Krista S.W.Needed to do more research on the J.Lo episodeI listened to the episode about J.Lo in this podcast, because the synopsis sounded interesting and as a huge fan of hers I wanted to hear Wesley’s and J’s takes. I do wonder what they’d say today if this podcast were still on, especially because J said that Ben Affleck doesn’t deserve her (which I highly agree with). I also think it’s interesting that she brought up how J.Lo looked scared in interviews back when she was married to Marc Anthony, because there are rumors that he abused her during their marriage. That said, their cultural commentary on J.Lo isn’t an amazing one. Wesley is entitled to his own opinions, but I thought her Motown tribute was great. Also, I totally disagree with him on “El Cantante” being terrible. That’s a very good film and one of J.Lo’s best acting performances to date, I can’t tolerate slander for that movie. And most egregiously, Wesley fails to mention her dance background in this episode, which is pivotal in tracing her rise to stardom. The information of her being on In Living Color is literally towards the top of her Wikipedia page. It’s also ludicrous how Wesley calls J.Lo “a good dancer” when merely being “good” doesn’t give you opportunities to backup dance for Janet Jackson, New Kids on the Block, or MC Hammer (all of which she’s done). You have to be among the best to get them. J.Lo is considered one of the best dancers in the industry. And although Wesley said that on World of Dance “she judged dancers who are better than her,” this isn’t totally correct either. Yes she judged dancers who are more skilled in different genres, but she’s still amazing with the genres she dances to, such as salsa and hip-hop. The failure to mention her dance background in any way—automatic one star deduction. I can tell Wesley hasn’t watched many J.Lo performances, but if he watched her Celia Cruz tribute, 2015 AMAs performance, and the It’s My Party tour routines, he would know how incredible of a dancer she is. He tries fitting her into the “jack-of-all-trades, master of none” category, but it falls short. J also classifies her into “famous for being famous” category. While not totally wrong, it’s still a myopic take that doesn’t capture the multiple dimensions of J.Lo’s image. An interesting episode they made, but they certainly needed to do more research before speaking on her. I give it a 3 out of 5.

IAmTheOnlyAlexNow more than everwe need y’all back!! please jump back on the mic for a mini-series for the end of 2024. it would feel so comforting and enriching to hear your takes on this wild time, and to hear your voices again. I took it for granted when you were doing weekly episodes. I really hope you come back sometime!

Poo & JCOME BACKHands down my favorite podcast. Where did you go?! It’s been almost 2 years.
-
RenoQueenWould you ever do another season?Just today I was wondering what Wesley and J’s hot take would be on Beyoncé’s album. I came to the podcast hoping a new ep might have dropped. Still silent. COME BACK! I miss y’all’s funny, smartness.
-
jastowJust discovered - New episodes please!I just stumbled across this from a link in an old article I was reading, and Wow! I've only listened to 2 episodes thus far and I can't believe this jewel isn't still going. Hope they bring this back!

MMMasokaCOME BACKPLEASE COME BACK!!!!!!!!
-
Rich-Ey-RichAre y’all coming back?!It’s been over a year and I can’t find any news as to why the show has been gone so long. Are yall coming back? Please say yes.

AnnettaOQMissing “kink” I guess 😡If I could give this a zero I would. A man who states a children’s movie is missing “kink” is not one I would want any point of view from. Ewww!

BeyHive GirlBeyhive TakeLove the podcast ! I just want to point out, in the episode titled “I’m That Girl”, Beyoncé’s lyrics in the song “Heated” were misread in the episode & in turn misinterpreted. Bey said “Uncle Johnny made my dress” - in a proud way, bc her dress was absolutely fly…. She continued to say “that cheap spandex, she looks a mess” referring to that of another girl’s dress.

SheryDMLove it! Don’t gooooooWhere y’all been? Come back! Please! Love this duo and their takes on topics!

Nick555678531Still processingThank you for pushing me to think deeper — to stretch and challenge what feels familiar. Your elegant explanations make really complex ideas accessible. I love talking with the young adults in my life about each of your episodes. We appreciate you both so much!

travisfiliGreat critics 👏🏻👏🏻Jenna and Wesley are two of the most thoughtful and mindful culture critics. I love getting their take on new music, TV, or movies, and I get a lot of recommendations from their conversations too. I especially love their conversations about music. I felt like Wesley's episode about Philly was unexpected but one of the best!

Alessandra di LampedusaEmbrace your TaupenessInteresting point made by Wesley that celebrities may exist in a racially nether category. People will excuse bad behavior as long as you're making money for the system.
-
chocolatecityusaWesley!I’m sure it’s generational, but Kanye never resonated for me. However, listening to the grief (yes, grief) that both of you feel as you contextualize this very sick individual, someone who has had such an impact, is deeply moving. Glad you guys are back together with all the rigorous inquiry and curiosity that makes this podcast a must. Happy Holidays and happy new year!🌟⭐️🌟 Asè

carla2692Is someone gonna tell ‘em…?The latest (AMAZING) ep “America’s Got a Problem” cuts off prematurely 😨
-
listenerpodSelective attention and fear of calling outI’m in shock after listening to the Kanye episode. The episode spent about 30 seconds mentioning the recent horrific antisemetic comments that Kanye has said. It mentioned 0 times the increase in hate crimes this past month against Jews as a result of his comments. The focus was on incidents that occurred 2 months ago- rather than anything he has said in the last 2 weeks. No mention of the multiple targeted synagogues after his speech or other hate crimes. Why is there a fear of calling out anti Semitism? Please, Call out hate wherever it is, and whoever it targets. What is the fear of addressing anti semitism head on, and why is it the remaining acceptable form of hate? Why use the comments that Kanye has recently used to put Jews in danger as a prompt to discuss hate towards other groups as the focus?

mansaritaLove love loveYou two (and your team) are freaking brilliant and I am so grateful for this podcast. Keep on shining and letting us bask alongside.

enc91No more Beyoncé pleaseI love this show but this season is literally Beyoncé, Beyoncé, Beyoncé. And like I get it her new album was great but can we move on???? Idk. I’m probably like the only person that just isn’t moved by her I guess. I’ll probably sit the remainder of this season out until y’all get off her. 5 stars tho because I still love y’all.

Shaharah LSynchronicityI listened to your review of Nope and Renaisance. There is something about the two of you together that is aweseome; something like poetry I always listen in the car so I can really listen to what is being said. The voice cadences, the joy, all ot it. Keep it up! I may even subscribe to the times...

JezzaismyhomeboyBack to the office.... you poors. This is some upper class back to pro capitalism propaganda. If 40% of the pop can work from home, that is a stop gap for infection in the middle of a pandemic THAT IS STILL HAPPENING. “Sitcoms aren’t work from home friendly” isn’t an argument for ignoring viral transmission in a pandemic. This is some bourgeoisie neoliberal trash.
-
quenzhouseSmart hosts but…Both Wesley and Jenna are smart and have interesting things to say. I just wish Wesley would….say less and let Jenna talk more. As it is, it seems like she can barely get a word in edgewise and is reduced to enthusiastic “uh uh s” and “MMM” over and over. It’s to the point where I can’t even stand to listen anymore. Give Jenna her own show!!

OllieBee18It’s Just So Very Delicious…There are few things that one can enjoy and feel better for it … this is one of those things. To be clear, there is no category for something so delicious - whether it’s a food, a book, a show. Something truly delicious satisfies in a way that leaves you perfectly content. No need to binge. No need to worry about when you will get more. This podcast is delicious. Cheers.

EmmhmmmNo yaw didn’tI know you guys did not come back after all this time! Come back and talk about a bomb movie and only give us 30mins. I need more !
-
CPTMcGrawLerve these people! You two! I think I heard an excerpt some time in early ‘21, opining on Prince, Spike and the N word. The dialogue, the rawness, the sharing of experience, F@#%! BLEW. MY. MIND. When you played the new intro music, sometime around Episode 50, it so reminded me of the complex horns in those moments in Bamboozled (Spike’s most underrated) when Damon Wayans is self-actualizing his culture, oppression and race. I need a new emoji that shows that Muah! kiss of perfection, with the fingertips to the lips, y’a know?!
-
RDB9917Baby come back (please)!Love love love the richness and sensitivity with which you explore politics, entertainment and out collective experience as Americans. I have binged my way through every episode and can’t wait for more Wesley and Jenna. Your beautiful minds, hearts and voices are so essential in these times.

aroccstarOne of the bestThis has been one of my favorite podcasts for years! Wesley is such an amazing podcast host and has the most unique way of looking at things. I could listen to him all day. Loved the new format, loved the old one, keep it up! <3

-
RootsofPassageYou belong together indeed!5 minutes in, and I am transported back to seasons past, the unseen but palpable energy between Wesley and Jenna. Y’all, back together, is pulling on my heartstrings. Wonderful season in all, but nothing like this dynamic duo! 🖤🖤
-
*%#}{Faves 💗The episodes were great this season, but there’s nothing like the J & Wesley chemistry!! 🌊
-
KerikwanzaaA good jawn!Love this pod. I’m appreciating the thoughtful breaks the hosts take as much as I appreciate their thoughts and insights. LOVE this latest episode with Wesley talking more about growing up in Philly..the kids today would call it “a good jawn”!!
-
NinaRose215Jawn MorganAlways amazing! And snaps for the most recent episode on Philly’s Vine Street Expressway - this story needed to be told! Love the Jawn Morgan reference at the end, BTW, I see that billboard and always laugh.

NomicAtomyAnnoyingI’ve never rated or written a review for a podcast. The ad for this show is so annoying I came here just to give it 1 star. I hear this ad constantly and will never listen to the show because it’s the most obnoxious thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t get to the fast forward button fast enough when it comes on.
-
Cupcake875Stick with what you knowI gave this pod cast a try because I love hearing peoples deep thoughts on issues. Some of the episodes where great. However one particular one rubbed me the wrong way which lead me to never listen to it again. They were talking about white people and asking what their culture is which is ignorant and I don’t know what’s with Americans thinking that all people who are l light complected are the same. they’re all different and they all have different cultures. Just like not every black person or middle eastern has the same culture. They also went on a Tangent about the movie silent place and how it’s a white privilege movie because no black person owns property like. I found this comical because I live in the country and there are many black farmers some of which have much better places then the white farmers Do. This is just A podcast of pure American ignorance
-
monsherribGreat PodcastI am enjoying the new format with interviews more so than the previous format. I just can’t get enough Wesley Morris and very much appreciate his perspective. Much love.
-
Imari hallNow y’all know I love y’allBut when is Jenna gonna be done and come back to balance this thing on out? Wesley — you my boy but baby girl you know you have some paw paw taste. Love you both!
-
ArethaBoomEntertaining and InsightfulGreat pod. Hate to say it and bring the negativity but it’s so much better with just Wesley

jkthinksWelcome Back!So happy you’re back. I like Jenna, and clearly W likes Jenna, but I hang on bc I am almost always moved by Wesley and his writings in the paper. Great guests and great thoughtfulness from the host and his interaction with the guests. So happy you’re back.
-
RzaR3ctorA+ Cultural CriticismAlways relevant but never in a rush to be trendy. Love the research that goes into each episode, as well as the host’s willingness to live in the tension of subjects that have grey areas.
-
baepsalmbookExceptionalThere are so many great things to say about this show and its hosts. Wesley and Jenna bring incredible energy, sharp analysis, and endless curiosity to the topics they cover in every single episode. Their conversations are often humorous, often heartfelt, and always enlightening. Still Processing is consistently one of the first shows I recommend to folks searching for new podcasts sure to provide excellent pop culture analysis. If you’re looking for a place to start, Ep 56, Ep 108, or Ep 132 are all really strong individual episodes. Happy listening!
-
gmann750still processing?2 liberals from the nyt with thinly veiled biases and a obvious filter thru which they see the world. what exactly are they "still processing"? have they learned anything? hint: continual "dialogue" with no resolution is deliberate. they probably dont even know it.
-
Joselle PalaciosStill Processing…with just Mr. MorrisWesley Morris is a gem. So bright (as in brilliant AND light-filled), so authentic, so sweet, vulnerable, wonderful insights…I love him. Jenna, I tolerate. I tolerate the affected new agey-ness. Her insights are sometimes hollow and very much of the prevailing sloganeering zeitgeist. Still Processing without Jenna is so much more enjoyable. Still Processing with Wesley and Parul Seghal would be an awesome duo. Sorry, but Jenna is dead weight and I don’t miss her. All the best to her but Wesley alone with various guests is such a treat.
-
Jed TongDo you like Prince movies?Made my day seeing Alex Pappademas on to talk Keau!!! Grantland 4eva!!
-
Syd AveryFavorite DuoOne of my favorite podcast duo! Their take on social and racial issues are always on point. Favorite episodes are when they tackle celebrities like Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill or Dave Chappell and unpack their Black lived experience and how they create space in today’s culture. Looking forward to Jenna and Wesley get back to their original style and discuss current topics.
-
Tiniest LalaSimply the bestNot only my favorite podcast, but two of my favorite people! The only podcast my dad will listen to and discuss with me. The world where Jenna and Wesley are engaging minds and at the helm is the world where I want to be. Always looking forward to more. Thank you!
-
Jupiter Jackrabbit JonesAlways Processing Still ProcessingI am consistently floored by the sensitive, wise, and vulnerable conversations that Morris and Wortham cultivate. I find myself thinking about episodes weeks, sometimes months, later. I must share this podcast more than any other, and I’ve begun using some episodes in my high school English classroom, in conjunction with great writing and film. Thank you!
-
TMnSDNormally love this podcastBut I gotta say I hated the episode about method acting. I read the book. It was horrible. I am so sick of everyone talking about it. Isaac really missed the mark on this book.
