A fun listen that gives you some catches you up on some entertainment news and gives you some good discussions about some of your favorite shows. Jacob and Jim will quickly win you over with their friendly demeanors. You’ll soon feel like you’re just listening to two of your old buddies talking about TV shows.

With The Sopranos' recent 20th anniversary, I decided to come back to it and watch it entirely from start to finish. Despite starting the show during its original TV run, I hadn't quite finished it. So, for my (partial) re-watch, I wanted to listen to a podcast that was spoiler free and progressed through the series episode by episode. This podcast by Jim and Jakob was a great find. I've listened to almost every Sopranos episode of this podcast, having recently passed it. Even though I've completed my Sopranos rewatch, I'll surely listen to more episodes of this very entertaining podcast covering what was the greatest TV series I've ever experienced. The format of the podcast is a scene-by-scene analysis by Jim and Jakob. They cover the series almost from a perspective of TV writers, discussing how effective it is and the emotions it successfully elicits from the audience. These guys are pretty knowledgable about TV, find references to other TV shows, and can point out how particular aspects of The Sopranos have influenced shows which came after. They also have an acute sense of humor; they find things hilarious that many people probably wouldn't notice, and they laugh a lot during this podcast. It provides a lot of entertainment and makes you enjoy The Sopranos even more. If you're not interested in overanalyzing an awesome TV show (some podcasts on The Sopranos do find meaning where there is none), but looking for more insight on the show during your rewatch (or spoiler-free first watch), you can find it here. I'd recommend finding the video streams of these broadcasts on YouTube! You can see their reactions on video which makes it even more humorous. They've recently stopped streaming themselves, though, and only show a banner image of a scene from The Sopranos. Hopefully they'll do video streams for the final episodes of the show.

I love this podcast. They should do some episodes on the tv show Gotham. I think they’d do a great job breaking down the show!

More then just a recap show, shows what you know is a great take on tv shows. Not only are they very informative on the show they are talking about but they are funny when discussing it as well. I am very excited when a show I am watching is being discussed by Jakob and jim and also have decided to watch shows (vice principles) based off listening to them. Keep up it guys. When initially writing my review I forgot to give a request for the show. Please oh please can you do an episode on vice principles season 2. It’s a quick watch Jakob and I know jim has seen it already.

I enjoyed listening to your reviews of Stranger Things Season 1, even though you called Dustin Duncan. The reviews of Season 2 were super critical. Apparently you knew everything that was going to happen before it happened and they just did an awful job with everything. Chill and enjoy it more!

I greatly enjoy Shows What You Know for their honesty. They’re not afraid to say when they do or do not like a show, and why. So you really get to understand their points of view. I’d really appreciate it if they did an episode on ABC’s Galavant. Possibly both seasons? They’re fairly short. -Dictated, but not read... Signed, P. Bates.

I don't have many friends that watch the shows I watch, so this podcast is great becasue it feels like a discussion between friends on whatever popular show you're in to. Please do an episode on Mindhunter!

This is hands down the greatest tv review podcast ever! Stop watching those fake nerd review shows and check out the real deal! Jim Scampoli and Jacob Burrows give honest and in depth break downs of everything tv has to offer from Game of Thrones to gems like Spaced. If you could do a review of Firefly I'd be really stoked, it's my favorite show and I'd like to hear your opinions on it being such a fan of Joss Whedons other shows. Does it still hold up now? Does it deserve a reboot? I need to know! Thanks-

Shows What You Know is muy excelente! Jim and Jakob work very well together and have such a fun discourse. They've always got interesting takes on shows and neither one of them have ever led me astray with a recommendation. I take their TV word as gold!

I really love Jim and Jakob points of view on Shows What You Know, its the same quality as any of the best pop culture podcasts here on Itunes and reminds me of something that'd be featured on the Ringer. These guys are experienced and interesting podcasters that will never bore you with what they have too say. My favorite format in when they have go episode to episode for high profile shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld. And I urge them to do it more in the future, because it's super fascinating as a listener to here their insight. I would love to hear them delve into more Neflix shows like Glow, girlboss or dear white people. I haven't seen these show but I feel like Shows What You Know will cut through the BS and tell me what I'm missing. When these guys reccomend something I'm never dissapointed. Finally a TV show podcast that isn't strictly Game Of Thrones! Although I'm sure they will talk about Game Of Thrones sooner or later (inside scoop) lets open up this world of TV and get into some of the most interesting and best shows out there! Tune in and interact!

The team up combo of Jim and Jacob create an amazing dynamic to discuss up and coming/fan favorite shows. I'm not the biggest TV buff, but these gents keep me informed on popular TV so at least I can sound cool with all my television savvy friends. Keep these coming fellas, loveing it! - Avalanche
