” . This is starting to echo throughout all their shows and it’s sad cause Frogpants used to be a place for everyone to come and feel welcomed but now it feels like if you don’t play these certain games or believe this certain way then you’re not welcomed
-
IzaakgoddardOne small problem but amazing overallI love this podcast but very rarely politics, or people from real life come up and the hosts give their personal views which they are welcome to do but I usually have a different view than them so I get really annoyed when they make fun of the other side that I’m on. Specifically reguarding Jordan Peterson. I really respect the man and when making fun of that guy it’s just annoying to listen to. Fantastic otherwise

MattiusthegreatNot recommendedOne of the few Frogpants Network shows I am not a fan of. Core is a shell of a show that was originally about Heroes of The Storm (hence the name Core), that has now become a show about “core gaming”… I understand that HotS is down for the count, but this show could use a reboot and a name change. Look elsewhere for your “core” gaming podcast.

The Model CitizenA beautiful symphony, or adjacent.I’m new to podcasts, but is there anything worth it after finding these guys? Literally they have everything, comedy, information, and just general awesome back and forth convos. I also seem to find their game recommendations spot on, except vampire survivors, how dare you lol. Anywho, love the show, can’t wait to start supporting, please keep up the good work.

Sack my potatoesLove all you Guys do…mostlyI say this with all the love in the world of someone who has been with you guys since day one, and is a huge lover all the entire frog pants network, please…for the love of god…stop using retro music for audio transitions to different segments. You guys have one of the most cutting edge and relevant video game podcast out there, and every time I hear those retro transitions it makes my stomach churn, it does and injustice to the quality of your show. You have a retro gaming show, leave it there. Also the Jamie mashups suck…like hard. They aren’t funny, I fast forward through them, they are the worst parts of the show. Don’t feel bad telling him your ditching it. It wasn’t funny on the morning stream and it’s not funny on Core. It just reeks of someone with too much time on their hands. Not funny or entertaining at all, I’m sure if you did a poll the majority of your listeners would vote to remove it. Also, learn to let a good joke/bit die, it’s not funny the 100th time it’s brought up (dragon beef for example). You’re some of the most creative people putting out material, learn to let certain things end.

Mister RpedersoThis is a tough listen. They can't speak english or do simple math. You see the failing of our education systems in the US and Canada. Try to listen as Scott, Jon, and Beau say things like "Me and her was goin' to the store" and "Beau and me was playin' Elder Scrolls." They sound like their educations stopped in the 5th grade, in Mississippi. If you enjoyed the dialogue between Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer you will love this podcast. If you enjoyed the Joad family in Grapes of Wrath you will love this podcast. As Beau said in the last Core episode, minute 2:30,:00, "The apple doesn't fall from the tree." Good one Beau!

BubbleGumGamingBitter BoomersI was a huge fan from The Instance days. Scott has the perfect voice for podcasts and you could tell he was engaging with a topic that genuinely fascinated him at the peak of World Of Warcraft’s popularity. It was a magical time. Over time, it seemed that Scott’s interest in the game had waned but he was still playing the game to farm content for his WoW podcast that was still widely popular. (It was absurd the number of times he forgot the names of major places and characters from the game). But the Blizzard lawsuit provided the perfect excuse to move on and hopefully transfer his audience to another project. Core will likely never reach anywhere close to the significance of The Instance but Scott will probably continue to podcast indefinitely out of habit. Now that he has nothing else to lose he has completely lost his filter and regularly goes on weird political tangents. Most of his gaming commentary seems forced, and if it wasn’t for Core he would probably be content living out his days playing Elder Scrolls Online and a handful of indie games.

LiquidladyThank you!So happy I found this podcast! Love the fact that you guys talk about all video games, not just console specific video games. Love the banter, knowledge and difference of opinions between Scott, Jon & Beau. Scott, I “used” the Dildo club as my favorite nob-lethal melee weapon in Cyberpunk 2077…laughed so hard every time I used it.

TheBlockMageFun but FlawedScott Johnson is a generally warm personality with a great voice for podcasts. The Instance World of Warcraft podcast was his claim to fame. He seems to genuinely enjoy what he does and he will probably continue podcasting forever in some capacity. He’s undoubtedly made connections in the industry over the years and for that reason he tends to take the side of developers over players more often than not. He also tends to awkwardly shoehorn his politic beliefs into unrelated conversations a little too frequently which might be a turnoff if you don’t share his political party. Other than that it’s generally good video game banter but for the above reasons I tend to bounce off for months at a time.

Tojr549Long Time ListenerListened to the instance, followed them to Core/HotS, and have been hooked since. After HotS died they transitioned smoothly to just gaming in general. I have bought games just based on their talks, and found new genres that I enjoy because of them. The three are all goofballs in their own way and sometimes go off topic but their format keeps the conversation authentic and casual. 100% recommend.
-
Sad Listener since ep. 2Great and Bad and easy 3 stars! When Jon and Scott are doing their thing it’s sublime, you just need to tolerate Beau’s really problematic views and rampant toxicity to get to the great parts. Sometimes he’s not on so really hit or miss but def worth it!
-
past instance listenerBoringThe show used to be good and now it’s just some podcasting has-beens pining for the good old days.
-
SchwartzandoHuge RespectI have nothing but respect for Scott Johnson. I used to listen to the Instance religiously as a teen, it got me into WoW, but I fell off as I grew tired of the game. I checked back in after the Blizzard Activision sexual harassment lawsuit came to light, and Scott’s candor and genuine fury reminded me why I liked listening to him in the first place. I’m here to follow Core because I want to support Scott in whatever way I can, and because I’ve sincerely missed hearing from him.
-
cassetto_macBest gaming show out thereLiterally one of the best gaming podcasts out there. The hosts chemistry is amazing. It’s just SO FUN. And it made me discover a lot of hidden gems.
-
TiredtreyofthisbullLove the showMaaaan, I love the show and I’m a fairly new listener for about 6 months. I don’t know if you guys know this but you CAN download games from PlayStation Now (not just steam them), I know the library isn’t as large as Gamepass but I keep hearing you say that’s why you don’t think it’s a competitor and that’s not the case! P.S. love dear Martha
-
Dry IcezzzIts a vibeThe show is video game conversation with your friends in the best way possible. I love the personalities of each of the hosts and it’s led me to many other things under the frog pants network and other areas. I take a ton of game recommendations from the show and I haven’t been disappointed, I feel like I know what I’m getting into and I laugh a lot so I can’t say enough things about CORE and I can’t recommend it any higher.

CORE BEEFCORE REVIEWBOOBA!!!
-
Mammon1836392Love itChronoTango, that is a problem with Apple podcasts, not the show. Don’t put it down for something it doesn’t have control of. Anyway, love the show, keep up the great work!
-
tehrainmanPush the core! This is my primary weekly podcast, I never miss an episode. Love the personalities and all the hot takes and tips on games. The 2 things I realllllly miss though are the old core intro tunes and dear Martha. I used to put the intro tunes on repeat 4 or 5 times in a row each week just to get the hype!
-
ChronoTangoWhere are the early episodes?I’d love to start this podcast and listen to your commentary, but if I can’t start from the beginning I’m not bothering to start it at all.
-
Pureblue8Great. Podcast when they talk about games.Want a podcast hosted by 3 woolens who know nothing about politics l, but will spend 1/3 of the episode talking about radical left politicians who are fighting for open borders sanctuary cities and taking away guns? Then this podcast is for you. People who prop up the left and put down the right with no knowledge of politics but will slam it down your throat. If you are also a main stream media shill who takes msm as fact then you will probably like this country ruining circle jerk too.
-
Fruitful ListenerSome days are good others it’s leaning off the rails! Some days you guys go in depth and nuanced with games and I like the commentary. Other times it turns into a poo-poo fest that just makes me switch off. I can safely say it doesn’t happen too often have me unsubscribe but it makes me ponder sometimes....
-
Samson343I love the guysI look forward to the show every week. It gets better and better every listen
-
redraygonGreat pod cast🐖💨 🤢 🤮
-
angry at addsGreat show, strange intro musicI love the show but am confused by the intro music. It sounds like placeholder music that never got updated. It’s time for an update. Keep up the good work.
-
ChrisbacheenRip hotsKeep on going strong though. A regular vg podcast is fine too.
-
Keeper of SinVariety is great!!!HoTS was fading and so was my interest. I'm really excited to hear you guys discuss new games and just a variety of things in general. Scott, I'll be waiting for the Rebel Galaxy Outlaw episode. 😁

-
Stinger1355Great ShowIf you like hots check these guys out. Super funny guys with a lot of entertaining dialogue and knowledge about the game. Three thumbs up
-
SiilverboltHands down, one of my favorite showsIt speaks volumes when someone that doesn't play the game your podcast is about, listens regularly to your podcast. I've been a long time follower of the Instance and Azeroth Roundtable podcasts so to get more of Scott Johnson and Jon Jagger is an absolute treat! Beau Schwartz is just the icing on the cake! The three of them have just an amazing dynamic, the discussions are engaging, and the entertainment value is through the roof. I've had drink spit-takes because of some of the stuff that's gone down on this show. Favorite things: Dear Martha (The Stukov Dear Martha is my favorite, need a clip collection of them please! Patreon???) "Excuse me, I have to go feed the hood" Nextepardy and Kyle (put him in the darn Horadric Cube already!) The opening themes, awesome work Beau!
-
Stimed SheepGreat HotS podcastThe crew at Core does a great job each week presenting their take on Heroes of the Storm. Always look forward to the show and they have moved up my list. I have 4 at the top which I listen to for different reasons and they bring a comedy and intelligence to HotS that I enjoy listening to. Thank you Scott, John and Beau.

Tj84726283847Great, funny, informative showThe cast running the show have a lot of good knowledge about the game. They are also hilarious. If you want to keep up to date with Heroes of the Storm and have a fun time while listening give them a try.
-
powrtrioDear MarthaGood podcast.

A Sometimes Violent PeaceHeroes PodcastOf all the HOTS podcasts I've listened to this is the best one. I think that it is a decent podcast although it really needs show notes. I'm not interested much in the professional Play talk or recaps and there is no way to know what is covered in the show. Otherwise a pretty good podcast.
