    Great episode with Dr. Baugh
A lot of new insights for church leadership about working from ego, neuroscience and leading from the heart. Great production!

    That’s all?
“That’s all the church is-a social movement.” Pragmatic religion podcast. Goodbye.

Content is “so good” once the music stops
Good info on leadership, but the podcast is made worse by two annoying things: first, the intro/outro music. Second, Todd (I think—either Todd or Chandler) using the default response of “so good” to whatever the guest just said. I wish I had a bell to ring for every time I hear “so good” on this podcast.

    Jenaye White
Adding Jenaye White just took this podcast to a new level. It needed a significant change up. I hope she stays as cohost. Update: where is Jenaye at? Bring her back. Also, the music is much too long. The intro is still running 2 minutes in and it’s distracting.

    Chill with the Music
This podcast sometimes knocks it out of the park. But one critique that has stood out to me from the beginning is the length of the intro music. It’s distractingly long. I was listening to Todd interview David Platt and 2 minutes into the interview they’re discussing his new book but the music is still playing. Please do a better job of introducing the podcast quicker and get into the interview and cut the music. I’m sure some tech or producer loves the long music but sometimes as a listener I want to skip a good episode just because I don’t want to sit through the music.

Thought Provoking and Enjoyable: A Winner!
I have been listening to the New Churchs Q&A podcast as well as the EST The Established Church podcast to improve my leadership skills and to stimulate my leadership thinking. These podcasts led me to this podcast here and I declare it another winner in the Lifeway Podcast Network. Some of the reviewers complain about the joking, but I like the joking. Though these guys act sillier than I do, the joking makes the podcast a joy to listen to and it demonstrates that God believers can exemplify a life of fun. Sometimes these guys get too idealistic and sometimes they say stuff like "A leader is responsible for everything that happens in their organization." While the idea of taking as much responsibility as possible makes leaders great, we have to remember what one pastor said, "If God ordains it, man can't stop it." So no, we are not responsible for everything. That's just a minor drawback, because this podcast serves its purpose well and it gets me thinking, so I'm giving the podcast 5 stars. The production is of highest quality, and I look forward to learning more from this podcast. Keep it up! Another winner from the Lifeway Podcast Network.

    5LQ Used to Be Good
Ive gotten a lot of value from the 5LQ podcast until recently. It seems that most of the podcasts this year are with the same usual guests. And the distractions and joking around has gotten carried away. Sorry me goofing is great; but it seems that every comment, question, and subject gets a joke, and it is distracting and devaluing the podcast. Sorry guys, the 5-Star rating is no longer deserved. (I have you 3 stats.) I looked for a way to contact you directly but could not find it on the website.

    Distractingly Male (Complimentarian)
Please, let me say two things first. I would not call myself Egalitarian. For most of my life I have been a conservative Complimentarian and had leaders that are the same. Currently I’m not positive where I stand, but I’m somewhere in the middle figuring it out. Second, this podcast does have really good content that I enjoy. I am struggling with whether or not I will continue listening, we will see. I have been listening for over a year and heard most episodes, and the one thing that is making it so that I feel that I can no longer listen is how immensely male it is. I am a man, and I learn from men, but there are also so many woman to learn from, and that is severely lacking in this podcast. The episode with Robby Gality might have been the last straw for me. The whole thing was so overtly masculine and male centric it was driving me nuts. I would love to find a similar podcast with Egalitarian leanings because this podcast is so overtly Complimentarian. Does Scot McKnight have a son with a leadership podcast?

Low Production Quality and too much unnecessary banter
Decent content, but the production quality is very distracting. And the non-sensical banter back and forth with nervous laughter makes this podcast unlistenable.

    PIPELINE!
5LQ early-adopter here from B-Town Montana. Want to holler a thank you from up North and out West to my boys in the Nash. When I roll to nursing school, or lift those weights, or even make my bed in the morning (or before falling into it at night), you know I be listening to y'all (yes, y'all, cause I have spent some time in the South)... even Nashville. I want you to know that the idea of "pipeline" has irrigated my imagination and helped blossom some healthy perspective as a young leader. In fact, I'm thinking up and studying for a whole talk series for our young group that's called "Pipeline". We developed a diagram too, which illustrates whether you're "going down sin's drain" or "going up the gospel's pump". Hope y'all continue in faith and "do some real damage for God's kingdom."

    Listener
Really enjoy this podcast! It's the perfect length of time and engaging. I also want to thank you all for featuring more women recently. As a 30-something female in 'secular leadership' I appreciate the Christian worldview on female and male leadership!

    Leaders are learners
Fantastic podcast that always reminds me that great leaders are always learning. Great way to hear about how many other great leaders are learning and growing, as well as allowing their leadership to permeate all of life.

    Great resource for leaders
I always appreciate getting some perspective from this podcast. Informative and helpful "questions" from a variety of guests that cover a broad spectrum of leadership topics pertinent to the church world. I find it especially helpful for me as a missionary as part of a church plant leadership team in a global city.

    Practical, helpful, quick.
This podcast deserves all 5 stars for being consistent, but changes enough. I have enjoyed hearing tips involving a large range of topics. I listen to it as I workout in the afternoons, and enjoy the humor and content of the show.

    easy and quick lessons
Ever wanted to sit with some of the top leaders and just ask some simple questions? Well, now you can...well, not exactly. But you can sit in with Todd and Barnabus as they do. This podcast is simple and informative. I always get at least one great tidbit of information from every episode.

Excellent for leaders on any level
I listen weekly to 5 LQ. It has opened me up to areas I have not yet explored or have lacked what I have needed. The topics dealth with have been informing and enjoyable. Any Christian leader would do themselves a favor by making this a weekly listen.
  • @NLVogel
    Good stuff
I enjoy the podcast and listen as each episode comes out. I especially enjoy the interviews and how they use standardized questions so we get unique answers for the same set of questions. There's a lot of value in these episodes. I don't like when Barnabas or Todd talk over their guest, but that's not a huge deal. The episodes I don't really enjoy, though, are the non-interview episodes. These usually turn into just Barnabas and Todd pontificating about a topic and talking for talking's sake. There's still value, but without differing opinions, the episodes lack. There's too much agreement; without the disagreements, there's very little context to the topics.

    Fantastic Podcast!
As an elder's wife in a young church plant, I have found this podcast SO helpful. It has helped bring clarity to questions and a healthy framework for what leadership looks like. This is the one podcast that I honestly learn something every time I listen to it. For anyone in leadership or aspiring to be in leadership, this podcast is a must.

    Great time spent
Seminary could not have prepared me for all the aspects of ministry that come at a pastor. Podcasts fill in blanks in my training. It's like seminary after seminary. Podcasts like 5LQ help me think about things I don't know what I don't know. Leadership isn't really emphasized in seminary, so listening to people who are in the know who will invest in my generation are greatly appreciated.

Get a notepad and a pen, you'll need it.
Every single podcast has at least one thing that will help you be a better leader. Doesn't matter if you are leading at home or at work you will learn something that will help you when you listen to these guys and their guests.

    Great listen
Love this podcast. Very relevant for any leader, not just the mega church leaders. The principles I have heard and put into practice have changed the way I view people and ministry.
