The April 22, 2019 interview with Tig Notaro is one of the best podcasts in all of podcast history. Tig is generally my favorite but this interview in particular is truly a blast, the call-backs, the clown horns. All so good. I have it downloaded to my phone and listen to it on the regular and in these dark times, it’s a salve for my soul.

Thanks to the three of you - the pod is so well done. Tip though for you, Sona, play a drinking game, taking a shot every time Conan says the phrase, “it’s funny because…”. You will need a nap mid show. Seriously though, great guests and banter with the 3 of you. Cheers

This is the pee-your-pants ugly laugh podcast I’ve been dreaming about. I even find the ads funny! I love the rapport with Sona and Gourley. I listen while I’m doing chores around the house and it is my favorite part of the day.

I had an MRI recently, and the technician offered to let me listen to music on the provided headphones during the procedure. I immediately asked if the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast was available, and it was! Really helped keep my mind off the loud sounds of the MRI machine (and mild claustrophobia). As I left the appointment, the tech said I did great. Then after a pause, he added “no one’s ever requested Conan.” Well, I say that more people should! Awesome podcast; I love you guys and I’m sending extra love and support to Sona and her family. Hugs!

I am so sorry Sona lost her home. I also feel very sorry for all the families that lost their homes as well as the people that lost their lives in this devastating fire. I pray for your comfort and strength as you move forward. Take good care.

When I first heard of the Eaton fire in Altadena, I instantly thought of you and was hoping you were okay. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Prayers to you and your family as you rebuild your home and community. So glad you got the ice bucket.

I’ve listened to all the episodes and look forward fo hearing them at work. Conan and the team invite celebrities and chat with them on a human level like no other podcast and I learn about their lives, dreams and quirks. So wholesome. Also the fan episodes are funny.

Not a review (love you guys and the show) but sending love to Sona and her family and to Matt and Conan and family who have gone through so much the last couple of months. Thanks for your episode and sharing everything glad you could be together, I hope It was nice for you to get back to a routine so to speak. Sona I know how much you love AltaDena and defend it against Conan’s jokes and I know you and your extended family will rally around you. Just listened to the LA fires ep and wanted to hug Sona and tell her she is right, it’s not just stuff. It’s the home you created for your family. Your labor and your love is what turns a space into a place that supports your daily routines, your stability, your sense of community and safety. Losing a home is devastating and traumatic and I am so sorry for anyone who becomes unhoused for any reason. Thank goodness you are all safe and have a wonderful support network of friends and family to care for you. Still, it’s ok to grieve. Be well 🩷

Hi Conan, Sona, and Matt. Listening to your episode about the fires is bittersweet and heartwarming. On a normal day, I love listening to your podcast because it feels like you are a family. You make jokes at each other’s expense, but you genuinely love each other. This episode showed all of that in a beautiful bloom. Hearing Sona’s devastating news I could tell the genuine concern and love for her and her family in everyone’s voice. As beautiful as that is, hearing her laugh through the pain with her other family was equally as beautiful as it allowed her a small break from her current reality. My love and respect for all of you cannot be understated. Stay safe♥️

I work with kids as an educator and your dialogue while often just silly brings me comfort. May you share in that comfort and rest easy in the memory of your parents. How frustrating to try to hear the guest, such as Jeff Goodblum, and Conan is CONSTANTLY talking about himself and his experiences which would be ok in very small doses, but this is too much. How can you be a seasoned interviewer and yet blow it so bad??!!

I started listening to this show a little over a month ago. I’d been wanting to listen for a while and I know I’m way behind. I just really needed to find some joy. My sister was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and I have been having a hard time with it. Finding joy is hard sometimes but this show has really made a huge difference to me. Just talking about your struggles with depression and anxiety with befriending people is really relatable. Your relationship with your work family is beautiful. I just love your approach to the show and talking to your guests. You have made me laugh out loud on every episode. You have brought me joy. Thank you.

I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in a longggg time. If you (and most people here do) know the torrid relationship between Jordan and Conan, then this episode will make you laugh your head off. Not gonna lie I’ve listened to it three times already just to also have in the background because it makes me crack up. We need a whole Jordan and Conan pod.

A marriage counselor who validates nuero"divergence " and doesn't just view a marriage thru a neurotypical communication lens. It's about the facts. Information. Reel in the egos, typicals. At least Conan is hot, but he's lucky to have you.

Sona and Matt please let us know you’re okay!

The chemistry between Conan, staff, and guests is often fun and energizing. Over time Conan has given guests less breathing space while inserting and often revising on-the-fly a punch line or piece of schtick. Love ya, man but spend a little more time listening to your guests.

I know this is most likely a difficult time for you. I went through a difficult time recently and listened to self help podcasts relentlessly. I gave up on trying to be a better person and finding meaning in life so I started listening to this. But seriously I have fond memories of going to sleepovers in my NKOTB sleeping bag watching Conan. Thank you for your continuing light. Although I guess with that complexion, shining bright isn’t so difficult.

Hoping Conan, Sona, Matt and staff are all ok. Sending lots of prayers and love their way!

I love Conan and have for many years, but for Christ’s sake…YOU’RE NOT &@$!ING IRISH!!! If you edited out all his “we Irish…” anecdotes there probably wouldn’t be much of a show. I'm using this review space to express concern and support for Sona and her family and anyone else who may be impacted by the awful fires. Countless fans are remembering Altadena being mentioned on the show, and we're hearing it on the news and are genuinely praying for your safety.

I just can’t listen to her fake laugh anymore and I just find the fact that the only “stupid“ person on the show is of course a woman. They need some fresh blood, a different woman cohost, someone who’s actually funny and smart and can keep up with the guys.

This show was the first suggestion when I searched for tall, red headed, and Irishman . It turns out he’s actually funny and very entertaining too.

I can’t say enough how much I love this podcast. It always boosts my mood and I feel like I’m listening to friends having meaningful conversations no matter who is on. No matter ever gets too serious, but it’s not comedy all the time either. I hope they keep doing what they’re doing for many years to come

Conan, the worst late-night host in the history of television, is stuck in the world of his presumed, funny style of a 12-year-old humor. He is the most annoying talkshow host ever. I’m only here for the guests and there’s some great guests like Billy Crystal who he actually let talk instead of Conan having to hear himself talk and his assistant laughing far too much to support his ego and earn her paycheck. grow up Conan.

Conan meets the first requirement of an interviewer: he is genuinely interested in his guest. But on top of that he delivers whip smart insights with a rapier wit yet he is never unkind. You know darn well he’s the smartest guy in the room, but he’s not a know-it—all. It was thirty years ago that I first caught him on tv and marveled at the high silliness! I still do.

I generally stay away from celebrity podcasts and want to support independent ones. I was tired of politics and news and needed to laugh. I loved Conan back in the day. I fell in love with this pod immediately. I love hearing all the great SNL stories. It’s really Sona who is the glue. Would not be the same without her. Jimmy’s guitar is awesome.

Conan has some cool guests and interesting interviews, but that’s only 50% of the show. The initial first half is mostly Conan yelling at full volume as loud as he can because he thinks the louder he yells the funnier he is. Interestingly, someone like Robin Williams who is 10 times funnier than he is doesn’t do that.

My commute to work is an hour each way, but having this podcast and knowing there are people like poor Sona who have it so much worse than I do has cured me of my desire to drive into oncoming traffic.

I would not be opposed to a case of pears. Love this show, and especially Matt and Sona! Bring Kristen Chenowith back. I would also pay fair to middling money to see Conan and KC on a stage together.

I’ve been waiting for a spark of inspiration to leave a review. A near death experience I just had felt like the right moment. My boyfriend turned me onto this podcast several months ago, and I have been binging ever since. I was just listening to the end of the Jack White interview where Matt was quizzing Conan and Sona on rejected James Bond songs. As I was taking a bite of salmon salad and washing it down with some water, Conan made a joke about saying “nothing but net” as a kid when horribly missing a basketball shot. Well, I lost it. Swallowing and laughing simultaneously do not mix. I had to catch the water I was coughing up in my hands to avoid splashing my computer keyboard. Thankfully, I was able to run to my kitchen sink, which is only a few feet from my desk where I was sitting, and cough up the rest that I was choking on. And thankfully, I have a dog to clean up the trail of salmon water I left on the ground. Well anyway, keep up the great work. I beg people to not eat while listening to this podcast. It’s advice that could save lives.

If you are looking for a podcast that will be decently entertaining with decent writing and decent hosting ability, you may have found the right place. Conan isn’t my jam, but oh well.
