Visual ClarityMore episodes soon, please!Primed is one of my favorite podcasts. The reporting! The sound production and playfulness! It keeps my ears yearning for more. I hope there will be some COVID-19 and economic meltdown episodes soon.

pas1000Excellent JournalismI find their episodes insightful and thought-provoking. Everyone needs to know more about how companies like Amazon are involved in and influencing our lives

Bailey GabbertObnoxious hostsI live in Seattle and inherently interested in all things Amazon, but the hosts of this show are so obnoxious that I can’t listen anymore.

telyeusNot digging deep enoughI don’t think they go deep enough into the ways amazon has impacted Seattle and other cities all over the US. I find so many articles on my news app when I’m not even looking for them criticizing amazon in ways this show didn’t touch on at all, even though this is focused on Amazon.

fuqueeweExcellent commentary on Amazon’s next stepsI have been listening from the beginning, since I’m in Seattle, and anything Amazon does impacts my life. The episodes are smart, balanced, and revealing. They are journalists, and have access to Amazon and many other important thought leaders for comments and background. And because they are focused on Amazon, the podcast often reveals upcoming moves or strategies long before the MSM even has a clue. If you are interested in Amazon, or just hearing more about the business of technology, this one is a must for your playlist.

ray210To them, everything Amazon does is "concerning."It has bits of interesting details about Amazon here and there, but after a few episodes, you kind of feel like a loser, listening to the two hosts whining about everything Amazon does. It's like everything has a surveillance/privacy concern and/or a racial and economic justice concern. They're big on asking how new technology and operations/logistics innovations from Amazon *could* be used in biased ways: intolerance against the homeless, gentrification, Islamophobia, racism, etc. I don't think they've come up with an angle related to bias against the nonbinary gendered, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're brainstorming on that. They're just so desperate to find some angle to say, in essence, that Amazon is committing LITERAL VIOLENCE against every fashionable interest group. 😂 It's like "Code Switch," but every social justice concern is related to Amazon. But by the end of season two, they seem to be having trouble finding things to criticize: they're now talking about Amazon's patent applications, and what "concerns" the innovations therein *may* pose. Purely speculative pessimism. Weak. The tone is so entitled: "Yeah, Amazon is making money from [whatever it is they're complaining about this week], but what benefit does it provide civil society, innumerable interest groups, and *me*? How does it make *me* feel (invariably insecure, paranoid, and "concerned")? What dangers could it pose to the [X, Y, and Z] communities? How is it biased?" To them, technology is primarily racist, and dehumanizing, exacerbating economic inequality and degrading social interactions. It's such a downer that after a while you ask yourself if they're goofing on the audience — whether this is just trolling/podcast performance art. But they're probably not joking. They actually see things that way. It's kind of sad.

MutantcheesesGood show on a big companyAn informative show, I first heard this show on a random recommendation and thought it was interesting and went looking for more. I can see the effects of the show’s topics in the world around me and it gives me a bit of a view into how Amazon changes the way we live and interact with stores and technology

Matilda DahlInteresting debate regarding Amazon’s impactI became interested in this podcast after I learned Amazon was (though no longer is) coming to my town (LIC). I was interested in learning about the nuances and complexities of the debate and this show describes the pros and cons of Amazon while also being fun.

Mike_mossFun info regarding AmazonI use Amazon for all sorts of things - quick delivery, purchases, cloud hosting - this Podcast is a GREAT source on interesting information about all things Amazon and AI! Give it a listen, you may get hooked like I did!
-
ziermeisterInteresting observationsSome worthwhile obervations about big business and culture resulting is some intersting discussions. It demystifies some of Amazon's impact on so many of the services they offer and what it takes to deliver all that to the end user.

Lockie2016Personal opinion masquerading as researchGreat concept, underwhelming finished product. To pin blame on Amazon for Seattle’s growing pains is glib and one dimensional. It’s only s1 ep3 (I think - the one asking whether poor public planning might contribute; and that a local skills shortage exacerbates the influx of new arrivals) where this pod even attempts to find balance, the rest of the time the hosts can’t shake their bias and it informs their approach - play to your audience I guess. Seattle’s growth is a hugely complex social, political and economic challenge so I was really excited when I heard about this podcast. Sadly it only swings at the low hanging fruit.

Bryan BaeckerWell done and exceptionally relevantI have really enjoyed listening to all the episodes today (through January 19, 2018). The hosts do a great job of framing a topic and then probing it to provide more context and looks at it from multiple angles (i.e. for and against). Plus, at only ~20 minutes they are very digestible. I really enjoyed the first podcast in the series as both a Seattle resident and Amazon employee. I look forward to each new release and will keep listening! Thank you for the great public service you provide!
